Survey Platform

Hi Everyone,I hope you can help. 🤞Participants access my survey through authentication that loads embedded data. When a participant reaches a particular question, which is a straightforward 'Yes / No' query, if the response is 'No', I aim to reset specific existing embedded data fields.I truly appreciate any assistance the community can offer on this matter; it's the final hurdle I'm facing!Thank you :)

Hey!I want to show respondents a Highlight Question they already answered again, but also display them with the selection they made the first time to reconsider them. Is there a way to have a default category selection in a highlight question in Qualtrics? My hunch was to extract the first selection and have a JavaScript to highlight the selection again. My current JavaScript (below) is not working:    var questionID = 'QID273';         // Replace 'Option1', 'Option2', etc. with the values of the options you want to select by default    var defaultOptions = "${q://QID39/ChoiceGroup/SelectedChoicesForAnswer/1}";        // Get the question element    var questionEl = this.getQuestionContainer();        // Loop through each default option    defaultOptions.forEach(function(optionValue) {        // Find the checkbox corresponding to the default option        var defaultOption = questionEl.querySelector('label[for="' + questionID + '_' + optionValue + '"]');                // If the default

Hello,Qubie here.I've created a survey with a question that asks the user to rank order a list of features from 1 Must have to 7 Nice to Have. Ultimately I'd like to determine the order or most preferred features from 100 survey respondents. This has already been designed as a rank order (drag and drop) so I have 2 questions 1) How can I best determine the order of those features prioritized from 1-7 for reporting (visualization) and 2) is there a better way to approach this in the future?

I did not save the incomplete responses of my survey. However, now after closing it, I think it would be interesting to have a look at them. Is there any way (e.g. with help of the Qualtrics support) to reconstruct the incomplete responses?

I am conducting a study where I want to anonymously follow students over an entire school year.I want to do this by doing 4 surveys with the class.I do not need any personal details of the respondent, I just want to link the survey that 1 person completes to the other 3 surveys that the same person completes and then compare this. The respondents are children and therefore cannot remember a unique code. The survey is also conducted via a general QR code or general link. This cannot be changed. Is there a way to do this in Qualtrics?

I have a very basic survey that is being used to gather data from various volunteers for the hours that they have put into the program. At the end of the survey, we have provided a link that brings them back to the same survey to enter more hours, if needed. Each time they do this they have to re-enter their contact info all over again. Is there a way to have that data carry over into the survey (same survey they just took) the next time they pull it up?Thank you for your help!

Hello - is there a way to retrospectively look at completes in a survey to see whether they took the survey on mobile or desktop? We have anonymised responses and haven’t included any meta data questions, so I’d just like to see whether this is possible having already collected responses.

Hey guys, In one of the pages of my Qualtrics survey, when every question was completed and I clicked the arrow of “next page” button, then it moved to the top of the same page, and I needed to scroll down and click the arrow again to move to the next page. It happened in both the preview and real test. May I ask what are the causes and how to avoid clicking the arrow twice for moving to the next page. Many thanks.

I have a supplemental data source containing a list of teachers' information (including IDs, names, etc.). I would like to populate the dropdown dynamically using the embedded data from the supplemental data source. Is it possible to do so?

Okay, so I have a survey with with Recipient Email that I don’t seem to be able to pull into a Report build, but I have found a way to use a custom embedded field that I have set up ‘respondentEmail’ that I can pull in as a Break out in the report. Problem is I don’t want to have to update the ‘respondentEmail’ field in the data and analysis tab manually for several 100 records. Is there a way, without a reimport, to map or formulate to get the Receipient Email into the respondantEmail field?  Many thanks for any feedback!Singed: I don’t like to do things manually :)

Hi, We were running out of accesses within the company I work at, but needed an access for a new person. Therefore, a person who previously was using Qualtrics shared her surveys for me and the idea was that I will then delete her account, create an account for a new one and share the surveys for the new person. Everything was fine until I deleted the account. Now when I tried to open the surveys I was about to share, it says this:Did we lose our surveys or is there something we can do to save the surveys? 😩

Hello,I am looking for a way to set a regex code in a name entry field with limiting (1)the content type to a text-only and (2) the max 35 characters.Could anyone help me find an appropriate regex code for it? Thank you!

Hi EveryoneHope you’re well.I have a simple authenticator setup, but for some reason it won’t pass for the same person twice via email.I am intending to use the survey as a form, so the same person could be retaking the form multiple times. The authenticator will help pull in embedded data from a contact list to help pre-populate the form with common requests. Name, Email, Address, Etc…Hope you can help. Thanks :)

At the end of a course, we survey our students to seek their feedback; the survey is standardised and specific to each course (eg faculty name, course name, course dates etc).  I have therefore created a ‘master’ copy that is copied and updated for each course.Embedded in the survey are four created fields that convert star ratings to German scores (in the German system, 1 = best ie 5 stars, and 5 = worst ie 1 star).  I took this approach as I couldn’t recode the star values so that 5 stars = 1; 4 stars = 2 etc. However, whenever the survey is copied, the calculated fields disappear, ditto for the reports that show findings. How can the survey be copied over in its entirity, calculated fields and reports included?Huge thanks.

Dear All,I have a multiple choice question where I include the question and the answers each as graphics. Now I am wondering how to reduce all the spaces as indicated in the picture below (it should look like a proper table).Current previewMy CSS code looks like this:.Skin label.MultipleAnswer, .Skin label.SingleAnswer {min-height: 0px;margin-top: 0px;padding: 0px;}.Skin label.MultipleAnswer.LabelPositionBELOW>span,.Skin label.SingleAnswer.LabelPositionBELOW>span { padding-bottom:0px;}.Skin .MAVR label.MultipleAnswer, .Skin .SAVR label.SingleAnswer { background: #ffff;}.Skin label.MultipleAnswer.q-checked.q-focused,.Skin label.SingleAnswer.q-checked.q-focused { background: #ffff;} Thank you very much!!

I have a survey which consists of 12 blocks. One of the blocks I want to show either in the 4th block position or the 12th block position.Hopefully participants would have a 50% change of seeing the block in either 4th or 12th.I’m really struggling with this- any help would be incredibly appreciated. If you are able to include images that would be amazing.

I am trying to create a drill-down question about height, where participants can select units (centimeters or feet-inches) in the first step, and then their height in these units in the next step.I have prepared a CSV file with possible choices, but when I import it using “Import choices”, I see an error: “ File is the incorrect type.”I am sure that the file is in the correct format and the import setting are correct. It is a csv file in UTF-8 format that looks like this (not real answers):cm,160cm,170cm,180ft,4ft,5ft,6Interestingly, I receive the same error when I follow instrucitons from the Qualtrics website for creating a drill-down question about cars (year-make-model) using the example file from the website.Any help on how to import the choices would be greatly appreciated.Thank you.

I have surveys set up in our plant to report incidents and hazard hunts.  All of the reports require a photo to be included of the incident or hazard hunt.  I have email triggers set up for managers to receive when a survey is completed in their area.  I have included in the email trigger a place for the picture to post.  I only have the option to include the link.  Managers are not able to view the picture.  Is there a way to force the picture to show in the triggered email as opposed to just the link? Thank you!

I'm encountering an issue with the Flat Layout in Qualtrics matrix questions. When using the tab key to navigate between answer choices, the outline (visual indicator of focus) doesn't appear.I've tried implementing custom CSS to address this behavior, but haven't been successful. Currently, the outline only appears on hover, not when navigating with the tab key. This creates accessibility concerns for users who rely on keyboard navigation.Has anyone else encountered this issue? Are there any known workarounds or solutions to enable the outline for tab key navigation in the Flat Layout matrix question?

For those of you that collect video responses, what percentage of your respondents leave a video response?  Thanks!

My translations are not loading for my survey. The drop down selection appears in the preview of the survey but the translations are not loading in the translation overview. Any suggestions on how to proceed?

I have a matrix table of text entries with numeric values to be entered in each box.  In workflow, I have math operations to sum each row.  Works great thanks to help from the community!BUT, is it possible to somehow ‘lock’ the math operation so the piped text that indicates the row number does not change every time there is an edit made to the form and published?Below shows Nominee 2 piped in now as value ‘377’ instead of the original ‘2’ after someone made some edits and published. I now have to edit every operation so the correct new value is shown.

Hello!I am currently trying to write a JavaScript with two different validations for a highlight question. The current code I have does not work. Can anyone please tell me what’s wrong?Qualtrics.SurveyEngine.addOnload(function(){   // Get the highlight question container    var highlightQuestion = this.getQuestionContainer();        // Add an event listener to the container to detect changes in highlighted categories    highlightQuestion.addEventListener('change', function() {        validateCategories();    });        // Validation function for both categories    function validateCategories() {        // Get the number of selected sentences for each category        var mis_sentences = highlightQuestion.querySelectorAll('.ChoiceStructure[data-qcid="most important sentence"].Selected');        var smis_sentences = highlightQuestion.querySelectorAll('.ChoiceStructure[data-qcid="second most important sentence"].Selected');                var mis_count = mis_sentences.length;        var smi

Hello!  I am writing a survey where I’ll have 4 segments by device type and will create a variable to categorize them.  There will be 25 per segment.   I also need to show two different question sets to half of all respondents.  I’d like each device type segment to be equally divided (can be off one since it’s an odd number) so that I don’t end up with the entire sample being equally divided while the different device types are not.  I know how to create the variables for the device types and I know how to randomize blocks, but not sure how I can assure each segment is equally divided 50/50 between the question sets.  Appreciate any thoughts! Thanks!

I’m trying to do a survey that will prompt the next choice based on the option of the previous question.  For example:Q1 What lunch do you want?Sandwich Salad SoupQ2 - Based on optionSandwichHam PB&JSaladChicken TunaSoupChicken Noodle Tomato Does that make sense?  Anyone know how to set up a survey that way?
