Hello, everyone! I am a beginner in Qualtrics. I started creating a survey for my study, and I encountered this issue:In a block, I embedded a YouTube Video and created four thought probe questions. I want the video to pause and display the thought probe questions at random points and then resume automictically after displaying each question for 30s. Could anyone help with a JavaScript and how I could use it to achieve that?

Hi folks,I’m designing a Top Task Analysis survey. I came across this article: https://boagworld.com/content-strategy/top-task-analysis/I like the lean approach mentioned by the article. I find the “Submitting a Product Idea” in the Qualtrics XM Community is using this approach. I want to know how can I create this kind of survey in Qualtrics? I'm curious what everything thinks of the new Results Reporting.

A customer asks if users can delete the files they uploaded before submitting the form. This might be a case where they uploaded the wrong files or changed their minds about sharing. I don't think this is an option, but thought I'd ask anyway.

In the reports section, I am trying to do a bar visualization for a Likert-scale style question. Using the percentage metric, the bar visualization shows what percentage of respondents Agree, what percentage disagree, and so on.But once I add a breakout by gender, the percentages change to percentage of choice rather than percentage of response. (Instead of answering the question “what percentage of females answered Agree,” it shows what percentage of the Agree respondents were female.)There is an almost-work-around if the Transpose box is checked, but that doesn’t display each answer in a clear manner. I would like to submit the idea to include more percentage options when adding a breakout to a bar visualization. (I have already spoken to support over the phone and this feature is not currently possible)

Hi I just created an embbeded variable during the response of question A with the following codeQualtrics.SurveyEngine.addOnPageSubmit(function() {var x = "${q://QID1007/ChoiceGroup/SelectedAnswers/26}";var ans="During the time we just identified, [" + x + "]";  Qualtrics.SurveyEngine.setEmbeddedData("Timing", ans);});And I piped in the embbeded variable in the next question B${e://Field/Timing}, did you do other stuffs?So, what I got is only “During the time we just identified “ without the response in question A, but if go back using the button to question A and return with the next button to question B, it appears! So, why is this happening and how I can show inmediatly my embbeded variable in question B when people responded question A? Thank you!

Hello,when a survey submitted, email is sent to admin; I wonder if I can I add a link(how to generate it?) to the response in that email, so the response can be deleted? thank you, Natalia

Hi,I have a survey with responses already updated. I have added a custom data field in the data table.I would like to download the responses, add value in the newly added custom data field and import them back. Below are my queries:What happens to the survey metadata like Recorded date, Response ID, status ? Can I upload the exported values back to system so that no new rows are inserted ? If 1 is not possible, what is the work around ?

Hi i actually wanted a help out here in applying text iq on imported data from external resource. the column in which the verbatim is a placeholder in the import file and not the embedded data.and within text iq the column is not visibleso is there any way to get this applied on the imported data column

Hello everyone. I am converting a Redcap build to Qualtrics and have run into an issue. We have a survey that patients need to fill out, then about 5 field that the doctor will fill out. We then want to output a PDF and create reports/dashboard using the patient responses and the doctor responses as if they are all one survey.In Redcap, this was done by having multiple instruments/surveys linked to the same record.How can something similar be done in Qualtrics? Would it be best to have hidden fields in the patient survey that the doctor can then go in and fill out? Or can two surveys be created within the project that are then linked to the same person for PDF/report generation? Thanks for any suggestions! 

Hi all, I am a new Qualtrics user, to start with initial survey, I do not have any multiple-choice question in my default block to start with, and all the options under add new question were disabled. Is this something related to permission levels?  

We have been hosting a survey where upon opening the link the following occurs: A user is given an ID using embedded data, we’ve used two ways - using ID${piped text for quota count} OR ID${random number between 1-10000} In this survey, the user authenticated based on that ID and contact list within the XMDirectory includes a unique passcode After participants take the first survey, their contact information is saved to a new directory list and that list includes a passcode. For the “second” survey, participants are authenticated using the ID and passcode (at a later time point)The above system has been working very well, except when we send out “blasts” to thousands of new participants. When this happens, multiple participants open the survey at the same time and end up with the same ID. This means for the subsequent survey, everyone gets “locked out”. We are hosting a survey where we’d like to compare people’s birthdays reported to an age they reported on a different survey. We have the age calculated by DOB using Java script. Our issue is at the end of the survey, we are trying to set up embedded variables based on the equality between the ages, and it isn’t working. I have both “age” embedded data set to numbers, I’m trying to figure out if I typed this wrong?  Because of this helpful thread is why we also have survey_age Is equal to ${e:// and so on 

I would like to create a workflow that will result in an export of all the data in a survey to Excel each night.  I don’t see a way to get a full export and not just new additions.  So to recap - I want to create a workflow that will result in the full survey data being exported from Qualtrics into an Excel file each night.  Currently I am manually doing this and then adding to an Azure database.Thank you.

Dear Experts,I am a beginner in Qualtrics.I have a survey with responses already recorded. There are 3 open text fields that might be in German or English language. Since Qualtrics uses Google translate to translate languages (which is not allowed as per our org. policy), we need to manually create 3 custom fields to store the translated language text (In English). Below are my questions:How can I upload the translated data in the respective newly created data fields without impacting the Recorded date ? Is it even possible ? I am assuming it would append a new record.(I have not tried it out yet). Is there any other round about solution to have a formula based custom field where I can get the translated result from Deepl.com and have it populated in the new field ?

Hi Community! What are the best practices when it comes to question labels? We have many CX Dashboards, Survey templates and Data Projects, so I need to optimize the labels for export and auto-mapping.The results of a question need to be exported to a Data Project, then loaded in a Dashboard as a data source. At the same time, the same survey will be a data source in a Dashboard. So in the Dashboard Data I want the auto-mapping feature to work as best as possible.But the Field names for variables in the Dashboard Data also need to be readable, otherwise I will have to adjust them each time I make a copy of the Dashboard template and add a new Sruvey as data source. Right now, I just have the question number to the left, and a code for the question in the Question Label field. Is this the best option?

How do I get it to show 1) a randomized question, 2) a completely different question, and 3) the same random question as shown in #1? I don’t know how to show the same random question as shown in previous.I’m a novice user of Qualtrics.. Please help.

So I’ve searched around but can’t quite seem to get what I’m looking for.I have 2 categories with 6 blocks each. I wish to randomly choose 5 blocks from each category, and present the 10 blocks randomly to each participant. Stacking the randomisers seem to just present the first category, then the second category, same with groups. Sorry if this is a silly question!  

For a Drag and Drop question, I can use piped text to access the rank of the item, but I don't appear to be able to access which group items were assigned to.Is there anyway to access which group items were assigned to?For example if I had items (123), (456) assigned to Group (ABC), I would like to be able to access and show all elements which are assigned to Group (ABC).   

We had a workflow set up to send an email to the user who submitted the survey. Eventually, we had to change the message contents as well as the from address, from name, and reply to email. We did not create a new workflow. We simply edited the existing one. However, now when users submit the survey, they get the old message and the new message in two separate emails. There is only one workflow set up to trigger this email and we cannot figure out why the old message is still firing separately. Any ideas to troubleshoot and just have the one new email sent out?

Hello, For my study, I want to incorporate a weekly calendar (schedule) template that asks participants to fill out what type of activity they will be engaging on what day, what time, for how long, etc. I would like it to look similar to google calendar when it is set to ‘week’ (to ensure that the task feels fluent). Is there a way to implement this on qualtrics?

Hi Everyone- I’m working on a sign-up survey. Respondents can select from multiple sessions. When the survey closes, I would like one email to be sent to each session leader with a list of all people who signed up for their session.  The basic email task won’t work, but I was hoping there is a creative solution I haven’t thought of.  Thank you for your ideas.
