Hello all,I am building a survey where I need a specific validation option that I am having trouble figuring out. In the survey, we will be asking two questions:Q1. How many hours do you spend watching TV per week?Q2. How are these hours spent watching TV per week distributed across the following TV Genres?I have included a screenshot below as an example. I want the total for hours inputted into Q2 to be equal to the participants answer for Q1 (e.g. if the person says they watch 10 hours of TV per week in Q1, then the total of the hours across the genres must equal 10 hours in Q2).I have no clue how to do this - be it with Javascript or Piped Text, so if someone could provide a detailed walk through of how this can be achieved, I would be very grateful - thank you.   

Hello!Is there a way to monitor survey performance by showing completion rates of each question?I’m imagining a line or bar chart where the X axis is each question and the Y is the count or % complete.That way we can more accurately track the drop off rate and where it happens.

Hi community, Been looking at NPS Impact Score within our Text Analytics model which an XM scientist helped us set up a while back when we got started with text analytics.  This provides us the overall impact particular topics are having on our overall NPS.  I have a colleague of mine who is seeking to better understand what it’s trying to show/calculated (they are more of a statistician than I am). The formula for it is… NPS Impact Score = (Topic Count*(Topic NPS-Overall NPS))/(Overall Count-Topic Count). This is set up as a custom metric, but was a metric encouraged by Qualtrics to monitor text analytics. The question my colleague has is why we include the topic count as both numerator and denominator; and to that I can’t answer (it seems ok to me, but this isn’t my speciality).  Surprisingly I recall a bit more documentation on the Qualtrics side when we introduced it, but now nothing seems to come up.  I’d like to have more confidence around this if we were to keep using it, but ca

Hi, We send out surveys to multiple people within different organisations. However, we can only have one response from each organisation. The surveys also include embedded data for each organisation. The only way we can currently do this (to our knowledge) is to have two contact lists:one “person contact list” with real emails of the people to whom we want to send the survey  one “organisation contact list” which uses a fake email for each organisation (as email is a required field in Qualtrics) and which includes all embedded data for the organisations in the survey. We send out the notifications, which includes login credentials, to everyone in the “person contact list”. They can then use the login credentials to access the survey, which is linked to the “organisation contact list”. This ensures they see the embedded data for their organisation and that we only get one submission by organisation. As you can see in the screenshot above, the gray padding around each of the multiple choice options are all touching each other. I do not want this.My answer options used to have a gap between them (also pictured, below). This is what I want.  I was using the same styling (no custom CSS, compact, arial font, 18pt questions with 16 pt answer choices) and layout (classic) for each version. After adding many questions to my survey, I eventually noticed that at some point the display of choices had changed.I’ve tried reverting to the previous version where the options are presented the way I’d like (with gaps), but when I imported (copied in) the rest of the questions I’d developed since that version, all of the choices started being displayed without the gaps again.Does anyone know why this happened, or how I can revert the way the choices are displayed? Maybe I could apply custom CSS styling? Or, (less ideal) maybe there is JS that I could apply to each question individually?

Hi, I am curious if most companies are sending all their customer profiles to XM Directory on a daily basis? Our business users want to be able to self serve and select different customers with different products for their surveys. We have a VERY large customer base sending it daily may not be feasible. Wanted to understand what other large companies are doing with their XM Directory.

Hi all, Is there a way to customise a thank you email that is sent to finished respondents? For example, can I include a copy of the respondent’s answer to specific quesitons on my survey?Also, could I have 3 different email templates that could be sent specific to Detractors, Passives and Promotors? Thanks allHarry

Have been waiting on support to follow up so I am urgently throwing this out to the community since we have to launch this survey ASAP. We have a lengthy multiple response list that is grouped by topic for easier respondent viewing.  It is setup as allowing multiple responses and the groups are randomized since that’s the only way to randomize the list it seems, which is fine.However, even though it clear says ‘Allow multiple answers,’ it is only allowing one answer.   Chat support on Friday could not figure out what was going on and elevated it, but tells me it is still pending.  Is there any rationale reason in terms of settings this would be happening? Something else we should be doing in settings?  I seemed to be working as multi select before but I can’t pinpoint what changed / when / why.  Do groupings prohibit multiple answers across groups?

We recently had to change the user type of some historical users. Since this change these users are no longer able to see the dashboard. Initially I thought this was due to the user type they shifted too, however this is not the case. Has anyone experienced this before? I’ve played around with it a bit and it seems any change to user type is causing these users to loose access to the dashboard.  My initial thoughts are that maybe this is a historical issue, as these users have been set up in Qualtrics since 2020? Open to ideas as to what is causing this.

I have 10 values and ask the user to (rank 1 for most frequent, 2 next most frequent, 3 third most frequent) in a group. When I run an export the responses have a value of 1, 2, and 3. Will someone please let me know how to recode the responses?Thank you

Is there a way to export a list of all your projects as they appear on the projects screen (type, project name, creation date, responses, etc.) into a spreadsheet? Each year, we have to submit a list of surveys we've created and it would be easier to export than type them all out.

I have an Excel file with data that I would like to import to an existing Qualtrics survey. I have coded all of the responses in the Excel file and everything is uploading fine except for the multiple choice questions where respondents could select more than one option. I need to know how to format those columns in Excel to get those responses to upload.

Hello, I have been asked to create a survey that team members can access when they need to book a service. Currently, we use a booking tool but it lacks in reporting. I'm sure that this can be done but I'm concerned with the level of initial effort as well as maintenance so I wanted to see if anyone had any feedback, best practices etc. The desired experience is (short version)Q1. Do you need 15 min or 30 min? Q2. Date Picker Calendar Q2a. 15 min takes them down a path with options from 9 am - 11:45 am (12 options total)Q2b. 30 min takes them down a path with options from 12:30 pm - 5:30 pm (10 options total)Once the slot is selected, it is no longer available (quota to be set at 1)Here's where I worry about initial effort and maintenance. 22 options per day x's 5 days a week = 110 quotas to create for ONE WEEK, plus I imagine I need display logic for the date picker (assuming it's possible, if not maybe a matrix style question?). So I have two folders, access1 and access2. Each have four images, complete, bike, btm and walking.  There are two questions. In the first question I want to show the complete image from a random folder of the two. The answer options are bike, btm and walking.In the second question I want to show the image based on the answer of the first question. So if the random complete image belongs to access2 and the respondent selects bike, then in the second question, the bike image of the access2 folder should be shown. How to do this?I first made a randomizer with two branches of embedded data. In the first branch I define the images of complete, bike, btm and walking. The same for the second branch.  But how to program the second question, follow up? 

My goal is to attempt to send notification emails 7 days before a date entered into a Flatpickr question (Response due) is due.I can’t use dates stored as embedded data like I can use Created date or Updated date within Ticket Workflows as they don’t have the same logic options. My related post about that, so maybe this ends up being a redundant post. But I’m hoping I can figure some workable hack since I haven’t figured out a way to just use a workflow to schedule an email with the ability to have logic without a triggering event. I had originally hoped to be able to use a Scheduled workflow and logic to see if Response due was within 7 days from today or not, but Scheduled workflows only support tasks and not logic.I am still trying to solve this but I’m trying to think outside of just Ticket Workflows as a way to be able to trigger this, I’m not sure if it’s even possible. Our data quality guru recently asked me about creating "honey pot" questions to help catch bots. These are questions that are "hidden" to respondents but will be picked up by bots. I use the auto-punch next to hide questions. Any thoughts on creating questions only bots would get are welcome!

I have a multiple choice question in which I’m using two loop and merge fields in the question text. Sometimes, the text in the loop and merge fields is LTR, sometimes it is RTL. Like this: To make sure the RTL messages are displayed correctly, I added dir=”rtl” and align=”right” to the RTL texts.However, while the dir attribute seems to work, I cannot get the text in row 1, field 2 to right-align with the align attribute. I’ve built an Official Complaint Form for my Compliance team and built it so they could enter initial complaint details, then with retake links, update the response and with the update ticket task, update the corresponding ticket data. On the first submission they have a date field with Flatpickr to select a date.First submissionOn second submission, they can edit the dates previously entered. So I’m using display logic to show an additional question for each date which pipes in the previously selected date and where they can select a checkbox to edit the date. Hi all,I have a multiple-choice question with 132 choices, each of which has display logic attached. The question is set to allow multiple answers, and I’ve applied validation to require exactly 3 choices (answer range set to 3–3). However, when I test the question, it only allows a single answer selection and doesn't permit multiple selections. Additionally, I cannot proceed since it expects a minimum of 3 choices.Could this issue be related to having too many display logic conditions? There are nearly 400 combinations of display logic across the 132 choices, and this question follows a matrix question.Thank you in advance for your help!
