How can I freeze the top row in a matrix question?

Hi Qualtrics users, I have a survey which contains matrices with a lot of rows. I would like to freeze the top row (with the answer options) so that when participants scroll to the lower rows, the answers remain. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks so much.

Embedding a signature in an e-mail trigger?

I'm trying to replicate a paper form that requires a signature, and then e-mail a printable copy of this form to the respondent and the administrative personnel responsible for processing the form.I am using the Signature Question field but don't know how to embed its answer as with other survey questions or embedded data.How do I embed the response to a Signature Question in an e-mail trigger? I already tried checking "Include response report" and "Show full question text" but neither of those include the signature.

Branch Logic And Embedded Data

Hello everyone,I want to design a study on Qualtrics. In the study, participants will be allowed to spend the income they earned in previous stages. There are 8 spending options given to participants. I used branch logic in the stage of deducting the expenditure from the net income. However, it did not work completely. Friendship network question

I am programming a questionnaire that will be administered offline to students from tablets in schools. Each day the team will interview more classes. The first question is a dropdown list that will be updated daily and asks the class and the name of the student. Each day I will update the list of the dropdown to have the new classes and students for the day. In a subsequent block we want to ask for the best friends of each student. We want to have a multiple choice question that asks each student “who are your best friends in the classroom?” I would like the options in this question to be the names of the students in the classroom except the student himself. I would like the list of students to update directly from the previous dropdown list question (I noticed that creating an embedded data StudentList = ${q://QID1/ChoiceGroup/DisplayedAnswers} creates a list with a combination of all class-students of the day, but I wasn’t able to clean it with Javascript). Using Authenticator to set embedded data

Hi there, using an authenticator block at the beginning of a flow, is it possible to set embedded data on a successful authentication? Specifically, the directory contact record would contain address and other data points that I would like to include in subsequent questions. Thanks!

Pre-select a multi-select question based on response to previous multi-select question

Within the same survey I ask the customer to select what products are in scope in a multi-select style question. Later within the same survey, I was to display the exact same question, with their responses showing as already pre-selected (prompting them to confirm the products within their scope) what is the best way to do this?

How to prompt all answers but one in a matrix table

Hi Qualtrics community, I’m designing a matrix table question where I want to prompt participants to answer any unanswered rows, but I want to exclude the last row "Other " from this prompt. Here are the specifics of my setup: The matrix is a single-answer per row question. The last row ("Other ") includes a text entry box. Participants should: Be prompted to answer any unanswered rows except for "Other." Always have the option to proceed even if some rows are unanswered (no forced responses) Can anyone help with a JS skript oder other solutions? Costum validation seems to work only with forcing answers… Thank you! (:

Anonymization of open questions

Hi all, we uploaded some name lists as json files in the data policy section of the adim tab. We want to make sure that no personal reference can be made in the survey responses. Unfortunately, the survey taking experience is quite bad due to long loading times of the survey pages. We assume that this is caused by an overload of lists/words (the list that are enabled for the survey contain about 500k words). Has anyone ever experienced something similar and is there any possibility to reduce loading times by having so many flagged words or would the best soultion be to reduce the number of words in these lists? Add and Subtraction

Hello everyone, I want to add two embedded data. One of the embedded data is a fixed number and the other is the addition of the income from the tasks. I can see the mathematical addition result in the console, but not on the qualtrics page. I did not understand why it’s happening. Could someone please help me with that? Thank you in advance. Best.

Import Individual Respondents Details into Survey Report

We have recently distributed a survey, and I’m working on a report, which requires a list of the respondents names, their embedded data (like email, address, etc.), and their responses for certain questions, which can be piped into the report. I don’t want a list of all the respondents, rather, I want to be able to create multiple lists, each with individual contact fields and responses. For example, in the first section of the report, I want to display all the respondents located in one state, along with (individually) their embedded data, and their responses to some specific questions. In the next section, it would be a different state. I can’t find any obvious functionality for this in Qualtrics. I can filter metrics by state, but I need to show all respondents details and their responses (particularly, their text responses to some questions), based on their state (embedded data). Would I need to somehow bucket all the respondents details into a new data field using the ‘Stats iQ’ s

Loop & Merge

Hello -I'm attempting to use the Loop & Merge feature in my survey. The use case is the user needing to enter (potentially) several iterations of the same form. The last question in my survey is "Do you have another item to submit?" which should trigger the survey to loop through the questions again. I don't understand how to set this up in this way using Loop & Merge. Has anyone else run into this scenario and have advice?Thanks!

Adding alt-text to a dynamic theme

Currently the HTML code for my logo image says the alt text is “logo”. Is there a way to change this to something more specific? Changing Distribution Email to Show Date When Survey Expires

Hi everyone, We had our surveys built by an outside firm and they had configured our email invitations to include a blurb about when the survey will expire. We have since changed the link expiry from 7 days to 14 days. This may be a silly question, but would all we have to do is change +7 to +14 in the piped text formula “${date://OtherDate/FL/+7%20day?locale=EN}” for the date to populate properly? We are pretty new to this program and just want to ensure we are doing this properly.

Randomisation for 3 arm trial

I need to randomise my participants after they have finished a questionnaire and baseline data input. I just need them to be allocated to one of three groups and for there to be a way for me to identify which group they have been allocated to. At this point they can be directed to 3 different information sheets. Can someone point me in the direction of how I do and specifically how I can identify which group each participant has been allocated to? Many thanks

How to display one of two images based on even/odd number input from an earlier question?

Hello! I’m working on a survey where users input a participant ID, and I’d like for Image A to be displayed for users with an even ID and Image B to be displayed for users with an odd ID. It doesn’t matter to me whether the images are on a new page/in a new block, so long as they are able to continue on with the rest of the survey after seeing the image. My issue: Every time I preview the survey, it goes directly from the ID question to the Passcode block, skipping over the two blocks (2 and 3) I currently have for the images. Link expired unexpectedly

I have a survey which was sent to designated colleagues who are added to a Contact in the Directories on 2 Jan. I set 3 months for them to complete. So, it shouldn’t have expired as of today (17 Jan). However, two colleagues who tried to submit their responses today informed me that the survey link has expired and couldn’t make any submission. Do you know why? How can this be sorted out?

Carry Forward responses into question and not into choices

I want to format a question like the example below and have only the options that were selected in the previous question to show up. I know I could set it up so each table has one of the choices as piped text and then do display logic, but I don’t want to have gaps in the table where a choice should be that wasn’t selected. I would like to put all the options that were selected in the previous question into the table into their own cells, or at minimum put each choice that was selected into it’s own line below the main question.

Data Structure with Question Items

I’m reviewing data issues pulled from our API integration with Qualtrics and trying to identify the root issue. (See attached image). We have four options in this particular survey. You can see the recode values on the left. On the right-hand side is what the individual responded, with “Y” being what was selected. As you can see, some users have “N” across all options, despite having selected an option. In the row highlighted, the user selected the second option, was awarded a score for it, yet in the “answer” option, it is not appearing. My guess is that this is due to the survey item option responses changing. For example, when creating a new item with 4 options, it populates options as option1, 2, 3, and 4. If you delete Option 1, and create a new option, it comes up as “option 5” rather than replacing option 1. Thus, if we are only capturing Answers 1-5, it may not be matching with Options 1-5. Is there a way to change the options back to 1-5? Another way of looking at it - if the

Disable mobile optimization in ExpertReview?

Is there a way to customize ExpertReview so that it doesn’t flag certain types of errors? ER just reviewed my latest survey and rated mobile optimization as a severe issue. While that’s an accurate assessment, it’s a moot point in my organization. About 90% of my employee population is not expected or permitted to do work-related things on personal devices, and are not issued company devices. We simply don’t care about mobile compatibility because our surveys will always be completed on laptop/desktop computers. I’d like to tell ER to skip over that bit and focus on the rest of the survey. Obviously it’s not a critical issue, but it’s still annoying.

Personalized Invitations in External Candidate Surveys

Hello community, I have a survey that will be conducted with external candidates, and we are using an integration with SuccessFactors Recruitment. I understand that use cases often recommend and favor survey-type projects in the CX module. However, I would like to know if it is possible to send personalized invitation messages based on a specific embedded data field coming from this integration. .txt import file tags

I have a .txt file I created from an excel spreadsheet. I found a list of tags to use when specifying the types of questions, answers, and so on. Is there a tag for the Matrix type? The [[Question:Matrix]] defaults to the Likert type Matrix table. I would like to specify Text Entry. Is there a tag for this or coding to use? I have 100 type Matrix type questions.
