Empty Reference Survey Issue When Passing Information Via Query Strings

Hello,Has anyone had the issue of using a reference survey multiple times within the same survey and then suddenly the questions are still showing up again, but the answers that were selected earlier in the survey suddenly stop displaying? The answers need to be re-displayed for the purposes of updating/editing previous responses. Historically, I have had random, glitchy things happen with reference surveys, but it really is the best option I know of because I have to potentially re-display the reference survey several times for each record in my main survey and I have a lot of logic that I need to re-use over and over again in the survey flow. The only solutions I have found so far are temporary but eventually break again. If I remove the survey from a certain part of the survey, re-add it and then publish, the previous participants answers start showing again, but it eventually stops working correctly. I can also just add the blocks within the reference survey, but then I lose th

How to use javascript to check whether the two random selections are equal in qualtrics

Hi all, I’m setting up an online experiment and using embedded data as a randomizer. What I’m trying to do is that I have a list of 8 portrait pictures and I want my participant to randomly view two pictures and then pick one they want to interact with later.So now I have entered these pictures as 2 lists of embedded data, and every entry will randomly draw a picture from each list. However, since the pictures are the same, there is going to be a case where participants view two identical portrait pictures (see attached). Does anyone have any suggestions on how to avoid this? If so, could you please advise me on how to achieve it?

I published a survey but got 'Sorry, this survey is not currently active.' in return, why?

I wanted to preview my survey but it appeared on the preview mode that 'Sorry, this survey is not currently active.'. Then, I published the survey, but I kept receiving the same message. However, I checked my survey blocks independently and I could see the preview for those. In sum, I can preview the survey in bits but not as a whole, and it gives me that error message. What can I do?

Is there a way to disable results from being retrieved through the Report.php URL? This endpoint is completely open to the public and we do not want anyone viewing sensitive reponses.

Distribution History: "Email Not Sent"

I sent out a survey to 66 recipients. After the emails were sent out, I noticed that 51 out of the 66 were sent. When I checked the distribution history, 15 of the contacts had the value of "Email Not Sent" under the "Status" column. Then, I checked the emails in the distribution history to see if I noticed a pattern that would explain why these email were not sent and I did not find any. Can anybody explain what this means (some emails were not sent) and why this happens? Thank you.

Is there a way to add a text box requirement AFTER a multiple choice question?

I'm wondering if I can add a required text box question after a multiple choice? So after the person makes the selection, they are then required to fill out more information before moving on?

Survey active in 1 language - adding languages while gathering responses

Dear community members, I am trying to reach street musicians from over the world. I have 1 survey, translated in different languages, and I want all the responses to end up in the same data file. Some translations are ready to be used, others I still need to perfect with an official translator. So I use the feature of Qualtrics to have my survey available to respondents in multiple languages, but I want to start receiving responses while continuing to add new languages (as soon as I perfected the remaining translations).. but is this possible when the survey is already "active"/ in the air?Besides that, is there a limit to the amount of translations that can be added? Thanks!

Creating reports that look like scored survey summaries

In "scored" surveys, I can activate the score summary feature to display a summary of results to the survey respondent. Can I replicate the same look/style of that score summary but as a downloadable report?On a similar note, I created a custom field to calculate the total % scored result and wish to embed that in a post survey alert email. Does anyone have an example of embedded data syntax from a custom field?

How do I decode the groups in results from Pick, Group and Rank question?

I have a pick, group, and rank question in my survey where participants pick their top 3 favorite images out of a group of 10 images. In the results tab, the groups of 3 have been given values that I have no idea how to decode.For instance, how do I figure out which 3 images are represented by "IM_d0xBEzvntp7JWeO" ? When I hover over the bar, I see my html that contains the img src. However, I can't find this information anywhere other than the hover state. I can't copy the img src from the hover state, so in order to figure out what img it is, I guess I would have to take a screenshot of the hover and type that into my browser.Thank you in advance!

Carrying Forward Multiple Selection Choices As Text For Series of Other Questions

I'm currently working on a survey that is meant to ask students about their reasons for and experiences with on-campus employment. At one point, if they expressed they work on campus, we ask them to pick which departments they work for from a multiple selection choice. From there we carry forward those choices to ask about how many hours per week and how many semesters, which is easy enough.What I am having a problem with, however, is that I also want to ask for each department they selected why they are working for that department. So what I need is the carry forward/pipe in/display/whatever appropriate approach is needed to take the departments they selected in a question and set up a series of multiple selection questions with each department in a separate question.Thank you ahead of time for any help you can provide.

Is there a way to see the quantity of data collected from each participant?

I know that when the data is exported you can see ‘progress’ and if they have finished the survey or not, however, that does not indicate how much of the survey the participant actually filled out. I am wondering this for when it comes time for data cleaning - will I have to go through all of the responses to see if participants have filled out at least 80% of the survey (to keep their data), or is there an alternative way to see the quantity of data collected from each participant?

Can I limit the selecting times for each option?

In my survey, I attempt to ask my respondents to select 3 different time slots, and after each option is chosen for 3 times (because each time slot will be available for three participants), then this option cannot be chosen . Can I achieve this on Qualtrics? Thank you.

Same Group Condition Across Surveys

So I'm working on a longitudinal study. We have two groups (intervention and control group) and want participants to be in the same group for each survey. Those in intervention group are seeing two things that control group isn't. I've done up the survey flow for second survey but not sure if I've done it right that it'll keep participants in same group. If someone could help that would be great.

Export file library links

Hi all, I have a pretty specific question: I'm using the Loop & Merge functionality to loop over question in which I want to show 60 different (short) videos.I can upload the videos to the Qualtrics File Library, but to then get the links I have to open each video individually to get the link to the file, write that down somewhere, and then put it in the Loop & Merge field. Is there some way to just export a list of filenames and links in bulk from a folder in the Library (csv, txt, xlsx, etcetera would all be fine with me). Alternatively even a button in the library that copies a file link to the clipboard or something would already help. Kind regards,Kerwin

Confidentiality of Qualtrics Surveys

I'm fairly new to Qualtrics, but was asked a question about confidentiality by a victims advocate/violence prevention advocate that heard from a "...colleague in a similar role at another university that their area utilizes Qualtrics for intake and case management purposes and that it’s confidential in that only folks with the credentials to access their Qualtrics accounts are confidential advocates."So, I'm wondering if that's possible...for surveys and things to be completely confidential. Carry forward displayed choices from multiple questions

Hello- Say I have three successive multiple choice questions each with a large number of choices from which a random subset of five are displayed. How can I then create a follow-up question that will show choices consisting of all of the fifteen choices displayed earlier (five each from three questions)?Carry forward only works with a single question. The documentation suggests manually inputting every potential choice and adding display logic to each, but this is tedious and error-prone with a large number of choices. Is there any other way?

Hyperlinks not working

I see this is a question asked frequently. I've checked the html and it looks right to me (not an expert by any means). E.g., http://www.bgch.com" rel="noopener" target="_blank">Boys & Girls Club of Hawai‘iI have a list of organizations, each with a hyperlink to their respective sites. Sometimes a hyperlink will work in the editing screen, sometimes not (it's not consistent). The links never work in preview or in the published survey.Any clues on how to fix?

How to validate matching email addresses and other text entry questions?

We have a survey that is used as a student application. I get a fair number of applicants who put in invalid email addresses and/or put themselves as a contact name when it should be someone else. What is the best way to validate using the following as an example:Q1: Enter your emailQ2: Re-enter your email and if it matches Q1, it will pass validation. Q3: Enter your nameQ4: Enter the name of the contact person and if it does NOT match the name in Q3, it will pass validation.

How to require an answer for exactly TWO columns in a side-by-side question?

I'm trying to figure out how to require participants to answer exactly two out of three questions. It doesn't matter which two questions they answer, but they must answer two. Currently, my three questions are organized in a side-by-side question with one statement and three columns. Each column has a unique drop-down list (as each question has many answers). Is there custom validation I can use to require participants to select an answer for two of the three dropdowns (regardless of which two)?I am open to trying different methods for this, including creating three separate questions in one block, but I can't seem to find a way to require answers to exactly two questions when there are three questions to choose from.

Authenticator gives 'this question requires a response' error with field filled in.

We have an authenticator with two fields. The first is prefilled in the url. The second is filled in by the respondent and checked against the contact list.It works fine if the second field is correct, but if the user enters and incorrect response, gets the standard message and then enters the correct value, they get the 'this question requires a response' message.I'm thinking that it is somehow losing the prefill value, even though it is still present in the URL.If the screen is refreshed, it works fine again.

Loop in a loop

Hello,I have a problem with a survey, where I need to use a loop within a loop if possible. The participants will go through a short first block (B1), that does not repeat. The last question of B1 asks (in the form of a free entry text) how many articles they found on a different platform. This number could be anything between 0 and 1000. The second block (B2) then should repeat as many times, as many articles the participant found. Following a first few questions, B2 also ends with a free entry text question: how many projects does that article contain. This answer could again be anything between 0 and 20. The next questions should repeat as many times as many projects the participant indicated, but also by articles. E.g. if there are 500 articles and every one of them mentions 3 projects, then the project-related questions should repeat 1500 times. At the moment, these project-related questions are in a separate block (B3) and I have tried to set the Loop logic with making the last q

Qualtrics XM mobile app problems?

Hi,I'm trying to log in to the Qualtrics XM app.However, when I click "login with username/password", I am getting an error message "no healthy upstream". When I click "we'll send you an email link", I get an error that there was a problem sending the email...Are there problems with the app at this time?on the Application Status page I can see there are problems with login on the CA1 region, I don't know if that is related to the app or not. My system is in the EU region. But the login page in the app doesn't know that without knowing any credentials.
