Is there any way to provide the default choices for a lot of questions at once?

I have a use-case where I would like to design a survey to get labels for sentence-annotation. So - given a sentence/question, I would like to get the correct annotation for that and track the time it took the survey taker on that question/sentence.Since Qualtrics does not have a Tagging = "Highlight + Text Entry" option, I thought that the best way for this survey is to design a Text Entry question that is single line and has a default choice which is the same as the Question.Example:Q) How is you ?Text Entry Box Deafult Choice: "How is you ?"So the Default Answer choice is the same as the Question. Now an annotator can make a correction and then submit. I have been trying to use the Simple/Advanced TXT to import the default choice text but I don't think there is an option for that. It is not possible for me to go through 100-1000 questions and manually copy paste the question into the default-choice! Neither, to write individual code for each question block. Plus, it seems if I want

Excel Spreadsheet Data Entry Upload

Do you have any future plans to install a feature where survey users/respondents may enter data via Excel spreadsheet upload instead of manual data entry? This would save a lot of time, especially for your clients who serve educational institutions who have their responses via Excel spreadsheets and could therefore upload their data responses. This would also be very beneficial for extensive or long surveys, as it would save time.

Adding variables via CSV

Hi all, I have a survey which has a respondent ID (RESPID) for each case, and all associated data for each respondent. Am I able to import a new variable (for each existing respondent) via CSV file, and match to the survey using RESPID? I.e. my CSV file to import has 2 columns:RESPID (one for each respondent in the survey)NEWVARAll I want is NEWVAR added as a new variable after I merge the data - data should be matched using RESPID. Default choices for completing the same block more than once

In survey flow, some of our responders may complete survey blocks more than once. However, when they are taken to the same block the second time, their initial responses are already there (multiple choice, write-in, constant sum, etc.) I see that each response has it's own unique data column in the CSV file, so I know it's not being overwritten. If someone has already responded to a block and go back to it again in the same survey, can I revert the block to it's default state instead of showing previous selections?

Student preference survey construction

I am reaching out to the community for ideas on how to construct a survey for student preference of research advisor. Here's the purpose. From a list of approx thirty professors, students need to rank their top five preferences of who they would like to work with on their research project. There would ideally be an option to input someone not on the list, but that could be a different question if necessary. The question then becomes how to fairly pair students and advisors based on their selections and if that can somehow be built into the survey. We prefer that priority not be first come, first serve, as in, the order in which respondents completed the survey, since there maybe accessibility issues that make that unfair. Our idea is to randomly select the priority order, which could be done outside of the survey, using a random number generator to assign an order, as in, respondent x was randomly assigned number 1, so they get their first preference, then respondent y was randomly ass

one time slot for one participant

Hi! I would like to post a survey where participants can sign in for an appointment. I have created already two questions: one is a calendar to pick up a date and another is a multiple choice question to pick up a time slot. As only a participant books certain date and time, I want the slot to disapear for another individual so that one time slot is only for one participant. How to do that?

List of Countries Display in Reports

I used qualtrics' stock "list of countries" drop down question in my survey. I would like to display these results in a report which I will be sharing internally. When I try to create a visualization in my report, I get the error that the question has "193 values which exceeds the maximum (150)". I dont expect to get responses from more than 20-30 countries max, so I dont need it to display all 193 options. What Id like to do is limit the display to only the response options that have actually been chosen. Basically, I want to tell it that theres no need to worry about listing out all the response options that have 0%. Is there a way to do that? If not, is there any way to display this data in the report?

How to remove someone from a duplicate survey distribution?

I'm distributing surveys via survey distribution automations linked to contact import automations. Whenever a contact import automation runs, all contacts in the automation are added to a survey distribution that sends them a series of surveys over the next week.We added someone to the uploaded contact list twice on two separate consecutive days; this in effect meant that they were added to two separate survey distribution lists and are getting duplicates of each survey. Day 1: Survey ADay 2: Survey A and Survey BDay 3: Survey B and Survey CIs there a way to remove them from one of the survey distributions so that they stop getting duplicate emails?

Question text is not being saved unless the Rich Content Editor is open?

In the Question text field, it says, "Click to write the Question Text" however, clicking and then writing the text, is not possible since nothing is saved. I actually need to click then open the Rich Content Editor to write Question text. This is not the case for answer choice text fields, so I was wondering if this is normal behavior? Also if text that is already in the question field is clicked on, and then clicked away from, it erases the field. It makes it confusing to write text and easy to lose text.

Master Questions

I've used a feature on QuestionPro which allows you to edit master questions which then apply those changes automatically across multiple surveys that reference that saved question. Assuming this is not possible in Qualtrics – as according to your service support – can we please introduce this function. It would appear to be pretty basic, and is offered by your considerably cheaper competitors.

Log-In Issues

I was on a free trial of Qualtrics and upgraded yesterday. Ever since I upgraded, I have been unable to login."We are currently undergoing maintenance. Please try again later.A report is generated with error tag [0d7f9d12]."The error tag is always different, but the rest of the message is the same.Any idea how to fix this? Or what the problem might be?

Revisit random loop and merge question

My survey has two parts. First, the respondent sees multiple instances of a block that prompt him for some numeric answer. Something like: "In location X, the average daily temperature is _ ." I want to randomly select 10 out of 100 locations, and was planning to do this using a loop & merge. Later on in the survey, I want to revisit one of these locations, and I also need access to the respondent's answer. Is there a way to get access to one location fields that was chosen during the loop & merge, and also access its corresponding answer?

How to randomize the order of a variable and use that specific order for the rest of the experiments

Is there actually a soft-limit of 100 questions in Qualtrics surveys?

Qualtrics support recently told us, "...we recommend keeping all surveys below 100 questions for best functionality." Other survey software easily handles surveys that contain thousands of questions; this is common where there is a lot of branching logic - the subject typically sees just a fraction of all the questions in a single session.Can someone at Qualtrics tell us if this 100 question soft-limit is for real?

Can I delay and hide a question after a specific amount of clicks?

Hey everyone,I want to add in one block a video that runs the whole time. Two minutes in a hot spot question should appear and 1) I don't know how to make this delay.2) I want the participants to have five clicks only on the hot regions (10 in total). For now, they are still able to click more than five times and then qualtrics just says you clicked too many times, take away some clicks. I would rather like it if the question just disappears after the five clicks, while the video continues running. Is there a way to implement these two specification with JAVA? Happy about help as it is my first time using it!

Increment Quota only when survey is completed

Hi,Say I have the following quota:I am trying to find a way where the Respondent count increases from 0 to 1 only when the first respondent completes the survey (i.e. reaches the end of the survey).I have been trying to find a way to set that condition but I came up short. Any ideas? Or do I have no choice but to manually create a last question where the respondent clicks "end survey" for example to trigger the increment?

Hyperlink in the same window?

I want to include a sentence that reads like "please click here to see the description again" and I was able to save an image of the descriptions I want to show and insert a hyperlink to "here" however, I can't seem to find the right option/setting I want. Essentially, I want this image of the descriptions to be enlarged or pop up in the same window, and when respondents are done with the description they can click on the image again to make it go away or implement something so they can go back to the question they were about to answer. Tried different options under "Target" window but not what i'm exactly looking for.. Is this even doable?

Discrete choice experiment with pictures

Dear All,This is the first time I use Qualtrics because people recommended it as a very good tool for the discrete choice experiment I would like to design. I have a collection of 16 different drawings of urban design (.jpeg) and would like to display 2 out of these 16 in a random manner in each question. With a tick box under each drawing for respondents to mark the one they prefer. It should be a random process without replacement, i.e. all 16 drawings are displayed in 8 questions. Does anybody know how to do that in Qualtrics?Thank you so much for your help!Arie

How to randomize two blocks but spaced apart for within subjects?

Hi I have two conditions1) Classic2) AdaptiveI want the order of these to be randomly assigned to each participant. However, I need to space them apart. So example:A participant sees classic condition first. Then sees a set of different blocks and then finally sees the adaptive condition (based on what he was randomly assigned first). ORA participant sees adaptive condition first. Then sees a set of different blocks and then finally sees the classic condition (based on what he was randomly assigned first). Adding embedded data into the personal links spreadsheet?

Is there a way to add data embedded in a contact list to the spreadsheet of personal links? For example if I have an embedded data element named "CourseNumber" in my contact list, can that embedded data also show up in the spreadsheet of personal links.
