Randomly select loop & merge row based on condition

I have a survey with two conditions and a loop & merge that should randomly select one row out of four (dependent on the condition). Conceptually I am thinking of this as a l&m with 8 rows composed of two groups of four and depending on the condition, and one of these four rows should be selected.It is not feasible for me to do a four-row l&m with embedded data because I am using many columns. I could possibly consider using two separate l&m blocks, but I would like to avoid this if possible. Any advice on how to approach this problem would be appreciated.

daily automated covid pre-screen for camp

Hi! I have a very basic knowledge of Qualtrics and I need help! I think this should be an easy question to assist with for someone with a little more Qualtrics knowledge and experience!?? I'm a Camp Director and am using Qualtrics for our daily COVID-19 pre-screen at our day camp. We'll have about 80 kids on site each day, with a 15-minute drop off window. This year, we're trying a 'contactless' drop off, so rather than parents writing down their signature, we're hoping that completing the pre-screen will serve as their 'sign in'. I want the survey to automatically be emailed (I wish text was an option, but our district account doesn't allow) to parents every morning at 8am I see the "Actions" section allows me to set a Task where I can set up the email. I tried this (just this morning at 8:50am) and inserted a few of my own personal email accounts and didn't receive the link at 9am? Maybe this wasn't enough time to update? Or maybe it'll all work tomorrow! I understand I have to uploa

How to Force Responses to all statements in a Matrix-type questions, but not Other: text entry

I'm looking for help figuring out how to force a response to all statements in a matrix-type question, but not for an "Other: text entry" statement, UNLESS someone actually writes in a text response.From other questions in the community, I was able to find how to do custom validation logic statements to force people to respond to all of the other statements/rows EXCEPT the other:text entry one. However, I can't figure out how to force them to pick an importance option IF they put in a response to the Other: text entry row.Here's a screenshot of the question itself and a truncated logic statement I tried. It seems that the issue is with the very last logic set.Thanks!

Setting Field Values in Loop & Merge

Hi there,I have a survey where I am using loop and merge to show some text to participants and ask the same two questions for every piece of text. Right now, the survey is working great, but I am getting ready to run more of these same survey and am looking for a way to save time and avoid human error.The text I'm using for the Loop & Merge comes from a csv and I have thousands of rows. Each piece of text has an associated ID in this csv.As it is today, I can turn on Loop & Merge for a block and in the Field 1, I can simply copy and paste in all of my data from the csv. The qualtrics UI automatically detects the line breaks and splits each row of text into a new row for Field 1. When it does this, the row is assigned a value starting at 1 and counting up. These row values end up being used in the column names when I download the data. I would like to bring over the associated IDs from my csv to replace these values which makes analysis much easier for me. I'm sure there is a way to get

How do I pipe text from a drilldown answer to a new question

Hi Everyone,I want to use piped text to remind my survey respondents of the answer from a previous question. I thought this was pretty simple, but using the following code, the only thing that shows up is the word COUNTY, not the actual County they chose in the previous question.Can someone help me figure out how to do this and determine where I went wrong?Thanks!

Hi there! My name is Julia, I'm a student from the Netherlands and I'm the worst with technology. I hope someone could help me with this thing I'm trying to make Qualtrics do, I'd be so happy! My question is about hyperlinks in Qualtrics. So I created two versions of a presentation, and I'm wondering if it is possible in Qualtrics to randomly assign one of those two versions to the subjects. They can't know there are not one but two versions of them. It would be amazing and very much time-saving if Qualtrics would randomly (and balanced!) assign one of these two versions to the subjects. How can I simplify a complex email trigger setup?

Hello all,I'm working on a project in Qualtrics which is essentially a request form for a variety of different budget requests for our org. The first page of the form is a multi-select question of 7 categories, and the user can select as many categories as they feel relate to their request. Each of the 7 categories has a module built out for it, and some are relatively detailed. For the simpler ones, I summarize them all in a descriptive text question and carry that forward to embedded data (and then on to a contact list trigger, but that part is not important right now). Some of the more complex modules will ask how many items a person is requesting, and each item requested might have 5 or 6 fields of info collected. There might be three modules with that variable number of items requested. So, ultimately, a lot of potential rows of info potentially collected from one submission.One of the most important functions of this process is the email trigger form the submission to the budget

Embedded data defined in Javascript doesn't show up in responses

Hello,In my survey, I define embedded data in JavaScript. I use the following type of script:Qualtrics.SurveyEngine.setEmbeddedData("EmbeddedDataFieldName", jsVar);However, none of the embedded data fields are visible in the responses - not event the one embedded data field which is defined in Javascript, but then used in the survey flow (I have reasons to define it there, and it is not possible to define it in the survey flow instead, given what I want it to do).What can I do about this? Older suggestions mention ticking "Use legacy ViewResults format" when experting in csv, but this seems outdated.P.S. I have already seen these two similar questions, but their answers do not solve my issue.P.P.S. I may have posted the question in the wrong forum. Is there a way for Actions to activate WITHOUT participants submitting their responses

Hi all,I am finding that a number of my participants are not submitting their responses properly, but more getting to the debrief form and leaving it there - the 99% crew as I call them. This, therefore, stops my action from activating to send a second survey to their embedded email 24 hours afterwards. Is there a way to activate the action (with the email embedded data) WITHOUT participants submitting their responses after the final question?Note - I do not wish to change the "partial completion" option as this will stop participants who may wish to take longer to complete the study. Any help would be gratefully appreciated. I would be happy to clarify any further points if needed! Thank you in advance.

Can I use recode values in a question to have display logic in another question?

Hi All,I want to know if I can use recode values in a question to create display logic in another question. Example: Question 1 is to rate a product. Rating is from 0 to 10 (0= Extremely dissatisfied, 5= Neutral and 10= Extremely satisfied)Question 2 would be asking the participant why the rating provided is low? Low being the ratings (0-5)I recoded Q#1 as mentioned in the below screenshot, i.e '0-5 as 0' and '6-10 as 1'.Can I use display logic like show this question if the recoded value is 0?

Merging multiple text-entry data into a single embedded data for participants BEFORE survey end

Hi Community,I am looking to collect text-entry data for a project, but I was wondering whether it is possible to merge this text-entry data into a single embedded data field to display to participants BEFORE the survey is complete (so not using 'concat' after the responses are submitted).I shall provide an example: So below are three different bits of text entry data that I am collecting (a code they are given, their initials, and their age):Text-Entry 1: A00000001Text-Entry 2: RJText-Entry 3: 26 If I were to concat these after they were recorded, I can end up with something like: A00000001_RJ_26 <-- which is the desired appearance of a new code I wish to display to participants. However, this cannot be displayed as it happens after the survey ends. I would need the data to be merged into something similar to the desired appearance above, which can then go into an embedded data field and then displayed to participants at the end of the survey. Is this a possibility? I have had a look

Theme in Look & Feel Subsection

I cannot access any options (Layout, General, Style, Background, etc.) below Theme in the Look & Feel subsection is selected. Those options are greyed out and inaccessible. I have selected a Dynamic Theme (Blank). No Static Themes are presented as options (which is OK!). Just wondering how to get past Theme and maneuver to Layout, General, etc. to improve my draft/unpublished survey at this point. Thanks!

Rounding piped text

Hello, I'm trying to round the piped text WeightedMean to 2 decimal places. It works totally fine when it is in a custom end of survey message -- but when I insert the same code into an email trigger message, it doesn't seem to work at all. Here's what I've done: $e{ round (gr://SC_719uI6wyHgEEi7c/WeightedMean , 2 ) } Even when I copy and paste the message from my library into the email trigger -- the end of survey message displays no problem but the email that I receive from the trigger gives me an invalid expression message for the weighted mean.

Hello, I am creating a survey that I would like to display a custom report to the respondent at the end. The report should be tailored based on scoring categories and include not only a summary of their responses but also visualizations and feedback based on the score. How do I create an open ended response after a multiple choice answer in my survey?

HiI have searched for the answer to this but I cannot find it unfortunately. I would like to do the following in my survey:Ask a question requiring a yes/no multiple choice answer, with a box underneath asking to explain their answer. How do I do this please, I only seem to be able to choose one or the other, multiple choice or text box, and not both in the same question.Thanks for your help.

Problem with using randomizer in combination with branches (for a within subjects design)

Hi, I am setting up an experiment with 2 conditions that each participant needs to go though. The order of these conditions needs to be randomised for each participant. I have separate instruction blocks for each condition and then separate blocks for the actual tasks (these blocks use a loop and I don't want the instruction to be repeated for each loop, hence the separate blocks). For now I put both the instruction blocks in a randomiser and put the branches that will then guide the participants to the appropriate tasks outside of the randomiser (to avoid randomisation of my branches as well). However, after they have finished one of these randomised conditions, I actually want the participants to be shown the instruction block of the condition that they haven't done yet, after which they will be branched to that condition's tasks as well. I can't just have the randomiser present both the instruction blocks, as these will then both be shown before participants are branched to their ac

"Export data" not possible - why?

I am working on a survey that was shared with me by a collaborator. For some reason, instead of the usual "Import and Export" button under the "Data and Analysis" tab I only see a "Import data" button. See attached screenshot. Same problem for my collaborator What is going on here? Is there any other way to download the data?

Schedule a thank you email

Hi, how do I schedule a thank you message to go out each time someone completes a survey. For example, if 5 have completed it so far - i can send them a thank you note. But, I want it to be so I don't have to do it each time someone completes it. I want to automate it so the note is sent out automatically. I tried the schedule thank you note but, it seems that I would need to do it each time. And, I don't want to wait until the end of the survey fielding to send the notes - I want them going out right away.

Use alternate text for customized embedded data links?

In embedded data I store customized URLs for participants within my survey as I use my survey as an approval flow chain. Is there a way to change the way the embedded link displays? Hello! I have the question below: Is there a way by where if participants choose little or no value, that they are not allowed to choose any other answer? Also, is there a way of making sure that if participants choose answers other than 'little or no value', that they can only choose 3? I know how to limit this on a non rank question, but cannot find the option for a rank question. Thanks1

Hello,i would show the answer choices in a question, based on an answer from another question, any hints on that?i.e. Q1 includes 5 choices, and Q2 includes 16 choices, if Q1, answer 1 is selected, then i would show one answers 1,2,3,4 from Q2 and i would keep Q2 with the 16 choices for the sake of analysis.P.S. the other option of splitting Q2 with different answers groups and add a display logic will not work, as in Q3 i would include all displayed answers from Q2, and carry forward works only with one question.. :) hope i didn't make it very complicated :D Best,Ahmed
