Custom Code

Hi,I have the next doubt. I am creating a multiple question that allows multipe answers like this: What I want is to include on this question a JavaScript that able to go to the next question automatically when is selected 3 options. So, in that case, people should not require to endorse more. Is there a way to trigger that when it mets that condition?

I am wondering if anyone knows of a way to add a hyperlink to the logo within custom survey theme.  The intent here is to make a survey feel more legitimate and integrated into our web experience. Our survey’s are emailed, so not looking to set up an intercept which we have separately to these programs.  This enables users to click the logo on any survey page to take them back to our organisations main website.  If possible I assume it requires custom CSS code, which I’d need to get help doing.  Hopeful to check if feasible before engaging more on this.

I am using a matrix table with allow entry text function. For some questions I want to save the text. I found that I can use piped text of one of those question, for example using ${q://QID330/ChoiceTextEntryValue/3} I am trying to save the text in a variable in java. So, I try to use the following codes that i see in other posts:var  itemtext= "${q://QID330/ChoiceTextEntryValue/3}";var  itemtext=  jQuery("#QID330 input[type=text]").eq(0).val();var itemtext= jQuery("#QID330 option:selected").text(); But, none one works, any idea what can work for this?

Dear Forum, the current situation: I have some JavaScript code running, that embeds a Chatbot into the survey. This code also fetches the number of words the user has put in, as well as the number of words that the bot responded with and displays these numbers dynamically. As these are important variables for my analysis later on, I do not only need these numbers to be displayed during the survey, but I need these numbers to be added to the “answers” given to the question, to perform calculations and regressions afterwards. Good news is, I have created embedded variables in the survey flow, declaring these as numbers, and I am able to update these embedded variables via my JS code. I have also access to these numbers in the Data & Analysis tab, but not via the Results tab. The current problem:Is there a way, to get this embedded data into the results tab too, so I do not run the risk of having to match the numbers to the respective response by hand? I have attached a stripped down ve

Hi there, I’m trying to do something I felt would be simple and has lead me into a fun but time-consuming rabbit hole! I’m piping choices from a multi-select into questions asking respondents to categorize them from a predetermined list of categories. The JS below works as intended. My issue comes in with data analysis: we want to know out of those who chose each option, what category do they see it fitting in… Based on what I’ve done below, it's impossible to know what choice they picked from Q1 when looking at the data export for Q2-4; Q2-4 in the data export shows me the answer, but there’s nothing that indicates what text was piped in (unless you do it manually...). This survey will be over 200 responses. Is there a way to record the response from Q1 and associate it with the answer in Q2-4? Is there another (more efficient) way to approach this? Other information: we don’t need to know anything with ranking (1st choice vs 3rd choice). We’re having them select the 3 most appealing

I want to add a response requirement (request response), however if I select this I can see that I am not able to apply custom validation as well which I require. Is there a way to do both?Thank you, Kate

Hi everyone,Like the title says , i want customize the formulary option. Something like this:  In one line , have 3 open text questions. thanks,

Hi,I am a PhD candidate conducting a large scale anonymous survey with incentives. On the second day of its launch, we had over 80 fraud responses within a span of one hour. My current license does not include bot detection.I have implemented features such as “prevent multiple submissions” and I am trying to learn more about “honey pot” questions. Could someone explain to me how to create such questions? I've seen the codes for it (on Qualtrics community) but the code is still visible when I click preview and I thought they should be hidden? If anyone's willing to answer me here or zoom with me for extra help and advise, I would really appreciate it. My survey has been on pause for a week and my research is time sensitive, so any help would be appreciated. Thank you very much in advance.Kind regards,Rotana

Hello, I need to create a survey with blue background and white fonts. I was able to do that for most questions, but for a slider, I could not change the color of labels. Can someone help please?  Example below. I need to change “never” “sometimes”, etc. into white.

I'm planning on conducting an experiment where participants compare two graphics against a reference graphic. To my knowledge, the current Qualtrics capabilities do not allow two images to be placed side-by-side. I tried putting them side-by-side in an photo editing software first, and then uploading them to Qualtrics. However, the images come out very small because of the required dimensions of the Qualtrics site. Does anyone have suggestions, or Java code that I can use to accomplish this? Thanks in advance! -Castle

Hello everyone, I have a very simple question: In my survey I recoded the values like in this picture below: But when I go in the look and feel, style, custom CSS to make it work the label doesn’t correspond to the recode. Can someone help me understand this : label#QID10-7-label.q-checked, where does the 7 come from, this should be 1 as for the recode.  Thank you very much

How would I change the border colour of the boxes? How would I change the colour of the example text? How would I round the corners on the boxes? As always thanks for your help.👊

Hi EveryoneHope you’re well.I have a multiple choice question (allow one answer) with some custom JavaScript.This is the JavaScript.Qualtrics.SurveyEngine.addOnload(function(){ /*Place your JavaScript here to run when the page loads*/});Qualtrics.SurveyEngine.addOnReady(function(){jQuery("#"+this.questionId+" .TextEntryBox").css("width", "100%");jQuery("#"+this.questionId+" .InputText").css("width", "100%");var qid = this.questionId; jQuery('#'+qid+' .TextEntryBox').css({"visibility":"hidden"});jQuery('#'+qid+' input:text').css({"visibility":"hidden"});jQuery("#"+qid+" [type='radio']").change(function(){jQuery('#'+qid+' .TextEntryBox').css({"visibility":"hidden"});jQuery('#'+qid+' input:text').css({"visibility":"hidden"}); if(jQuery(this).prop("checked") == true){ var v1 = jQuery(this).attr("id"); jQuery("[id*='"+v1+"~TEXT']").css({"visibility":"visible"}); }else{ var v1 = jQuery(this).attr("id"); jQuery("[id*='"+v1+"~TEXT']").val(''); jQuery("[id*='"+v1+"~TEXT']").css({"visibi

An user open the survey on multiple tab simultaneously now we want to prevent him to continue on other tabs if s/he has already completed the survey.

Hi Could someone give me some quick help with something pretty basic - I want to implement Select2 on a Qualtrics survey, so that respondents can multi-select from a drop-down, but I'm not quite sure how to set it up. I've added link href="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/select2/4.0.6-rc.0/css/select2.min.css" rel="stylesheet" / script src="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/select2/4.0.6-rc.0/js/select2.min.js" /script to my survey header - is that correct? And then in my multi-select question I have this added as JS: Qualtrics.SurveyEngine.addOnReady(function() { $('.js-example-basic-multiple').select2(); }); But that's not doing much other than showing the answer choices in a box, so I must be missing a step. Do I need to add the css script too somehow and somewhere? What is this and how do I do it?

How to enable captcha at the beginning of the survey.

I am trying to add mobile-friendly tooltips using the following instructions: https://osvaldas.info/elegant-css-and-jquery-tooltip-responsive-mobile-friendlyIt is working fine on my desktop, but I can't get it to work on mobile devices. I've looked through every community post I could find that uses these instructions and I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Here is what I've added to the Custom CSS Editor under Look and Feel:#tooltip{    text-align: center;    color: #fff;    background: #111;    position: absolute;    z-index: 100;    padding: 15px;}     #tooltip:after /* triangle decoration */    {        width: 0;        height: 0;        border-left: 10px solid transparent;        border-right: 10px solid transparent;        border-top: 10px solid #111;        content: '';        position: absolute;        left: 50%;        bottom: -10px;        margin-left: -10px;    }         #tooltip.top:after        {            border-top-color: transparent;            border-bottom: 10px

I’ve searched and searched and just haven’t found what I’m looking for.  I want to widen the area where the statements are and close up the spacing between the response options in the question below.

I was wondering if there is a way in Qualtrics to create a button in the corner of the survey so that participants can change a font that is used in the survey that will suit them more (for instance to Comic Sans). I will be working with participants who may have dyslexia and although I am using a dyslexia-friendly font in the survey, people may have a preference for a different font, so I want to give them a chance to choose one. Thank you!

I have a legal agreement customers have to consent to in my survey. My legal team want me to add a force scroll before customers click “I agree”. I have already added the legal agreement (several pages long) into a text box and added a required “I agree” button. How can I enable that?

I need to change some text boxes background color to show administrative section.  I see a post on there from 4 years ago, but that CSS code is not working for me.  Has anyone successfully been able to do this? If so, would you mind sharing your code?

In a text entry box question, is it possible to add a standard text that disappears when the respondent starts typing? I'd like to add a warning such as: “Please note that your answers will be registered verbatim” or something like that.

I would like to change some error message text such as the one shows when the answer is requested, it says"There is 1 unanswered question on this page. Would you like to continue"I want to modify the text (and also in the translated languages)Thanks

I am looking to add a label inside a text entry box that says "Describe". Can anyone provide help?

Hello and good morning! I’m wondering how I can set up so if I have a multiselect question with 9 answer choices but want to unselect a previously selected answer if the user selects more than 2 choices. Thanks in advance-Anthony
