Exactly how do create Divergent Likert charts like it says we can do here: here from 5 point Likert data?Currently my survey and Dashboard was set-up with some unipolar some bipolar 5pt scales, but all with 1-5 values.I can't work out how to centre neutrals around a line and sort by sum of positive values. Has anybody done this?

Hello everyone, We have received two survey responses (for surveys that have personalized links) that were missing all embedded data. The recipients had valid IP addresses, so those were not survey previews or anonymous response types. The personalized survey links were distributed per email to those respondents. After checking with the Qualtrics support, it appears that the most likely cause of missing embedded data are privacy extensions in the respondents’ browsers that messed with the respondent’s link. In the first case, two "&" values were inserted in the URL on the respondent’s side. This broke the link between the distribution and the contact list which had been the reason for not pulling any ED from the contact list.In the second case, the URL that the respondent used was shortened to the bare minimum, excluding the part that comes after the survey ID in the survey URL.This made it impossible to identify the respondent. Did anyone else encounter similar issues? Hello!I have a side-by-side question where each statement has a text entry box where respondents will input a name. I then have several columns with dropdown questions. One of the options from one of these dropdown questions is “Other”, which I have a follow up question for that asks for clarification.I am trying to have the text entry for the names carry forward into the follow up side-by-side question but I only want the names for which this “Other” option was selected to carry forward. I can’t seem to get this to work as I either have all text entries carry forward or I have only the statement where “Other” was selected come up but that doesn’t carry forward the text (i.e. the text box is blank and respondents would have to input names again).Does anyone know whether what I am trying to do is even possible?Thank you in advance!

I don’t seem to be able to include the parent topics in the Text IQ table when I include “Relative Importance” column.As soon as I add “Relative Importance” column, the “Hide parent topics” checkbox is automatically checked and greyed out. How can I include parent topics in the table?

I have a dashboard which has 2 surveys as source.There are few fields like Sales Area and Portfolio based on which access is controlled in dashboard.I want to now add a new field LB so that when I create a role, I can select that field and provide access based on that.How can I do it ? Thanks in advance.

Hi, can you please give us the option to completely disable the suggested (multiple choice) responses feature from our accounts? I realized today, as I was once again changing your suggestions to what I wanted and recoding the values (ugh!), that your suggestions have never -- not even ONCE -- been what I wanted there. Surely I’m not the only customer who has to deal with this annoyance. Thanks for your time!

Is there a way to allow survey respondents to paste formatted text into an essay text box? It would be helpful to allow bulleted lists and bolded headings to be preserved.

We create survey templates that we copy and then edit for different clients. We need to maintain pre-formatted Results widgets when we do this. Right now, the Results widgets all reset. At the very least, it would be helpful for the survey to just remember that we de-selected certain questions (metadata, privacy questions, etc) in the Results page. Does anyone have a workaround or a suggestion to solve this problem?Thanks.

I am trying to set a Day of Week embedded data field based upon transaction date.Essentially, I want to map the day of week based upon a Time of Day embedded data field that is formatted like this: 2025-06-24 12:00:00In this example, the day of week would display as “Tuesday”.The Transaction Date embedded field is already set up and displaying properly in my CX dashboard.Thank you in advance!   

 Hi there, I have created embedded variables, all mapped correctly and I can pull from these using pipped text so I know the embedded variables are working. Embedded data in the workflowFor some reason when I am trying to import embedded data into the XM Directory workflow, only one variable (“postal 2”) is showing up and the rest are only available under “transactional data” (e.g., “emaile”; ps. I spelled email like that to differentiate it from the contact ‘email’).  Showing the only embedded data showing upShowing that embedded data is showing up as transactionalDoes anyone know why this is the case? Thanks in advance!

We have a large survey with 100k+ invites distributed per day. Every once in a while a customer will enter a response to a text entry question that has a custom font or italics that gets saved by Qualtrics in that way. While this does not break anything in Qualtrics, we export this data to go to an internal data warehouse, and this causes those systems to fail due to the unsupported characters. Has anyone overcome this problem before? I imagine this can only be done with JavaScript. See an example below. The text doesn’t even seem to show differences when looking at the HTML, but when copying and pasting it to different sites it seems to maintain the variations in font.I paid extra. I have a Qualtrics test setup that allows learners to fail and retake the test, then perform an evaluation. This works great; however, we are now using a new feature with CME Tracker for Curriculum model that separates the Eval link from the Test link. When the Eval is embedded in the Test link through Qualtrics and then is put in the Publisher Link in CME Tracker it works great. However, I cannot get it to work with the New Curriculum model that removes it from the Publisher Link. Has anyone else started using this new feature in Tracker?

I have a drilldown question with two dropdowns: State and City. Separately, I’ve uploaded a supplemental data file containing Unique ID, State, City, and other additional fields. Unique ID, State, and City have all been set as search fields.I want the respondent to select State, then City, from drilldown question, then based on the selection look up values from additional fields and then pipe text into latter questions. This seems to work with a multiple choice question as there is only one field that can be used as the lookup value but not with two dropdowns.Thanks in advance for your help.

I’m trying to use the Qualtrics API in a custom code block in a survey workflow.But it complains about the import statement when I include it and complains it doesn’t recognise the api call if I leave it out.I can’t find an answer on how to call the API here. I contacted Qualtrics technical support but they also don’t know. I have a survey for event registration linked to a Google Sheets spreadsheet. The workflow enables Qualtrics to add a new row to the sheet whenever a new registration is received. The sheet captures Date&Time in column A, Chinese Name in column B, English Name in column C, etc. For the past 3 months, this workflow has been functioning well, receiving over 2500 enrollments and allowing me to quickly analyze applicants based on real-time data. However, we recently noticed that 22 consecutive rows of Date&Time information are missing from late May to early June, while other information such as names and contact details were recorded normally. (Screenshot below) I reviewed the Run history, and all tasks executed successfully, with the Date&Time value recorded in the input code. Strangely, the Date&Time data started reappearing in new enrollment record on June 14, and the workflow is now functioning correctly again. I’’m familiar with this page https://www.qualtrics.com/support/survey-platform/survey-module/survey-tools/import-and-export-surveys/#PreparingAnAdvancedFormatTXTFileBut obviously the documentation there is very poor. Many options, such as [[ConstantSum]] are simply listed with no example of proper formatting. Trying to figure out the formatting through trial and error yields the extremely unhelpful message “Data validation error” when I test importing it. Does anyone actually use these options? Is there anywhere that fully documents the formatting? I’m assuming this isn’t a standard file type, just a qualtrics-specific thing. 

We are looking to broaden the use of Qualtrics from our small team to the rest of our organization and I am trying to putting together protocols and best practices to share with new users. Since the XM directory has limited permissions right now, I'm concerned the directory will get out of hand quickly (e.g. number of embedded data fields). Does anyone have any protocols/guidance that you have created for your organization that you'd be willing to share? Or tips and lessons learned from having multiple people utilizing the same directory for different work? We have created multiple directories already, but with the nature our work, teams will need to share directories.

Hi, I'm looking for an Excel report of all the data from a survey in a usable format. Users must login to Qualtrics to download the CSV or Excel from the Data & Analysis tab, then transform the data after deleting unnecessary columns (i.e. Response ID, IP Address, etc.). Is there a trigger that can send an Excel report to a designated person on a daily basis that contains basic information like: name, email address, survey questions, and answers? Any help would be appreciated.Brianna

Hello all!  I’m putting together a guide for new brand admins.  In the user set up page, there is a drop down with a TON of user types in it.  The Qualtrics webpage on users and user types doesn’t cover or describe them all that I see.  Has anyone ever seen or know of a full list of all user types available and what they are meant to do?  I know some are self-explanatory, but some really aren’t.  

Hello,I'm putting together a survey and there are two related features that I'd like to be able to implement. I've scoured Google and the community boards and haven't been to find the help I need, so I've decided to ask here:To prevent accidental closures, is there a way to have a pop-up message activate when a participant exits the window on an incomplete survey confirming that they would like to leave the survey?I'm also interested in collecting data about why participants might be leaving the survey incomplete, so is there a way that the pop-up message could be used to ask a single multiple choice or open-text question?If anyone has any clues for implementing either or both of these features, it would be much appreciated!

I have a Qualtrics survey that participants will complete using their cell phones.  Based on the question formatting, I would like the survey to be displayed in LANDSCAPE orientation only.  Is there a way to set up the survey so that it will automatically be locked in landscape orientation (and will not switch to portrait orientation even if users rotate their phones)?

Hi folks, I have seen folks posting the the deprecation of the XM Directory task breaks some of their Salesforce workflows. However, I have a much simpler workflow that is not supported by the new workflow.  We have surveys that folks access via an anonymous link. We used the XM directory task to distribute follow-up surveys at 30 and 90 days post response to those who provide contact information information from the survey.  The piped text from their response to the question was used as the mail to address for the distribute survey task. Is there an alternative way to make this happen? 

Hi everyone,I’m working with Qualtrics and I would like to see in my report the percentage of respondents who have completed the survey. Is there an easy way to display this as a percentage of the total invited participants within the report? Or do I need to calculate this manually somewhere? Any tips are appreciated!
