Hi,I am a student and have just signed up. I am in the process of creating a survey for a research project as part of my studies. Is it possible to create an anonymised raffle or something similar with a free account? In the instructions for this it says to “redirect a URL”, but then says this is not available on free accounts. So I’m just wondering if there is another way to randomly select a winner and notify them by email.  Thanks

hi all, hope you’re well. I’m trying to clean data from a questionnaire. My issue is that some responses are numbers (1 to 7) for an age question where the only single answer options are 18-24, 25-34 etc and there is no option to select “other” and type an age either. I thought they were the numerical values but the 1-7 values don’t correspond with the recode values either (which start from 11 onwards). When I try to identify individual responses using response ID, it seems that the answer is “3” or “4” - I’m just not sure how this is possible if respondents didn’t have the option to select it? are those responses somehow corrupted? just double checked “View response” for the responses that have numbers and in that question, the answer is just not selected at all. Also, all the number answers seem to appear from the first 280 responses - after which the responses are following the age ranges.  Thank you for any insight/help,Maria

My survey is an evaluation of mood before and after seeing a slideshow. There are 2 slideshows but each participant only sees one of them so I have 2 separate groups. How do I separate the surveys based on which slideshow each person got?

I have a segmentation typing tool that I will use to classify each survey response with a segment classification. My plan is to use the batch classification of my typing tool to identify each segment based on my survey data, then upload the new segmentation variable to my dataset in qualtrics. Am I thinking about this the right way? I have zero experience coding so that is not really a feasible solution for me. Thanks!

Hi XM Community,In my current survey I have a block with 4 questions, 2 of those questions are “forced response” questions while the other 2 are “request response” questions. Due to this, the following textbox appears. I understand if the text appears with the “continue without answering” if the respondent did not answer the “request response” questions.However, it does not make logical sense for the “continue without answering” to appear if respondents did not answer the “forced response” questions. In this case, I would only like the “answer the questions” text to appear. Is there anyway to solve this issue?  

I know there have been all sorts of related questions, but I still can't figure out the right way to accomplish the process I need in order to link between two surveys: The first survey is an open one where people register for the research (consent form).  The second survey, which is the actual research survey, should be closed, and people should automatically be redirected to it only after registering via the first survey. I want both surveys to have a shared identifier field with a random string that connects them, but other than that, there shouldn't be any other shared fields between them. Ideally, the random field should be saved as an external data reference because it seems more organized to me, but if that's not possible, it's also fine. What I have tried so far: On the first survey: I created a hidden field with JavaScript that generates a random sequence of letters and numbers. On the survey flow I created an embedded data element that take this random string and save it as "

Is there a way to do a bulk change to widgets? For example, I would like to “Show data values” for all the questions in a survey result. 

I have a survey built for an internal form, where if the CSM selects themselves as both the owner and the source of the feedback, then the error comes up.Conversely to the logic above, it should fail if CSM is selected on Q2 AND Customer Success Management is selected in Q4. This seems simple enough, but anytime that CSM is selected in the first question the validation fails. I expected the issue to be that it was set to “OR” and not “AND,” but it is correct.Am I not thinking about this logic correctly or is something broken?

Is it possible to have the survey move from one block to another without a page break?   I’d like to use the reference survey option in the blocks but don’t necessarily want to break apart the flow just do it. Thanks!

Hey there!  I just got an iPad to use at a conference, loaded my dashboard, and… it looks awful. It looks fine on desktop but some of the widgets are clearly different on a mobile device.  Does anyone have tips and tricks for how to optimize for iPad?

I am currently building a survey to use to perform a conjoint analysis and would like to include a test to show that people are actually considering between the options presented rather than just selecting them at random. Options I have seen suggested include providing a choice where one option is the obvious favourite, providing the same choice twice to see if they make the same selection, or including a timer to see how long someone spends considering the options.  Does anyone have any experience including such tests in their design? Any advice would be appreciated 

Hi all, I’m wanting to find out a way to create a new variable (via a multiple answer question) so it will tally the number of items participant’s selected. At this moment, the csv data file has their answer like “1, 3, 8, 9” instead of 4.The final option they can select is “I haven’t experienced any” which I’ve coded as 0. I’m wanting to know the number of events people select (minus the final answer), because I have further data regarding the number of events. I know I can manually count each answer, but if I’m collecting 200 participants’ data, this isn’t a very good use of my time.I’ve tried to create a new field/formula, however, it won’t allow me to select the relevant question when trying to put the selections in the formula (i.e., a+b+c, etc.).  Any ideas would be helpful! This is my furst survey so I’m totally lost and don’t even know what phrases I would use to search if someone else had already asked haha. Thanks!

Hi All, I’m facing troubles in using Record Table Widget. I would like to put all my survey questions in columns (around 20 columns) but I noticed that the table doesn’t allow to scroll horizontally and instead reduces the column width to show all the columns. I knew that this was a limit of the deprecated widget version, while for the Record Table the guide doesn’t say anything about this limitation. Any help is really appreciated!Thanks

Hey,I conducted a survey with three different versions that were randomly presented to respondents, and I'm curious if there is a way to determine the order in which they answered my survey. In Data & Analysis, I can view or download individual responses, but they appear in the order of my survey flow. Also, I haven't been able to find a way to see the time at which those answers were submitted. Is there any way to do this?

I have a total of 12 questions in a block (say, Q1-Q12) and I want to show them in a manner that Q1 appears for everyone for sure and out of rest (Q2-12) only one should appear in the ratio 8:4:1:1:1:1:4:1:1:1:1 for Q2-12. However, I am not able to find option to do uneven randomization in advanced randomization options for questions of block. Only two options (randomize all or randomize evenly) are available.Is there any way by which I can get the questions shown in desired ratio?Please help. Thanks. 

I have an experiment with several treatments and one control group. There are three scenarios in the experiment, and every scenario has several treatments. I have constructed the survey so that every scenario corresponds to one block, and the treatments are then administered as randomly assigned question (with only descriptive text) within the blocks. This works well, except for the fact that I want to make sure that individuals who are assigned to the control group only get the control in all three scenarios. My initial solution to this problem was to create a control block, in addition to the three scenario blocks where treatments are administered. However, since Qualtrics randomizes with even probabilities across blocks, this would lead to 1/4 of the participants being assigned the control scenario. Ideally, I would like to assign 1/10 of the respondents to the control group, since my most interesting comparisons for this experiment is across different treatment groups. The control

Hi, I will use Qualtrics to distribute my survey (individual link). In some circumstances, some of the respondents may not in the position to take part in the survey. Therefore, they will forward the invitation email to the appropriate person. I know the individual link can only be used once. My question is will the individual link work if it was forwarded to other person?Thanks. Regards, Houston

I have two embedded data points called Number of Sessions and Hours that I want to include in a distribution email to my contacts (w/o the survey link). Each time I do a test email, the email shows ${e://Field/Number%20of%20Sessions} and ${e://Field/Hours}, but not the actual data. 

Hi! I have a question about loop and merge, and could not find any answers on the forum. I want to randomise the loop order not only between the rows, but also the columns of my loop and merge. I am displaying my images side by side in my question block, as can be seen in the second image. For that to work, I need two fields. I want to randomise the pairing of the images for my experiment. Does anyone maybe have any suggestions for me? I would greatly appreciate it!  

Hello, I am doing a within subject experiment in qualtrics. In the first block, I am asking a matrix 7 questions, presented in random order. In another block I present respondents to a vignette and then ask again the same 7 matrix questions. I would like that in the second block, the prompts of the matrix to appear in the same order as in the baseline.  Does anyone knows how I can do this?  thanks a lot in advance fo your support 

Is it possible to change the color of the line at the top of my horizontal reference line in my evolutionary graph so that it is green for example?Is there a way to change the color of the bars also when for example my NPS is at the top of 6 or 8?

We currently have respondents upload an Excel document with a long list of contacts in it.  I’m researching if it’s possible to have them copy and paste that list directly into the survey somewhere.  The template we provide has 9 headers/columns and can contain a minimum of 16 rows, up to sometimes, but rarely, 15000 rows.Based on my research, here’s what I’ve already tried and why it doesn’t work for our use-case:Using the side by side question type: not enough rows. Embedding an editable HTML table: doesn’t allow users to copy and paste whole columns of information at a time.   Embedding an Excel document: does not save the data that’s been inputted. Are there any other options that I’m missing or is this just beyond the capability of Qualtrics?

HiIs there a way to remove the “Data & Analysis” tab/functionality from a survey? We are preparing an HR survey and do not want to see responses per employee to avoid potential identification based on their answers. Thanks
