Hello - I am beginning to program a process for double confirmation panel recruitment. The ideal flow would be Offer to join panel during web visit > if yes, provide email address > survey invite sent to email to confirm willingness to join panel > thank you email (email trigger) sent at completion of confirmation survey. I also have contact frequency rules o set to 180 days. I think my multiple emails are in conflict with contact frequency rules. Has anyone ever had to work around this, and if so, how did you do it?

I have a drown menu containing hundreds of course names. It can be cumbersome to have to scroll through ever name while completing the survey on a cell phone or through the offline app. Is there a way to offer search functionality for a drop down list? Thank you!

Hi everyone! I am making an interest survey that requires information on the couple’s children. I am looking to gather info on the child’s name, sex at birth, and birthday?.So if I have a question that says “How many children do you have in this specific age?”. Then the parent choices a number 1-5.If a parent chooses the 2, how do I get information on child 1 and child 2 to show if they select it and then for the other options? Would this be a loop & merge function? If so, I would I do that?I am not sure how to do this, any help would be appreciated and thank you in advance!!

I've played around with subject lines in the past, trying to figure out what might garner the best response rates for surveys sent to students. I'm assuming your work with other populations would apply as well. So I'd like to know if anyone has tips that they feel move the needle on response rates. During one test I used a subject line that was very polite, i.e. 'please help us... thank you...' compared to a subject line that was more of a command, i.e. 'Take this survey now...' and I was surprised. The 'polite' subject yielded far worse results than the commanding subject line. It may be that students felt like the command made the task sound somewhat like a requirement for their coursework, but I did no more testing on that project due to lack of time and a need to change directions... I'd like to do a similar test with more thorough analysis in the future, but for now, what have you found to impact response rates?

I’m interested in knowing the % of people who answered a survey compared to the total number of people who received a given survey. It’s as simple as that, however Qualtrics makes it so complicated. Also, I have several distributions per survey project. How can I measure yearly trends for my response rate? Finally, when I add the funnel statistics to a dashboard, I have the impression the calculation is made for the whole directory of the contacts. How can I filter on one specific survey? Knowing that I have embedded data in each survey that helps me differenciate between them. But in the data source of the funnel statistics this field is nowhere to be

Dear all,I would like to apply a advanced randomization for blocks that I can not seem to figure out.  I have 120 blocks including:1 picture per block (12 different pictures in total) 1 text per block (9 different texts + 1 no text in total) all possible combinations of the aboveEach participant is only going to see 12 blocks (i.e. the 12 different pictures). I want to make sure they do not see duplicates (e.g. the same picture or same text) and preferable and a random order. Does anybody have any idea how I can make this work? Any help is appreciated!Maurice 

Does anyone know if it is possible trigger a survey x seconds after a certain event is triggered? For instance, if we want to fire a survey on after someone clicks on a certain button (an event), could we then fire the survey 10 seconds after a user clicks on this button? Would this be something we could do within the Qualtrics UI? Or would this be something we would have to bake into our back-end trigger logic with our Engineering team? I know that it is possible to trigger a survey after a user has spent x amount of time on the site in general, but I'm wondering about x amount of time after a specific event is triggered.

So I am doing a three-part survey. In the first survey, the participants will be randomly assigned into one of the three condition - control, condition1, condition2 and do the task of it. In survey 2 and 3, I want the participants to receive the same condition they have received in the survey 1, instead of being randomized into one of the three conditions again. How can I do that? Plus a small question: I have trouble using the workflow now, it just won’t load and let me use it whenever I click in a workflow to edit, how should I handle this case as quick as possible?

Is there a way to send thank you or reminder emails based on randomization? I need send to specific follow-up surveys (Re-test Concept 1 or Re-Test Concept 2) to respondents based on how they were randomized (whether they received Concept 1 or Concept 2) in an initial survey. I am a relative novice at Qualtrics so I apologize if this has already been answered. 

Hi all, I’m having an issue with trying to set a custom validation for a side-by-side question. I have two columns, the first column is multiple choice, but I want to set a condition that the participant must select at least one choice. The second column then asks them the frequency of use for each selected choice in column one. Is there a way to firstly only allow people to answer column two for the choices that were selected in the corresponding column? Secondly, can I set it so they must answer the question about frequency before moving on? Just to note the first column is a Likert scale consisting of one option per row and the second frequency column is a drop-down.Thanks in advance,  Abby

Hi all, I’m struggling with some custom validation on a side by side question and hoping someone can help. I currently have a column with a yes/no question, followed by a column with a rating (see pic). I want it to require a rating if the participant has responded “yes” on that row, but not if they have responded “no”. ! I’ve managed to do it for a single row, but it doesn’t work if I start to add the same logic for more rows. I think it’s something to do with the order of operations for the “and”s and “or”s, but I can’t work it out! If I could use brackets, I’m sure it would work. For example, the following works for the first row, in that it allows the participant to move on regardless if "no" is selected, but requires a rating if "yes" is selected. ! However, the following does not work. The first row still seems to work, but the validation for the second row is only checked if the answer to the first row is "yes". Hello everyone! I have a question as it pertains to skip logic. I came across a question we asked on a previous survey (before coming to Qualtrics) that used a specific logic. I am curious how, if at all, this logic would be implemented in Qualtrics. A mock questions is below: Question 1: Do you like spending time outside?Yes, I love it. → Proceed to Q2 Yes, I enjoy it a good amount. → Proceed to Q2 No → Proceed to Q2, Then Skip to End/Q13 Decline to answer → Proceed to Q2, Then Skip to End/Q13 For options 3 and 4, how would we build this logic into a Qualtrics survey? Does Qualtrics allow for this to be done? Anything helps. Thanks! ---BH

Hello,I hope I'm not posting something that's already been answered - I've looked through previous posts to check.I have sliding scales that also give respondents the option of selecting the not-applicable box. I realize now that Qualtrics builds into the system to auto-exclude/record as blank in the data not applicable boxes. However, these are distinct to me and what i'm interested in. Is there a way to capture this data from the responses (whether someone selected NA or is truly a skip) automatically or with some of script? Or will I need to manually look at every response and sliding scale to see if they have checked the box or skipped the question?Thanks in advance!

We want to be able to view a customer's survey from a Record Grid Widget (i.e. add a Column that would include the Response ID as a link). However, the Response ID is one of the few pieces of Survey Metadata unavailable for mapping in Dashboard Data. The functionality in the Data & Analysis tab is what we're after (where we can display a column for Response ID or use Actions to View or Export to PDF), but we do not want to give our dashboard users access to that tab.In the Survey Flow I added an embedded data block with a field name ResponseID (Reserved Embedded Data fields cannot have custom values). I mapped it in Dashboard Data as a Text Set. I could then add a column to the Record Grid (Survey Metadata - ResponseID). It pulls in the ResponseID values, but does not automatically link to the survey when you click on that field (like the behavior in Data & Analysis).

I know that there is a way to recode text values with HTML so that words will be formatted differently in the records grid widget. For instance, "YES" would be green and "NO" would be red. I can't seem to get it to work though.

Hi All,I am facing an issue in importing the records in Qualtrics. I have about 3-4 lakhs Historical records from Medallia in a .csv formatted file which I am suppose to import in Qualtrics. But facing the issue as some records are not aligned. I am getting below error Error :RSP_6 - Row 7752 has 161 columns; expected 359 (CDAP_RI_000) Is there any solution so that I can import records on one go. Thanks in Advance for all the solutions !!!

Is this correct?As far as I can tell, the results of a survey can be shared with externals in the following ways:1.    Flat data2.    Dashboard (live, responsive).3.    Dashboard export (static).4.    Results page (static)5.    Report (static)6.    Report (live, static).Live: the numbers change with each new completeResponsive / static: the user can/cannot sort and so onI was especially wondering if there is also a way to share the Results page with a link to people outside one's organization.

Hi Community!I am trying to use a combined(concat) field as my ticket data but I am unable to do so.Is this anyhow possible?

We have a survey with two pages, where the first page has the questions we need everybody to answer and the second page has some extra “nice to have” questions. Instead of the “Next” button at the end of the first page (block), I would like to give respondents the option to either submit now (which would skip to the Thank You page and log the response as “Submitted”) or go to the next page and answer the other questions.Right now the only option I see is to ask a question at the bottom of the first page (“Do you have time to answer a few more questions?”) and then go to the next page or submit depending on their answer, but that would add an extra, unnecessary click to the process.Can I either add some fancy CSS and/or JS to add a second button to the block? Or can I remove/hide the button at the end of the block and take action (next page or submit) directly from the “Do you have time” question?Thanks- Marc

Hi all,I have added a scoring category to my dashboard as embedded data and the data field can be selected within widgets but no data is being populated.  The scoring categories were created after the dashboard was created.There is data present within the survey data tab so I know that there should be figures available.Can someone advise if I have missed a step after adding the scoring embedded data to dashboard data area.  The embedded data for scoring is added as numeric value. the scoring categories are not in the survey flow as embedded data but I didn't think this mattered.Many thanksChris

Hi EveryoneHope you’re well.I would like to capture NPS Group the same as I can for NPS Number with Piping via a simple workflow trigger.This will be saved into a respondents profile in XM directory. I believe this needs to be done via Survey Flow Branching…"IsPromoter","IsPassive", and "IsDetractor" to save the NPS Groups to an Embedded Data field.But I am struggling setting this up and have got into a mess a few times.If anyone could help with a screen shot that would be ace!Thanks :)
