How to randomize multiple segments equally?

Hello!  I am writing a survey where I’ll have 4 segments by device type and will create a variable to categorize them.  There will be 25 per segment.   I also need to show two different question sets to half of all respondents.  I’d like each device type segment to be equally divided (can be off one since it’s an odd number) so that I don’t end up with the entire sample being equally divided while the different device types are not.  I know how to create the variables for the device types and I know how to randomize blocks, but not sure how I can assure each segment is equally divided 50/50 between the question sets.  Appreciate any thoughts! Thanks!

Timer help

I am trying to randomize a timer one at 5 seconds and one at 30 seconds on the same block but when  I choose to randomize both timers seem to disappear can anyone help me with this?

How to set workflow to do an event after X reponses?

I am trying to set up a workflow to keep me updated on the progress of one of my surveys.  I was trying to set it up that it would send me an email after X number of responses (let’s say 5). The workflow seems to be able to send the email no problem, but I have not been able to figure out how to condition it upon the number of responses received. For example, I want to set it up so that I would receive an email notification after Response #5, Response # 10, Response #15, and so on. Does anyone have an idea if such a conditioning is possible and how to go about it?

Embedded Data field not populating as expected - Language = AR

I currently have the following Embedded Data field in my survey flow to provide a date stamp; ${date://CurrentDate/DS} . This works consistently for all languages other than Arabic.  I’m looking for suggestions on how to change this code to have Arabic be consistent with other languages.  The format in my data is populated like the following yyyy-m-d

Grouping by theme, then seeing the raw text within each group

I have a survey with a large number of open text boxes. I have tagged all the comments in TextIQ and I want to now see the tag/theme I have made and the raw comments below each theme. Is that possible? Most of the text has multiple tags so I can’t pivot in Excel because all tags are clustered into one column. I am looking for a quick solution ideally, as the survey has a lot of open text questions so I need to do it quite a few times.E.g. “trust” tag, and all the open text comments with sit under that topic. Thank you

Loop and merge based on numerical answer

I have a numerical question that asks how many peer-reviewed articles faculty have published during the year.Is it possible to generate a follow-up question that will display the number of times selected in the first question?For example, if a Faculty responded that they published 2 articles, I would like to display 2 text questions to ask for the citation for each article.Thanks

Matrix Tables; reverse coding

Hi all, I know this has been asked on prior occasions, but I am seeking further information.I can reverse score some items in my matrix table within Qualtrics, however when I look to export the data to excel, it is not reverse coded there?Is there a way to ensure the scoring applied in Qualtrics actually translates in export? Thank you!

Restricting access to contact list

Hi,Need some help please - I’m creating a contact list for distribution of my survey via personal links. This contact list also contain sensitive embedded data values. We have a number of different users of Qualtrics in our business, on the same licence and I noticed that contact lists are viewable by anybody able to access the directory, which is shared. Is there a way to password protect or otherwise restrict access to my contact list?

Vignette with different response option styles

Hi,I have some mock jury scenarios that I am using in my questionnaire, so 4 vignettes which the participants are asked to provide a sentencing response to (of which there are 15). These 15 sentencing options sit within 4 categories: No sentence, Alternative disposal (community sentence),  ≤ 2.5 years in prison, ≥ 2.5 years in prison.Instead of offering the 15 individual sentencing options in a multiple choice question, I’m wondering can this be split into the 4 category response styles, the first which would be a simple response option “No sentence”, and the remaining three as individual slider responses (so the participant could chose for example 6 months, 1, 1.5, 2 or 2.5 years in prison for the response category ≤ 2.5 years in prison ).Please ask me more questions if this doesn’t make sense, basically, I can’t seem to figure a way to offer mixed style response options in a multiple choice question.

Hi, We have have a “standalone” workflow based on the XM Directory, Qualtrics prompt suggested moving it to the Directory, which I did, and now i cannot find this workflow anywhere. Any ideas where exactly I can find it now?

Automating Survey Data Downloads

Hello Everyone,I am trying to automate the daily survey data download from Data & Analysis tab. I tried using response export automation but it showed this error when I created the automation for data downloads for today 9am.FTS_3 - Incorrect connection parameters. Please verify your username, password, port and host. error in qualtricsI want to know what’s causing this error? Is it the path that I have added or something else? Thanks,Sushant

Connect survey results to recommendations

Hi Community! In my survey we have 5 categories that are scored from a min. -3 to a max. +3. Dependent on the value of the score there are 6 clusters (worst case to best case) with recommendations. Of course, if you have way more room for improvement (e.g. score = -2,56) more recommendations will be given to you. I want to connect the surveys outcome to those recommendations. How do I achieve that? Thanks!

Voting process on survey outcomes

Hi Community, In my first survey people rank behaviours of 5 categories. The mean scores of the participants answers shows an overview of those 5 categories. In the next step I want the audience (same as participants) to vote on which of the 5 categories they want to deep dive into. Can I connect that with my first survey and if not, how can I connect the outcomes of my first survey to the second without manually putting the values in? Thanks

Importing embedded fields from Contact list

Hi,I have imported the embedded fields from contact list in my survey flow.and then I have updated the value as below in the survey builder When I send the personalized link, I am not able to see the embedded data in the survey pre-filled. However after I submit my responses, I can see the data in View Response under the embedded data section.Can someone please help me map the data in the survey, so the respondent sees the information when clicked on the link,

Workflow design of questionnaires

Thanks for anyone who reads and replies to this post in advance.Due to working needs I would like to design a workflow for my surveys, described as below:First I want the respondent of the survey to choose between two choices based on a yes/no question, each leading to their own survey questions (so there will be two sets of questions)After finishing this, the survey will be partly completed and the remaining part should be completed by their supervisor, so the partly finished survey is sent to the respondent’s own supervisor.After the survey is finished by the supervisor, the surveys are all sent to a single person who is responsible for collecting all the responses.Two parts important here: The respondent who finished the first part shouldn’t be able to re-inspect the survey after he/she sent it to his/her supervisor, and the supervisor (preferably) shouldn’t be able to edit the response of the previous respondent. I’m just wondering if Qualtrics provides such function. Wokring with Loop and Merge Data

I work for a residential life department at a college.  We use a survey for our after hours staff to record calls they receive while on duty.  We have it set up to loop and merge.  They first are asked how many calls they received on the previous shift and then it loops through the questions based on that number.  When I pull that into excel it puts all of the loops on the same row.    Currently i go through each individual row, figure our how many calls were received, and cut/paste the data into separate rows adding in the information from before the loop (the date of call, day of the week, etc.).  I am trying to figure out if there is an easier way to do this.  I think power query should be able to do this, but have not figure out how to write it.

Force text entry question only once

I have a text entry question where I want to show an error message if the character limit is less than 100. I am showing the error message using custom validation which matches Regex. However, I want to relax this validation in such a way that the message is shown only once. The next time the user hits next button, they should be able to go through.How can I do that?

Advanced Ranomization options in survey flow

Hi!I am setting up a survey where respondents are initially presented with a block containing a scenario description. They are thereafter randomized using the randomization function in survey flow between four different further randomizations that in turn randomize the order of 8 blocks containing three multiple choice questions each.I am trying to add a block of specific instructions relative to whichever out of the four different conditions respondents are initially randomized into but I am unable to add a block under a randomizer that is excluded from randomization in survey flow similar to how this can be done for the randomization of questions using advanced randomization options.In short, is there a way to exclude a block from randomization beneath a randomizer in survey flow?

Text iQ in Survey workflows in a Multilanguage project

Hi Qualtrics Team, I have a question about how to integrate TextiQ in the survey flow for a multicountry project.We have an open-ended question answered in a multiple languages.For the TexiQ module (and also used in our dashboards) we have created a new field with the open-ended question automatically translated into english by Qualtrics where we have applied the list of topics created (all rules and keywords defined for topics have been done in english) in the module for this new field translated into english.But in the survey flow it’s only possible to select the open-ended question. How can I apply the TextiQ into the survey flow for a multi-language project?I see this topic but no feedback:Thanks for your feedback!

Partial response with Finished status "True"

Is it possible for a survey to have a status of "finished" in which I have all the answers in block #1 but block #2 has been closed with a cross in the viewer?This is quite an important problem because, in 1 of 20 surveys I want to add a question that will be voluntary for the respondent. We are using the "finished" status in the dashboards and these ratings are mutually exclusive for us.
