Survey Platform

I’m hoping someone can help.I have a survey set up to act as a form. When someone completes the form, they should receive an automated follow-up email. That part generally works fine. However, I’ve noticed two issues recently: BCC emails are no longer being received. These used to work consistently but now the BCC address doesn’t seem to get anything. Testing emails are inconsistent. When I test new surveys using the same personal email repeatedly, I sometimes don’t receive the automated emails at all. If I switch to a different email address, the workflow seems to function normally. My questions are: Has something changed recently in Qualtrics that prevents sending automated emails repeatedly to the same address in a single survey/form? Is there a known limitation with BCC emails not being delivered anymore? Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone, I’m fielding a ton of matrix questions in an upcoming survey. In previous surveys, I’d been able to incorporate Javascript into Qualtrics’s new survey taking experiences to have matrix response options on the phone collapse after they were selected so respondents on phones weren’t endlessly scrolling through matrix questions. I’d had Javascript for this working for a survey I’d completed back in May 2025 but that script now no longer works. Does anyone have any guidance for how to get things working in. The code I am currently using is pasted below. If you enable “Require respondents to authenticate again if they resume their session later” will that get new xm directory data since they last accessed a survey?We update our xm directory with fields that need to populate on surveys as embedded data, however one of the surveys is completed multiple times a week.Example: If a user completes a survey Monday, but their embedded data is updated Tuesday, then if they complete the same survey again Wednesday will the new xm directory data be pulled or is it locked to the previous directory data? 

Hi All,  (sorry title should have read ‘JS code to calc number of days between two dates but sometimes blank’)I am seeing some intermittent issues in calculating the difference between two dates using some JS code in a question that is shown at the beginning of my survey. Below is a pic of some example data showing the issue:  Both the Contact_DIR_Default_Prophet_Segment_Lastmodified and TodayDate embedded fields are being populated ok but sometimes the Days_Since_Prophet_Updated field is not being calculated. I’m aware that often if JS code fails for one reason or another it can return just a blank / null value and so I’m wondering if there is a way I can capture an error code if it fails to understand why.  Is that possible? I’ve manually tested the dates that didn’t work above (console window of my chrome browser) that didn’t show a figure and they work fine. Below is my setup in order of sequence: Survey flow: TodayDate is populated and Days_Since_Prophet_Update field created   Sur

Hi community,I am trying to find a solution to the problem I have. In EX’s Employee Directory, I have a monthly import job to get the employee data from the external system:The data includes the user language the simplified example is attached. The problem is that some of the employees are also Qualtrics users, and when they change their language in Qualtrics, it’s overwritten monthly by this import. Changing it in the leading system is not wanted, as there are reasons why the languages between it and Qualtrics would differ. I tried using the existing data manipulation tasks, but with no success at all. Is there a way how I could enforce keeping the existing language in Qualtrics in case it differs to the one being imported? Or to use the current one unless it is empty/new employee?

Hi All, Which cryptographic method does Qualtrics use for password hashing and verification (e.g., scrypt, bcrypt, Argon2, SHA-512-crypt, SHA-256-crypt, or PBKDF2)? Saw an old paper of 2017 which said it is bcrypt. Is it still the same ? Thanks in advance. Regards,Neha Tank

I have a survey with 3 blocks for collecting field vehicle data:Block 1: Starting info (day, time, etc.). Block 2: Loops vehicle questions based on a question at the start of the block: “Enter vehicle or End?” If “Enter vehicle,” I used Display Logic to have vehicle data fields appear. I set these up to Loop and Merge X times every time the respondent chooses “Enter vehicle”. If “End,” I want it to show Block 3. Block 3: Ending questions, which should display after “End” is selected in Block 2. I used Branch Logic in the Survey Flow to add in this condition.Issue: When I select “End,” it just keeps looping back to “Enter vehicle or End?” again instead of moving to Block 3.What am I doing wrong? 

Hi! I Can anyone assist with the java script that is used to change the width/expand the margins in a matrix table? I have statements that are very long and I would like to have them appear more like sentences. I have already tried to adjust by moving the bar in the survey builder on that question. I am using the new survey experience. I recall being able to do this in the past, however I have misplaced the code. 

Hi,I have a side-by-side question, with in the first columns a 4-bullet-point question, and in the last column an open text field.I am using the New survey taking experience.I would like to make the open text field larger (both wider and higher). On desktop ànd on mobile.I also think to make it possible to make the text box larger, that also the wole survey width on the screen will need to be a it wider too.I have been looking to other topics on the community to css and javascript examples, but they don’t seem to be working on the side-by-side question and/or the new survey taking experience.Can anyone help me with the right code (either css or javascript) to make this possible?Thanks! 

This may seem like a pretty basic operation, but I somehow can’t figure out how to accomplish this…How do you pipe the selected answers / choices from a Matrix Table question (Matrix type: Likert; Format: Profile)? I tried different formats as listed below, but none seem to produce the result that I was expecting. If important - this is for an email workflow, but I assume that piping should work the same across the entire survey platform. Sometimes I notice in my surveys that when adding text entry fields for my multiple choice options (e.g. when asking respondents to specify what their “Other” selection means) my text field is being pre-populated with a 0 and I can’t figure out why. I know constant sum questions have 0s by default, but this is happening when I allow text entry for my multiple choice options. There are no default choices set to 0 (and why would I do that anyway?), and there is no setting changed in the validation rules to say this value must be numeric. The behaviour does not happen consistently, but has anyone else seen this and know of a way to stop it happening in the first place. As a work around I clear the values with JavaScript but sometimes that doesn’t seem to work exacrtly as needed if the text box is not present on page load and appears during user interactions.

In the first block of my survey, I ask respondents to enter an ID number (e.g., they type "10" into the text field).In the second block, I have another text field for the ID number. I want the ID entered in the first block (“10”) to automatically appear in this field so respondents don’t have to retype it, but they can edit it if needed. This seems slightly different from piped text. Is there a way to do this?Thank you in advance.

Hi there, We have a use case for where we are supposed to have about 200 dropdown answer options. The answer options will also need display logic. Is there an easy way to have a dynamic list loaded into options based on a set of logic coming from embedded data fields? Ankur.

Hi Community,I’m trying to limit the number of responses for my survey in Qualtrics — specifically, I only want to collect 200 responses.I found an old community post suggesting to use quotas. However, according to the Qualtrics support page on quotas, there’s a warning that:Warning: Quotas aren’t always foolproof. Quota information is not saved until the respondent submits their survey, giving respondents time to change their answers or deliberate over their choices. Because more than 1 person can enter the survey at a time, there is a chance that multiple people submit answers at the same time, possibly resulting in going over quota. For this reason, we caution against users relying exclusively on quota data for providing any monetary rewards or compensation to survey respondents.Because of this, even if I set a quota of 200, there’s still a chance that the total number of recorded responses will go over 200.So, ss there any other way to strictly limit the survey to accept only 200 r

Hi all, We are looking to use Qualtrics to conduct video interviews in our recruitment team. Is there any way of locking the number of re-records a person can do on a video response question? Hi Qualtrics community, I have recently started using email reminders, and I would like to measure the performance of the reminder emails.  Specifically, I would like to track the additional responses, and the CSAT given in those responses. Is there a report or filter that I can use to track these specific metrics? I cannot seem to isolate CSAT responses that have come from reminder emails.  Thanks.

I am a longtime Qualtrics user. I feel like I am in expert in most things on the platform but the ‘Results Dashboards’ are not at all intuitive. I have read the online documentation multiple times and still struggle to create results dashboards for basic surveys. It takes so many clicks to customize the widgets in needed ways and it’s very difficult to know what to do to make basic visualizations.This new-ish feature is in no way an upgrade from the previous results-reports page. I understand I can revert back to the old version but worry about it the results-reports being phased out at some point. The dashboard version is clunky, nearly impossible for someone to use efficiently, and offers less customizability than results-reports. As someone who is responsible for encouraging my colleagues to use Qualtrics over other products like Google forms, it makes it even harder when the features are so difficult to learn.It would be great if Qualtrics would either dramatically improve the user

I am trying to use IPQS to remove bots from my survey queue and am not able to get fraudScore to show as data output.I defined fraudScore in the Survey Flow: I added this javascript to a lower block:I can check the IPQS dashboard, and it is correctly receiving the IP addresses, but Qualtrics is not recording the fraudScore. Hi everyone, I’m creating a survey in which respondents will enter their email addresses, which I will use later to send follow-up emails. I want to ensure that the email addresses they enter are correct, to avoid typos. Does anyone know of a way in Qualtrics to validate or double-check the email field as participants enter it? Thanks in advance!

I have a survey where, depending on whether someone has responded to a block before and whether 365 days have passed since then, they should either skip it or see it. I’m using a directory for authentication and saving the last completion date as MM_LastSurveyDate to compare with current date. MM_LastSurveyDate = empty → in the beginning of survey flowMM_LastSurveyDate = ${date://CurrentDate/Y%2Fm%2Fd} → when they complete that survey and it is recorded in the directory. This embedded field exists after the block in question is completed so it updates in the directory. The set up for the update is already done and working. I’m struggling to set up the 365-day condition, because I don’t know how to calculate the difference between two dates and how to add it into the survey flow. For more context, I haven’t used JavaScript before, so I have no idea what I’m doing. I tried to set this up in the survey flow with embedded fields, but had absolutely no luck. Heeelp pleaseee 

I know we can export individual responses as a PDF. I’m wondering if anyone has found a way to automate the responses for each one that comes in and have it uploaded to some server?

Hi All,I looked for an answer to this, but nothing was satisfactorily supplied, just more pointing to generic API functionality for file downloading, etc - i.e. people misreading the question....Could Qualtrics look at supplying what really should be a simple API request to download a particular response as PDF, as the survey manager can do from the UI?Thanks for any in-Qualtrics solutions rather than ‘dump the response and build a PDF yourself’ - I think the PDF summary as downloaded via UI is ideal for what we want, so streaming it to PDF via the API would be excellentThanks JB  

Howdy, I am trying to make sure a participant watches a video embedded in my survey. I have set it up so that the advance button only appears after X+3 seconds where X is the duration of the video, but I realized that there is nothing preventing a user from visiting another tab, or if on mobile, opening another app and entirely disregarding the video--i.e. if they arrive at the question with the video, open up instagram for at least X+3 seconds, and then return to the survey, they can advance… is there any way to make sure the qualtrics timers only “advance” if the tab or survey window is active?Many thanks in advance!
