How to Pipe in the highest value among 4 rating scales in a side-by-side question into an embedded field. Example:Q#1 Rating for ques 1 = 5Q# 2 Rating for ques 2 = 4Q# 3 Rating for ques 2 = 5Q# 5 Rating for ques 2 = 9Output: I want to pull the value 9 as an embedded field.I want to create an embedded field that pulls the highest value among these 4 columns.

Hello all, hope you’re doing great.I’ve been trying to connect Android Studio with Qualtrics according to Qualtrics API documentation (https://api.qualtrics.com/2330b91086280-getting-started-with-mobile-app-sdk-on-android), but it keeps showing up several errors once I try to construct the code. If I use the Android Studio version (4.1.3) that is used in the documentation it shows the following error “Could not determine the dependencies of task ':app:compileDebugJavaWithJavac'. > Failed to find Build Tools revision 33.0.3”. But when I try with Android Studio Flamingo (the latest version) it shows the following error: “Could not find com.qualtrics:digital:2.9.4. Required by: project :app”. Do you have any advice or troubleshooting guide for this situation?Thanks!

Hi all, I’m trying to analyse the data from my experimental survey (with a control and an experimental group), in which both groups got to see a short video. I forgot to put a check question in there, so now I can’t determine in what group people belong and what video they saw, making my data practically useless. Is there anything I can do after the fact, or do I have to start data collection all over again? 

Hello,I recently published a survey and have started to get responses, however as I intend to share it on platforms such as SurveySwap and Surveycircle, it is asking me to include a code at the end of the survey.Thus, I wanted to ask you if I change the ending message to add these codes, will my recorded responses be affected in any way?Thank you 

Please help! I am setting up a quiz in Qualtrics which needs to have music that plays automatically while an excerpt of text is being read for my PhD project. I have managed to get the music to play automatically however it always plays two tracks at the same time. Hello, A project owner reported to me that a couple of participants have been unable to complete a written survey. Every time they reach a text box essay question, the written comments disappear with the error getting a message about being "outdated." This survey was mailed to several people using the Distribution command. Any ideas why this would occur? We have reached out to Qualtrics support, but wondered if anyone else has experienced this issue.

I am fairly new to Qualtrics and dont know any Java yet, hence I would appreciate any help I can get regarding this problem. I have asked Quatrics to generate random ID's for each participant in my survey. In addition, at the end of the survey, I want each participant to be able to download a file that shows the unique ID assigned to him earlier.   Any ideas how I  may do this, or  alternate ways to achieve this objective? All suggestions are welcome. 

Is there a way to add a requirement to make a Constant sum question mandatory answering irrespective of the Total sum? Unlike other questions, there seems to be no setting to do this in a constant sum question. Right now if the Total sum is not set, a respondent can move to the next question without answering it. The custom validation also doesn’t seem to provide the right options to apply this setting. Any suggestions?

Hi All, I need small favor here. I’m extracting the B2B data from SFTP server and loaded it in XM directory using B2B loader. Now I have to send email to specific group e.g. if product=ABC and location=XYZ then send survey automatically to that respondent. I’m able to create the distribution to send the survey. But I’m not getting how to apply logic in workflow XM directory to send the survey to specific group based on those conditions. Please let me know if I’m missing something.

I’ve trying to create a Digital Maturity Assessment and the one that is preferred is rather complex unfortunately.Users should read through each set of statements and select the ones that are true across all columns.I’ve never used Qualtrics before nor am I familiar with any programming languages. I’ve tried playing around the builder and formatting but I cannot get the formatting exactly like the screenshot below. Levels the output/outcome would be that the column with the most ticks results is a score i.e. if most ticks are in column 2 “Level 2 - Informal and Reactive”, then the organisational score for this dimension is 2. If some are in level 2 and most in level 1, then ideally it should be 1.5. The survey has 5 dimensions so the screenshot below is just 1 of 5 “tables” that I’d need to create.I’d really appreciate some help on this!! 

I would like to ask a common sum question where the total equals the number from a previous question, but one of the options is 7 or more. So we ask them how many people are there - then have responses 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 or more. Then the next question we ask them to break down the total number of people into age groups. I would like the total to equal the number, but if it's 7 or more, then I would like it to be at least 7, but not limited to 7. Any suggestions?

Hi, I have seven sets of choices in a question, want to show only two choices one from a set and the other one from another set, and the user will select one out of the two then user will be shown next two choices. My question looks like thisWhich one of these choices is more important to you? Minimising Exposure to things that might make me ill appears as a choice      OR      Accumulating wealth ( and they would be shown only TWO choices and they select one or the other) And then, they would be asked again in exactly the same format, presented with two more choices, one from each category. So the categories with 6 choices in each category (divided by the space in between ) in full are: 1.     Staying safe2.     Protecting myself from injury 3.     Ensuring my personal safety4.     Avoiding dangerous places5.     Staying out of harm’s way6.     Keeping myself free from danger 7.     Minimising exposure to things that might make me ill8.     Making sure I don’t get sick9.     Protectin

Hello, I have a large block that is set up to loop and merge based on the different programs that a user selects. The user is asked to select all of the different professional health programs that they teach within (e.g., medical school, dental school, nursing school, etc.) and the rest of the survey will loop to ask them the same questions in the context of each program. I have tested it and the looping works for the first time through. For example, let’s say I select three different health programs. I answer all the questions for the first program, then I am answering all of the questions for the second program, but when I get to the very final question of the second loop I receive a very odd error message (screenshot attached). I cannot move forward to do the loop for the third health program (it doesn’t matter if I select 3 health programs or more than 3, it always gets stuck at the end of the second loop). Does anyone know what this error means? 

We’ve set up a survey that our coaches complete after completing an observation on site.  They’re given a list of behaviours and for each one (each question) they’re asked to select either ‘OBSERVED’ (coded 1) or ‘NOT OBSERVED’ (coded 2) for each one.  The behaviours can all be grouped into Elements that we want to analyse the data by.  Each element is made up of 4 or 5 of the behaviours.  I’m now trying to work out how to create a field for each element that shows a ‘1’ if they observed at least one of the 4 or 5 behaviours so I can show a count per element in my dashboard, and also calculate percentages out of all observations for each element.  I’ve tried creating custom metrics in the dashboard but nothing allows me to put in the equivalent of the equation such as if(sum of statements is 8 THEN 0 OTHERWISE 1). Anyone have an idea how I might be able to set this up?

Good morning,I have a problem. In directory, I have set frequency rules so that it is not possible to send emails to the same contact less than 30 days after the previous one.Each week new lists are loaded into directory to send surveys to which may contain duplicate contacts.Each list has different embedded data, but I can't merge because otherwise the new embedded data from the same contact would be overwritten instead of added (It seems that the platform only allows overwriting).At the same time, without merging, the contact frequency rules no longer work because the duplicate contacts are contacts on different rows and therefore different.How can I send surveys with different embedded date to the same person while maintaining the frequency rules?

 Is there any method to let responder to upload multiple files in one block ?

Can a self generating ID code be incorporated in a pre and post- post survey?I am researching an online health intervention for my dissertation and I need to keep track of the same survey respondents on Day 1, Day 7, and Day 21.The intervention is continuous over a 21 day period.( My participants are being asked to participate from an email distribution list.)Can Qualtrics assign and keep an ID for three surveys from the same email. I do NOT wish to use the email as the identifier.?Please advise and thank you in advance.

I have a list of regions that are attached to specific postal codes that need to be attached to each survey response. Since Supplemental data is still in process of being launched, I am using the authenticator to achieve this. An issue using the authenticator is that the contact record will be updated with the ED fields captured from the survey response.  Is there a way to use the authenticator without updating the contact record? In this case, each postal code contact record is a place holder for anyone who takes the survey as this is an anonymous survey. The postal code contact records can not be updated as it will interfere with the response in general. 

Hi community! How do you direct non-responses to other questions? Here is the scenario: Q1 Have you had surgery to your breasts related to cancer? 00: No 01: Yes, a reduction 02: Yes, a single breast removed 03: Yes, both removed If EMPTY, go to Q15 If 00, go to End of Block If 01, go to Q2 If 02 or 03, go to Q3. If there a way to directly say "If this question is left empty, go to xxx" ? EDIT: I failed to mention I cannot use Survey Flow branching logic because respondents need to be able to back up and change their answers (project requirement form client!)
