Hello all,I’m trying to add a constant sum type column into a side-by-side question. I’ve tried using code from various posts on this forum and amending it to my needs, but I’m yet to be successful. Would really appreciate some help! I have a four column side-by-side question. I would like the very bottom row to show the total sum of the far right column. I created a survey which I have been collecting responses for, but in the Results and Data & Analysis sections, only data for a few of the survey questions is shown, out of order, and some of them have “unexpected error occurred”. I think maybe this might be happening because I published the survey, had someone fill out a response to test it out, deleted that response, then made some changes before republishing and sending out link for my current respondents. But I’m not sure how to fix this problem and be able to see the data for all of my survey questions.

Hi Community!I write a Javascript to present a web page of a simulated social media, and capture participants engagement of that web page(comment, share, like….). Everything works well (we ran a successful version in prolific before), but after some twist in the style of the survey, there is an error pop up when click the next page. Hi there, My respondents have been complaining about the hassle of navigating three separate dropdown boxes to select times in a survey that asks a lot about their activities throughout different times of the day. I am therefore looking to add the Time Picker available here as a survey question. I know *nothing* about Javascript and so I was hoping someone could tell me how to go about doing this. I am importing a data set via Response Import Automation which includes a field Initials. I have a CX dashboard widget that displays the count of responses entered by “Initials”. In my EX directory I have metadata for those employees which includes their initials. I would like the dashboard to display the Name of the employee where the two initials match.   Example: My initials are SH. I log 34 interactions with my initials. The data set is imported. If you look at my contact in the EX directory I have a metadata value SH. Since the two initials match I would like the widget to display Sandra Hasty 34. Currently it is displaying SH from the data set. The survey is a CX project based on operational data.

How can I auto code a single/multi question from the response selected in previous question? For example, out of 5 options in a multi question only 1 of them is selected at question Q1. I have to autocode this code in question Q2 which is also a multi question and skipped from been asked to the respondent. What is the best approach to implement it?

Hi all.I am building a survey and want to test a specific question in different locations to see if the question position in the survey influences the results.So I want 50% of respondents to see the question at the start of the survey and the other 50% to see the question at the end of the survey.Is this possible? Has anyone done something like this?I can just send the survey out to 50% of the sample with the question at the top. Reposition the question at the bottom and then send it out to the other 50% of the sample. But this won’t guarantee an even number of responses for both conditions and I was hoping for something more automated.Thanks.

How do you add meta data to a participant, so that it can be used as a multi value selection in a filter in a dashboard?Example: I have some users that I want to mark as being part of an assessment in 2020, 2023 or 2024.  Each user can be in zero, one or multiple assessments.I have tried to add the data as “2022, 2023” or even split it with semicolons, but even I then mark it in the dashboard setup as a Multi-Answer Text Set, then “2022, 2023” is still seen as ““2022, 2023” in the filter, instead of separate as “2022” & “2023”

Hello,I'm hoping someone can help me diagnose a problem with custom JS. Following these steps (https://www.w3schools.com/howto/howto_js_slideshow_gallery.asp), I can create an image gallery but the next/previous buttons are not functional. A similar dead thread from 2018 (https://community.qualtrics.com/XMcommunity/discussion/2514/is-there-a-way-to-include-an-image-slideshow-in-my-survey) ran into this issue, but no solution was offered (the 2020 suggestion to use an Imgur album will not work, unless there is a way to prevent the imgur image from linking out of the survey and over to imgur.com).Thank you!

Hi everyone, I hope you’re doing well. I was working on survey and got the problem that because Max and Min value in a slider is number I can’t change it with embedded data. I tryed to do it with a code, but still no luck. My survey is otherwise working perfectly, but this one issue is holding me back. Does anyone know if there’s a way to dynamically change slider Min/Max values, without resorting to building fully custom sliders? Any guidance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I left the question numbers blank, hoping to have no question numbers in the survey. ! In preview, however, I don't get blanks. There are periods in place of the blanks. How can I get rid of them? !

Hi, I have a B2B CX dashboard to build. I have a hierarchy as below:Level 1 - CompanyLevel 2 - VerticalLevel 3 - CustomerLevel 4 - Offering I need to enable such a hierarchy filter in my CX dashboard. I got hierarchy enabled in my license. But when i go into dashboard setting and click on Add Org Hier, it says contact customer support. Kindly help with steps how to enable this hierachy for reporting. Regards,Neha Tank

I need to take multiple text entries from one survey and be able to present them in another survey later. I had previously done this using a trigger that added the data to a contact list, but Qualtrics has changed the way this works and I’ve failed repeatedly to make it work. Here’s the gist:Survey A has text entry questions AP and ANSurvey B needs to be able to present AP(response) and AN(response) as piped text (e.g., “Here is what you wrote previously: [blahblahblah]“)Participants will be entering the Survey A and Survey B from an external app that provides an ID as an embedded field (“ID”) - and this is how Survey B will use the correct data from Survey A.  I’m reasonably sure that this is an XM Directory question, but have been entirely unable to get anywhere. 

Hello - I like to include an estimated completion time in our survey emails, but noticed that Qualtrics no longer auto-calculates this time in the home menu. It used to be right here: ! I know that I can manually calculate the predicted duration using this logic: https://www.qualtrics.com/support/survey-platform/survey-module/survey-checker/survey-methodology-compliance-best-practices/#PredictedDuration But, am I missing a place where Qualtrics will calculate this for me?

I am trying to import response that were done by a 3rd party into Qualtrics. I built the survey and have the responses in a csv file. I mapped all the responses and yet every time the same fields are failing QID2, QID3, QID4, QID5, and endDate. Questions 2-5 are all Yes, No, or N/A. I’ve made sure they are formatted on the survey the same as the csv file. I’ve tried mapping them 1->Yes, 2 → No, etc… as auto suggested when I click into mapping values, I also tried Yes → Yes, No → No, etc… still got the “Responses could not be imported,” and I even tried it by not selecting mapping values, still got the same error response. The endDate field is also failing but I noticed it needs to be yyyyMMdd hh:mm:ss, so I will adjust that when I attempt my next import. 

Hi everyoneI’m new to Qualtrics and would appreciate assistance with this survey logic programming issue:I have a two-order drill down eligibility question at the start of the survey (State/hospital).“My workplace is not listed” is an option in each of the second order drill down lists by state. I want to trigger an ineligibility statement if this option is selected, followed by the end of the survey.There are over 1300 workplaces in the 2nd order drill down list.I’ve tried using embedded data with branch logic as follows (see attached image of survey flow):Embedded data:  SelectedWorkplace=${q://QID158/ChoiceGroup/2/SelectedChoices}Branch logic:  SelectedWorkplace is equal to My workplace is not listedThen branch to a block containing the ineligibility question and then end of surveyHowever, the survey marches on regardless! Any help would be much appreciated.

I am trying to add percentage symbols for the values given on the increments for the slider question- is there a java code or some capabilities through qualtrics to allow me to do this? 

I have an intranet renaming contest where the first round of votes is narrowing down to the top 10 from 48 submissions.I’m trying to figure out a way to best display this within a dashboard. I have the two widgets below but since I’m using a measure group, the values and not the labels are coming in. Both of these graphs don’t really help the decision makers easily figure out which are the top 10 amongst all the individuals who voted. I chose to use 10 different multiple choice questions instead of the rank order question because they only have to rank 10 out of 48 and the rank question didn’t seem to be the best user experience for that. I also have it so that each question only carries forward the Unselected options so previously selected choices are removed from the remaining choices.I thought maybe I could attach a score to each question (First to Tenth choices = 1-10 points respectively). Lowest score would rank the highest. However, I’m not able to figure out how to tie that in t

We have created shortened anonymous survey links using sites like Bit.ly, but is there an easy way to create shortened personalized links within Qualtrics, rather than a 3rd party site? We’re hoping to place shortened personalized links in text messages, rather than a very long survey link due to character limitations with SMS.

I have a file upload question in my survey. I noticed that there is no option to delete/remove a file once its uploaded. The respondent can replace the file upload but cannot remove it. What will be the solution to this?

I tried to leverage ChatGBT with limited success since I’m not super technical. So while I’m reverting back to the Rank question for now because it technically accomplishes my task, it didn’t provide the best UX for the amount of options the users need to rank.TASK: I have 48 name options to rank into a top 10 list. So I wanted to have 10 multiple choice questions in dropdown format where after each question, the answers selected in previous questions are removed from the list.  I’m open to scrapping the code from the AI if there’s a more efficient way to do it. I have created multiple surveys using retake links but I am running into an issue I haven’t experienced before. This survey is being used for two different references to submit letters of recommendation for the same candidate. The first reference answers a multiple choice question and uploads a file. When their submission is received, an email is sent to the second writer do the same thing in duplicate questions. After both have been received, an email is sent to the review board with links to the files. When I use display logic to hide the first respondent’s questions/answers, the answers are erased upon submission of the retake link. However, if I leave them so they’re visible to the second respondent, their answers are intact. In my past experiences (with more complex surveys), I have not experienced this problem. Hi there!I’m trying to add in a dropdown into a multiple choice response but not quite sure how to go about it. Below is the question and responses:Q: “how many of each vehicle do you currently own?”Multiple choice responses:Petrol or diesel car (drop down options:1-5) Hybrid car (drop down options:1-5) Electric car (drop down options:1-5) Motorbike (drop down options:1-5) etc...When I try to chance the format to ‘dropdown’ it just puts petrol car, hybrid car, electric car etc… into the drop down, rather than allowing me to do a drop down for just the number of those vehicles.The only other thing I can think of is doing a text entry for each option so respondents can type in the number of those vehicles that they have? Does anyone know how to do a drop down within a multiple choice question?Thanks in advance,Sara 

How do you put in the survey introduction and instructions? I had created a bock for it and used "Descriptive" to create the intro and instructions - but this text got numbered automatically as a question (so it became Q1). So I took out the question number -- but then the first survey question remained numbered as Q2 (and not Q1).
