HiCan we send text to text iq and retrieve the output via an API? I had a hunt in the documentation and couldn't find anything that looked relevant.

Hi! I appreciate any help on this.For a study I'm looking to create a slider that displays a trade-off between two options. Participants have to decide how much of a resource to spend towards Option A, which automatically affects how much of that resource is left to spend on Option B. For example, when participants choose to spend 60% of their resources on Option A, the slider should automatically show that 40% goes toward Option B. I can achieve this to some extent with the 'Constant Sum' question type, but a) this is not a dynamic item and b) I would prefer to have my item as a single-item. This is what it should ideally look like:

Our frontline team followup on feedback received from customers.In our dashboards they can see text responses in response tickers.Sometimes there is a need to follow up on feedback from the dashboard.Is there a way to open a respondents full response from the response ticker? or another widget? Currently we have to search in the data and analytics tab for the response which is a bit of double handling. Thanks!

Hello!Question 1:Is there anyway to track what sequence a participant encountered three randomized blocks?So for example in my survey flow, I have:Randomizer Block 1 Block 2 Block 3 And I’d like to record an embeddedData that just says:Sequence = 1, 2, 3. or 3,1,2 or 2,31 etc. Is this possible? Question 2:Also about a quarter of the way through my study, I’d like to introduce a ‘Back’ button that allows people to reattempt questions they’ve already completed, but not the questions of the first quarter.Is this possible? Thanks for your help!

Hi,I had a segment defined with 30 contacts for which a distribution was created.I need to send a reminder in 2 days time but there is a request to delete one contact A to whom the invite was sent. I deleted the contact A from the contact list.Will the reminder still be sent to the contact A when I send a reminder to the distribution ? Regards,Neha Tank

When editing a multiple choice question, the "edit multiple" is much faster to use than editing each option individually. In addition to being faster, the "edit multiple" allows me to edit things in a text editor, and it allows me to copy and paste easily from other sources. "Edit multiple" is pro-level. Unfortunately, Qualtrics takes "edit multiple" away if you've collected any responses for the questionnaire. Inexplicably, Qualtrics doesn't turn it back on even if you *copy* that survey into a new survey with 0 responses. They know about this behavior ("Attention: The Edit Multiple feature is disabled as soon as you collect data on your survey. This is to prevent invalidation of your data. If you copy a survey where this feature has been disabled, the copy will also not contain the Edit Multiple feature." Good Morning! I'm working on application forms for our university and one of the fields is a drop down box that list 5 years (2001, 2002, ...., 2005) that would start from the current year. I would like to avoid having to manually update the drop down each year. I found the JavaScript code but I am not sure how to use it to replace my current "year" option Qualtrics question. I have some CSS code in place to hide the default “next page” text of the next button, because I only want to display the clean “<” and “>” arrows. I have a multiple choice question that allows multiple answers and has text entry that forces responses on some of the selections. Currently, if a respondent enters anything into the text entry box of an answer choice, that answer choice gets automatically checked. I do NOT want the answer choice to be auto-checked (i.e. if the respondent enters text into a text entry box, the selection remains unchecked unless the respondent checks it).Is there a way to turn the auto-checking off? 

Is there a way for me to carry forward the matrix question statements that selected scale 1-3, to the next single choice question ? 

If I have a multiple choice question, with priority tie to each of the choice. How can I select the choice with highest priority from the respondent’s selected choices, and carry forward it to next question. 

As anyone ever come across an issue where embedded data in URLs is not being collected properly?  I have created personal links, but they are being sent to a panel provider so we don’t know who the recipients will be at the point of creation so we add country, language, and id parameters to the URL rather than including this data at link creation. But they don’t seem to be working? Here I have specified: Q_Language=DE But the survey still shows in English. And though  I can’t show it here with screenshots, the user_id is needed for redirects upon completion but when I arrive at the redirect URL user_id is blank so it has not been collected. All of my embedded data fields are at the very top of mysurvey flow and match exactly (i.e. case and spelling). I notice that if I remove Q_DL=… from the URL then the error mesage does show in the language specified so is it possible that this value has been corrupted somehow? And if it is something to do with Q_DL then can I be sure the issue is re

Hi - we just opened a 2nd individual brand for my company. I’ve exported and imported the surveys, but I’m not seeing a way to do the same for a dashboard - I know I would have to remap everything, but it would be nice to at least have the basic widgets and pages already set up so that I wasn’t having to build 100% from scratch. 

We are running a pricing study, and using the Van Westendorp pre-built Qualtrics survey for the first time. While we know conceptually about how to graph and use the 4 variables (we won’t be using Qualtrics’ internal graphing, due to data cleaning being done outside of the platform), but when we checked out data, we see that Qualtrics has created 4 additional variables that differ from the direct responses the participants entered.  They’re called “Pricing Data - Too Inexpensive/Inexpensive/Expensive/Too Expensive”. We can’t figure out, nor find any documentation on, how Qualtrics is calculating these new variables and what they mean. As you can see, most all of the values are getting discounted from the original submitted values, and the vast majority are blank?? If it matters, we did set an upper and lower price limit of $1-$50 (the item is a premium version of a CPG usually in the $5-15 range). Does anyone have insight into what these variables are, how they’re being calculated, why

I am piping the resulting text (with respondents’ edits) to the end of my survey. Hello!I have a side-by-side question where each statement has a text entry box where respondents will input a name. I then have several columns with dropdown questions. One of the options from one of these dropdown questions is “Other”, which I have a follow up question for that asks for clarification.I am trying to have the text entry for the names carry forward into the follow up side-by-side question but I only want the names for which this “Other” option was selected to carry forward. I can’t seem to get this to work as I either have all text entries carry forward or I have only the statement where “Other” was selected come up but that doesn’t carry forward the text (i.e. the text box is blank and respondents would have to input names again).Does anyone know whether what I am trying to do is even possible?Thank you in advance!

I have a dashboard which has 2 surveys as source.There are few fields like Sales Area and Portfolio based on which access is controlled in dashboard.I want to now add a new field LB so that when I create a role, I can select that field and provide access based on that.How can I do it ? Thanks in advance.

Is there a way to allow survey respondents to paste formatted text into an essay text box? It would be helpful to allow bulleted lists and bolded headings to be preserved.

We create survey templates that we copy and then edit for different clients. We need to maintain pre-formatted Results widgets when we do this. Right now, the Results widgets all reset. At the very least, it would be helpful for the survey to just remember that we de-selected certain questions (metadata, privacy questions, etc) in the Results page. Does anyone have a workaround or a suggestion to solve this problem?Thanks.

I am trying to set a Day of Week embedded data field based upon transaction date.Essentially, I want to map the day of week based upon a Time of Day embedded data field that is formatted like this: 2025-06-24 12:00:00In this example, the day of week would display as “Tuesday”.The Transaction Date embedded field is already set up and displaying properly in my CX dashboard.Thank you in advance!

I have a drilldown question with two dropdowns: State and City. Separately, I’ve uploaded a supplemental data file containing Unique ID, State, City, and other additional fields. Unique ID, State, and City have all been set as search fields.I want the respondent to select State, then City, from drilldown question, then based on the selection look up values from additional fields and then pipe text into latter questions. This seems to work with a multiple choice question as there is only one field that can be used as the lookup value but not with two dropdowns.Thanks in advance for your help.

I have a survey for event registration linked to a Google Sheets spreadsheet. The workflow enables Qualtrics to add a new row to the sheet whenever a new registration is received. The sheet captures Date&Time in column A, Chinese Name in column B, English Name in column C, etc. For the past 3 months, this workflow has been functioning well, receiving over 2500 enrollments and allowing me to quickly analyze applicants based on real-time data. However, we recently noticed that 22 consecutive rows of Date&Time information are missing from late May to early June, while other information such as names and contact details were recorded normally. (Screenshot below) I reviewed the Run history, and all tasks executed successfully, with the Date&Time value recorded in the input code. Strangely, the Date&Time data started reappearing in new enrollment record on June 14, and the workflow is now functioning correctly again.
