Hello, I have a JSON event configured and can use the captured data in a custom e-mail containing a survey link. I'd like to be able to modify the survey using the JSON data before distributing the link. A simple example would be adding a static message containing the customer's name or project name at the beginning of the survey. Is there a way to do this?Thanks for the help!

Hello! I am trying to determine the custom code/javascript to display columns based on a previous "multiple-answer" response. Basically to "grey-out" responses to make it impossible to answer (if a previous box is checked). I have a set of constant sum sliders that looks like follows: ! My issue is that forced response is not working. Previously, I had "custom validation" set as "is not empty," and it was working. But if I do that now, the validation fails no matter if the responses are empty or not. Does anyone possibly have any idea what I can do?

I want to create a question in which 12 graphics are to be ranked from 1-12. However, with ranking order, the graphics are displayed one below the other, requiring participants to scroll too far to see all the graphics.I am looking for a way to display and rank the graphics so that as many as possible can be seen on the screen without scrolling (4x3). Does anyone have an idea how I can customize this?I also tried Question Type Pick, group and rank. With this question type, the graphs could be displayed over groups side by side (via add columns). However, graphs cannot be inserted as groups. Maybe there is a way to do this via CSS / JavaScript?I am grateful for any ideas to solve my problem!

I have been trying to work this out for a while and have gotten stumped. It may be possible using embedded supplemental data, but I want to make sure of that before requesting the upgrade to use that.I am creating employee assessment forms where a supervisor selects the supervisee from a drill down list. We use unique ID's already and I would like to attach the ID to the names of the supervisees so when I export the data I can run reports of all responses for that unique ID.I have already managed to capture the respondents ID (supervisor) using an authentication branch. Any ideas on how to move forward with this? Thank you in advance for your help.

I have a block of 12 questions. The order of the questions is randomised. For each question, participants are forced to select either upvote, downvote, or pass.How can I force participants to select each of the possible options exactly 4 times across the 12 questions?In other words, each participant must choose 4 questions to upvote and choose 4 other questions to downvote.My thinking is to have embedded data fields (e.g., upvoteCount and downvoteCount), increment these data fields +1 each time the corresponding answer option is clicked, and to disable the next button for the block until these embedded data fields both equal 4. However I'm struggling to implement this.

I had a long survey that includes many required text entry questions. I set some questions as the force to response just to guarantee the respondents will answer all questions. But some respondents can't answer the questions in order. They may answer the latter questions then previous ones after they gather enough information. I am wondering whether a submit button is added at the end of the survey. People can't submit their survey before they finish all the required questions. But they can go back and forward even though they leave some required questions unanswered. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Hi all, I am making a survey where I ask people to indicate what language the relatives of a child (father/mother/caretaker/grandparents/teachers/brothers and sisters) speak to the child and from what age (in years and months) they speak that language to the child. I found out I can handle this question in two ways, but for both ways I cannot seem to make it work the way I want it to. The first option is a form field question where I make a separate question for every relative. Each question should have two field: the first for the language and the second for the age. The age in years and months should be in a drop down list and should be accompanied by a text saying '... years and ... months'. So the question should look something like this:What language does your child's teacher speak to your child? From what age does he/she speak this language to your child?Language *text box*From age *drop down with years* years

The videos work well on desktop (no full screen), but on mobile they automatically open up in full screen, forcing participants to minimize the video. I'd prefer this not to happen but haven't found a way around it. I do have my videos autoplaying, so that might be involved. These are videos I've uploaded from my computer and not from youtube. I am trying to have a video that auto-plays within the browser (so the person taking the survey doesn't have to minimize any screens) and does not allow the survey taker any control over the video. I'm able to get it working in my desktop browser, but not in a mobile browser. Dear all, For a coming project my team and I want to incorporate experimental cognitive functioning tasks (for example digit span, memory, etc) in our questionnaire, to get a measure of objective cognitive functioning rather than asking people about their cognitive functioning through a questionnaire. Hi, I am a few attention-check questions in my questionnaire, and the rule is that respondents can only fail one of them; the second failure will end the survey. Using Javascript, a warning will be generated that the respondents failed an attention check question, and if they fail again, the survey will end. However, for this to work properly, I need a global counter variable, so I can keep track of the respondent's previous failure through the survey and have the platform act accordingly upon the second failure. I can not find a way to set up a global counter variable independent of each question code. I would appreciate any hint, help, or guidance on how to solve this issue.

I have a multiple choice question, and within the answer choices I've created tooltip 'buttons' to where you click them it will display the text (see attached image), with subsequent bulleted list, with this code: But as soon as you add the code to the other answer choices, only the last choice is displayed for ALL answer tooltip buttons. I add the code directly to the answer choice -- do I need to add something to the main question javascript section? Just weird that only the last tooltip text is displayed for all 8 of the tool tips. Hi! I am an undergraduate student, and I am working on a survey for my research project. I am wondering whether anyone can help with some custom Java scripts that may help solve the problem. Really appreciate all your time and help!By default, the hot spot question allows for multiple selections of the regions. I am wondering whether it is possible to only allow for one highlighted area at a time. If I choose one and click on a second one, both will be highlighted. Hello,I am working on a project for one of my classes and our experiment is testing the effects of background music on memory recall. I have been struggling with embedding the music into the survey, specifically into only some of the groups as we have 3 levels of the IV (instrumental, lyrical and silence/control). The goal would be to embed the music so that it only plays during a group of blocks of questions, and be able to use the embedded functionality to mark what condition that participant had for that group so that we can have grouped data for each level of the IV.Currently I am using the scoring function for text entry questions as the task is paired-associate recall; however, I have not been able to fully incorporate the scoring into a readable format (where correct = 1 and incorrect = 0). Any help would be much appreciated I am hitting a wall on this one.Thank you!

Hello All, I have reduced the length of my questions by adding help text into a 'More Info' button that you can click on and it will bring up the help text for a choice in a matrix style question. However, I can not figure out how to make format the text within the button to create a bulleted list (preferred) or line breaks to split up my text. Question Text goes here More Info function myFunction() {alert("Help Text 1 Help Text 2");} With this code, the button works. the text 'help text 1 help text 2' appears but I would like the help text to be on separate lines, preferably with bullets. Any advice? I used /n sorta things but they never worked so just hoping for some help.

Hi, I am trying to present a survey that has many pictures, but I want them to show up the same way regardless of the participant's screen size. Is there a way to make the photos change dynamically depending on the screen size? For example, If the screen in small the image goes smaller and if the screen is big the images go bigger?Overall, I just want the pictures to take up the same amount of screen space on each computer, proportionately. I hope this makes sense! I'm open to all suggestions!

HI All,After fixing a workflow (webservice issue) I now have hundreds of responses that would normally be processed at the time of the survey response being completed. Please could someone provide some guidance as to how I can invoke this survey workflow but without changing the recorded time as we use this to chart.I have ticked the 'responses updated via the Qualtrics API' which seems to work when I manually retake the respondents survey (but of course that route updates the recorded time).this is my workflow with the survey response setting showing I have a method to do API calls through an excel VBA script I've written but that was for Tickets so I can adapt it but I could do with some guidance on how best to invoke a change that the above task will then pickup and regard as an update.ThanksRod Pestell

Hi everyone! I'd like to integrate a Slider into my survey from a jQuery library (this one - https://xdsoft.net/jqplugins/range2dslider), but it doesn't seem to work. As I understand jQuery is included in Qualtrics, so there's no need to call it in the header.
