Hi there, Has anyone successfully mapped Employee Central’s “Termination Reason” field using “Extract Employee Data from SuccessFactors Task”? We wish to filter for voluntary exits as part of condition for exit survey; this should be identified by termination reason - event reason. We are having issue identifying the path to the field.“employmentNav/jobInfoNav/eventReasonNav/name” maps to last effected event reason thus is not helpful, we wish to send the survey upon entering of termination details in SuccessFactors. any help or sharing would be appreciated! 

After someone selects a choice from my Satisfaction question (1st question), the response is recoded to 1-5 as an embedded data object “OSAT” at the end of the Block in the Flow. When users click the first answer, then close the survey, the survey is not recording the OSAT ED object because it has not hit the Survey Flow and won’t until they go to the next page.Question: Can you set up a script in the Java code in the AddOnUnload field to capture the embedded data and record the ED object OSAT? 

This is actually slightly more complex than even that question asks.I am asking parents to complete a survey about their child’s language and they tick each word their child knows.I would like to produce a word cloud from the words their child knows. I'm trying to set a dynamic custom start position for a slider, but do not want it to be set using the default choice feature. I want to be able to force a response from the respondent, but have the start position be preset dynamically. If I use the default choice feature, it sets the start position but also allows the participant to skip answering and simply click forward because it preselects the answer. Therefore, the default choice feature cannot be used. The custom start position feature seems to only allow a static start position. setChoiceValue also doesn't work because it preselects the answer as well. I need the participant to actively choose a value.Has anybody else achieved this previously? I scoured the community, but the only answers pointed to the default choice option which does not solve my issue.This question has been asked before here, but the answer didn't add

Hi! For an intercept survey, I am pulling in the CurrentPageURL, but that URL contains a piece of data I would like to split out / store separately.  The piece of string I want is not always in the same position in the URL (the URL can be much longer than in this example), and the pieces of information in the URL are not always in the same order, but the string I want will always follow after ‘PNR=’. It’s the 6 letters after that I would want (yellow in the screenshot).Is there any way to store that information in a separate embedded field? We already tried passing through Adobe, but that will not work for us. I am not familiar with Javascript, but feel that’s the most likely way to do it… But wanted to confirm before I try to learn how to do that.

I would like to create an automated daily export that includes responses in progress -- basically the same file that a user can get by manually downloading from the “Responses in Progress” section in the Data & Analysis tab. I’ve been experimenting with the “export-responses” endpoint, but have only been able to capture submitted responses. I’m new to the API though, and am not sure if I’m looking in the wrong place entirely. Can anyone point me in the right direction? 

I use to have this coding but lost it but I am trying to create anchors in my email invite and reminder for a multi-lingual email that I would have the 3 languages on top and then anchor the specific language to the section of the email. For example: I have 3 languages (Spanish Portuguese, French) i have a title on top that says “language selection : Spanish | Portuguese | French and then I have each survey invite in each language in the email body and then I tried anchoring the language on top to the section in the email to the language selected on top. The last part is updating the survey link per each message to link the language to open with the Q_Language= Code ….  I started working at my company and they did not set up the automation to pull “Language” metadata in our lifecyles so this is the alternative route to create a multi-lingual email until we get that fixed and then we can use the emails that would pull from the language code and show the exact email temp

Hi There,Im trying to create a counter for an imported dataproject. Same thing like using Quota's for a survey but this feature is not available.I was trying to develop a custom code in a workflow of an imported dataset but this is also not working as I can't use the piped text as its not available? Is someone experienced with this? For now I cant seem to find a way to get an counter in the same project

Hello,I’m trying to integrate a looped question with a multi-choice drill down list.For example, using the qualtrics example of cars, they have a drill down where the user selects a year (group 1), make (group 2) and model (group 3) of a car. I’d like to be able to have a later question where the user to ranks the models of the particular make. Is this possible without having to manually re-enter the lists of models in JS?I know that I can pull the selected model easily, but is there a way to get all of the group 3 choices, rather than just the selected one?Thanks!

Hi,I have a requirement of a survey in which a multiple choice question needs to be created. It is for customer manager to login. Based on login, the corresponding customer account names need to appear as choice options for the question. It allows only single choice. The account names are placed in an embedded field with pipe separator. Below code does it visually by manipulating the DOM element. can we change the default shown text on dropdown in qualtrics eg "Select one" to "Unselected"  

Hello, We want to send out a survey using anonymous link and use a unique identifier in the URL field to fetch more data from salesforce regarding that specific respondent. The flow would be:Survey goes out to the customer Unique identifier is part of the survey URL and under the survey flow as embedded data Qualtrics to use the identifier to pull more data from salesforce That data is captured under embedded data in the survey responseI’ve tried web service in survey flow and it works while testing, but not during live survey as it seems to time out I guess. I’m not sure exactly which built in workflows of salesforce I can use to capture the date and add it to the survey response under embedded data. Has anyone done anything similar ? I cannot pass all the information through the URL since it might have sensitive information. 

HI All, Following the migration from the old world of Directory > automations (where I used an SFTP process to import a file of contacts and distribute a survey).  The screens / reports I get / can see no longer provide the number of lines imported and the number of surveys sent.  Is this something I can get to using piped text or something in the flow?  I used to review the reports for both import and distribution pages and from that I could easily see if the values matches or (on some occasions) were massively different (we have had three occasions this year now where double the number of surveys have been sent due to issues with Qualtrics’ internal systems repeating the send process for some unknown reason!). Any thoughts or suggestions (piped text / undisclosed embedded fields / API calls or a code task that could loop through and count even!) would be most helpful Thanks Rod Pestell 

Hi all,I would like to get some support with regards of the design of a three wave survey that I am working on. I've been working on this for days but can’t find a solution…. I am conducting a three wave study via Prolific, using Qualtrics. Participants will use an anonymous link to enter the survey. In the first wave, I automatically collect their ProlificID and they have to manually enter the name of a friend in a text field. In the second and third wave (with an interval of 3 days) I want to remind them of the name of the friend that they entered in the first wave based on their ProlificID. I considered several options:Working with directories: from my understanding this would require a personal link to look up the name of the friend from the contact list, that is no option. I am using Question Export Tags for my matrix questions. I want to pull my survey schema for dashboard via API and have hard time accesssing this information and I need this because this is how columns in my data are named. In Question object → Subquestion variableName is blank.Is my only solution to drop this functionality and map variables between surveys manually?Has anyone figured it out?

Hey folks.  I am not a dev, but I  do poke around with code. I have a side by side question with several rows and three columns. Each column represents a yes or no question about the row label.  I want one follow up per column that will pipe the text of any row label for which a person selects “no” in the question. I’ve been trying to do this with a combination of embedded data and JS. But it always fails to pass any embedded value. Even passing a generic test value from the side by side question block to the block with the follow up question fails. I’ve checked silly things like embedded data field values and survey flow, but I cannot get this to work.  Any clues on the issue? I’d like to use JS to do this if possible because I will have several side by side Qs like this that need follow ups for the no values only. It would be super nice to reference those values directly in the follow up. Happy to share a screen short of my code. Thanks.

​For some tasks, I can see that you can just select the task you want the data from, instead of pushing it via fields in the extension, like this:How is this done, and is there anyway I can see what is needed to make data available for the Basic Transform task for example, or how to get data from it?How do you define or access data sources?This seems to be a much better way to do this rather than passing loads of user data as raw text in an export.​

Hi folksI’m working on a follow-up survey question where I want to display embedded data (strand1q1nos) as a bulleted list. This embedded data comes from a side-by-side question earlier in my survey. Specifically, the piped text ${e://Field/strand1q1nos} contains a comma-separated list of all row labels corresponding to rows where the respondent selected "No" in column 1 of that side-by-side question.My initial JavaScript snippet (below) splits this embedded data string on commas to build the list, and it works fine as long as individual items do not contain commas themselves: I opted for this embedded data approach because I also tried parsing the data based on index values to handle the commas embedded  but that was too complicated for me and did not work reliably as the QIDs were not dependable for consistent index

I'm using two calls https://iad1.qualtrics.com/API/v3/distributions/{}/history’ and https://iad1.qualtrics.com/API/v3/directories/POOL_XXXXX/contacts/{} to create a CSV and get a complete distribution history of a survey (personal links + emails + anonymous links), but I run into timeout errors when doing this via async calls. The calls on their own work fine, but the asycnronous implemention seems to timeout. Are there any asynchronous examples available?

I am trying to apply advanced survey logic (identifying the max score for a multi-select question and applying custom weighting in order to calculate the weighted average). I tried using embedded data fields within Survey Flow by using piped text to pull the recode values of each selected choice, and then using math operations to determine the maximum and apply weighting. The formula is however not working for me. Not sure if this is the best approach/right approach/i have something wrong with the formula/if this is even something that can be done within Qualtrics?   Providing an example of one of the formulas I tried to enter in an embedded data field:$e{max (${q://QID27/SelectedChoicesRecode}) * 30}
