when looking at my data from exporting to excel in the status bar all i can see is the IP address

when looking at my data from exporting to excel in the status bar all i can see is the IP address no numbers as it it describes on the qualtrics webpage. I don't see any numbers as it describes below, i just see the IP addresses. Status The value in the Status column indicates the type of response collected. There are six main possible statuses: 0: A normal response 1: A preview response 2: A test response 4: An imported response 8: A possible spam response 9: A possible spam response submitted through the preview link 12: A possible spam response that was imported 16: A Qualtrics Offline App response 17: Previews submitted through the Qualtrics Offline App. This feature is deprecated in latest versions of the app

How Can I Display that a Question is Required to the Respondent?

That is, before they get a "This question requires a response" message when they try to skip it. Is the only way to do it to put "(required)" in the question text?

Scoring

I have created a survey that I want to come up with a total score at the bottom. I have assigned values to all answers but in the expert review it says that "end of scoring not set up". I don't know what I'm doing wrong! ! ! Any help is appreciated!

Pairing data in a longitudinal study

i am doing a longitudinal study that has three surveys at three time points. Is there anyway that Qualtrics can generate an anonymous code for each participant and this code stays the same for the same person in all three surveys so that i can match up their answers.

How can I export individual links to view results?

Hi, I need to export the individual results as links, similar to the links we get when someone completes a survey and we get a link with their responses. I didn't setup trigger emails, but I assume we can retrieve and export the links since we have their Response IDs. Thank you

Possible to load respondent data (eg, age group) AFTER the survey emails have gone out?

Is it possible to load respondent data (eg, work department, gender, age group) AFTER the survey emails have gone out? I know that it is indeed possible to load additional fields e.g. department, gender, age group, that could then be reported on using the Qualtrics reporting tool. The basic info I found gives an example with 3 additional fields but I guess there could be considerably more (is there a limit?). With this loading WITH the email addresses the additional data fields can then be reported against. For example you could have report by age group, department or whatever. I am not sure but I suspect you could report by any combo of 2 or more of these. Key here is that this additional data needs to be uploaded with the emails ie. BEFORE the emails are sent out. But is there also a means of uploading details that would allow for reporting of survey data in Qualtrics against data loaded AFTER the email shot. I mean, in effect, standard relational database cross-referencing.

Forgot to use embedded data for condition, is it possible to get this info somehow?

I forgot to add embedded data in my survey to distinguish between two conditions. Is it possible to somehow add this information once already the data has been collected?? Thank you!!

Exact match in embedded data

I have a list of unique codes set as embedded data, and I would need to verify whether the answer to the first question matches any code in this list. It seems qualtrics does not do "exact match". That is, suppose the embedded data is called "codeList", and i set it to = ABA2, ABC3, then when I enter "A" in the first question, it is considered a "match" because A is part of the list. How to make qualtrics to do exact match? !

Standardise image size across monitors in Heat Map

I want to make the images in my Heat Map based questionnaire appear the actual same size (i.e. in cm) on any computer monitor used by a participant. Could someone point me in the right direction?

Add a Timer on Survey Preview Page

I think a great new addition for the Survey Preview Page would be a timer. I often wonder how long it would take me (or someone else) to take a survey I develop. I would love to have a simple, start/stop timer on there so I can track how long it takes to complete the survey. Thanks, Stephen

How to play sound automatically

Hi! I'm trying to make survey, where I would like to have the question read out loud automatically. So far, I've been able to insert mp4 files from my library, but the respondent has to click play before the sound is played. I'd like to avoid this... Thanks in advance!

Identifying conditional questions that are not asked in the body of a 'Send Email' action

When a customer responds to our survey, it triggers an action to send an email to the appropriate store. In the body of the email I have piped in the question text and question response, for ALL questions. Some of those questions have display logic behind them and therefore may not be displayed. Our stores can't determine whether the question wasn't asked or if the customer ignored the question. Is it possible to either exclude those questions in the body of the email, or show something like 'Not displayed'?

Randomizing blocks between a set block

I am trying to figure out how to randomize questionnaires so that they are randomly presented before and after a manipulation. For example, my study has 10 questionnaires and a presentation of two videos (each with manipulation check questions before and after and also randomly presented one after the other). I would like to set up the qualtrics flow so that a random 5 questionnaires are presented before the videos and the remaining 5 are presented after. I have read through the help page on the randomizer function, but I am having trouble figuring out how this would look for my specific survey flow. Any help is appreciated, thank you!

Can't see the rest of my survey :(

Hello qualtrics Community Reaching out for help for a project I am working on. I am trying to create a profile test for my students using Qualtrics with direct results at the end. But every time I try to take the survey, only the first 5 questions of the first block appear with the results for this block. It seems that the test stops after the fist 5 questions and gives only the results for this first block. I have already tried to go over my survey flow and my scoring methodology but nothing seems to work. Thanks in advance for the help, A desperate (and very frustrated) newbie :(

One multiple choice and one text entry in 'answer'?

Hi! I am wanting to customize a survey question's answer options such that I can have multiple choice answers as well as text entry answers. I know that it is possible to allow text to a multiple choice option, but I was wondering if there was another way to do so because it is unusual to have to select the MC answer then input the response. For example: Q: How old are you? A: -(text entry): ____ years old. -(MC answer): I prefer not to answer Thank you!

Why is report breaking answers into Yes, No, Sometimes when that had noting to do with the question?

I just want to know, of the 5 possible choices for 1 question, which one's were selected by the 50 responders. The question has nothing to do with Yes, No, Sometimes, so I don't understand why Qualtrics is breaking the results into those 3 categories.

Randomly select a set of pictures from a group, without replacement.

I have 10 pairs of pictures (20 pictures in total, 10 are the "A" and 10 are the "B"). I want to randomly select 10 pictures in total (out of the 20) and for each picture I show, I want to ask the same question. There are two main issues I have to take into account: 1) I don't want to show the same picture to the same person twice (no replacement); 2) if I show a picture 1 from the A group to a respondent, I don't want to show the 1B (i.e., the corresponding pair) to the same individual. It is not clear to me what is the simplest way to do this in Qualtrics. So far, I have thought about creating two levels of randomization: 1 for the groups and a second for the pictures. This allows me to random assign an individual to either A or B and then to pick a picture from the 10. This does not help with the two issues of replacement. Do you have any idea how could I get this done?

Using response text from matrix question in the text for future questions

I am wanting to use answers from a matrix question with 6 possible answers to insert into text of a future question in the same survey. I have set up carry forward to identify the question from which I wish to extract the selections (in this case, Disagree or Strongly Disagree) and want a subsequent question to read along the lines of "in an earlier answer you said Disagree (or Strongly Disagree) that you get along well with XXX". I am simply not smart enough or well trained enough to do this! Anyone able to help please?

"No columns have been selected to import"

I exported some Qualtrics datato SPSS, added three new variables, and then saved it as a csv. file. I then tried to import it back into Qualtrics. However, in the "Configure your import question", it says "no columns have been selected to import" - in other words, all my columns are being ignored and I'd have to change the status of each single column manually to be imported. There must be a way around that. Is anybody familiar with this problem?

Trial version not displaying embedded variables

I am experimenting with the limits of functionality in a trial version of Qualtrics. I first developed a survey within a paid license. The survey used embedded data and displayed the values at the end of the survey. I have now replicated the survey in within a trial version. The only thing I have changed was the embedded data field names. I wanted shorter names so they are a 4 letter, all CAPS. It seems that the embedded data fields will now not display at the end of the survey. Any suggestions? Thanks

Validation on Side-By-Side Dropdown

Hi all, I'm trying to put some validation on the below side-by-side, so that if the text entry for the event name (far left column) isn't blank, then the dropdown for Main Artform can't be blank either. I can't seem to see anything obvious in the custom validation options to do this. The list in custom validation includes all the different dropdown options, but not something that seems to refer to the whole column. Am I missing something? Many thanks in advance! !

Need Help / Suggestions in Integrating a Pop Up survey and Slider

Hello All, I am currently trying to Implement a Pop Up Survey and a Slider Survey to a Internal Website. I am planning to have a Display Rate of 25% for the Pop up and rest for the slider. I can do this setup within 1 Intercept under the Action Set i can set it as 25% for Pop up and if this action doesn't run, then the slider will be shown. So it will either be a Pop up or slider that the user will see. However, I want the Pop Up to have a Prevent Repeated Display Logic of 14 Days and the slider to be visible in all pages at all time. The Option of Prevent Repeated Display Logic is only available at the Intercept Level, hence it applies to be both Pop up and Slider. Any Suggestions on how i can implement this. Thank You. Rakesh

Where has the Intercept ID gone?

I can no longer seem to find the Intercept ID - in the old interface it used to be available under the Test Intercept Menu Option. I note that under Embedded Data, adding an Intercept ID is still an option, so they must still exist. The reason I want it is so I can use it to set up a filter to exclude users who have seen an intercept in a different zone (project). I used to do this by filtering out the cookie for that intercept (which is essentially the intercept ID). So I guess an alternative question is, how do I identify the cookie that will be placed for a particular intercept? Answers to either or both of these questions would be amazing! Thank you!
