Qualtrics - How to use the Qualtrics Piped Text Feature Correctly?

Hi Qualtrics community,Need an assistance please. I'm new to using Qualtrics. The Qualtrics Piped Text is not working on my free account. The description at https://www.qualtrics.com/support/survey-platform/managing-your-account/trial-accounts/ did state that Piped Text works on free accounts. So, basically I would like to display the answer choice selected from Q4 to a question at Q6. But the piped text at Q4 does not want to appear at Q6. I have already selected "Selected Choices" from Q4 as the Piped Text at Q6 question. Refer to the 3 screenshots in this ticket request. Please advise. Thank you.

Wrong footer and Display Name show up using anonymous link

Dear Qualtrics Community, I have a question regarding the Display Name and footer in a survey: When I previewed my study using the anonymous distribution link, I noticed that I was shown a wrong Display Name and footer. Now, after correcting them, they are correct in the preview of my study, but when I click on the anonymous link, the wrong Display Name and footer show up again. I tried logging out and back in again to ensure that the changes were saved, but the error occurred again. Has anyone encountered this problem before?Thank you very much for your help!Best regards,Linda

I'm not sure if this is a question but is this a bug or does support need to fix this?

Hi. When trying to import embedded data from the contacts list in the survey, all my embedded data is undefined. Is this something support needs to fix or is it a bug? Thanks =)

Generation of specific numbers randomly?

Dear members of Qualtrics community.I want to ask you for advice regarding random number generator. I'm familiar with the random number generator using piped text (e. g. ${rand://int/1:3}), but I need to generate randomly only specific numbers, not numbers of a specific range. In the given example I need to assign randomly only number 1 or number 3, not a number from the range of 1 to 3. Is there any possibility to modify the standard command for a random number generator or a different way how I can reach my goal?Thank you for any advice.

Preserving recodes during Carry Forward

Is there a way to carry forward recodes as well when carrying forward alternatives? I have two questions that have the same alterantives and I would like to have the same alternative recodes for both questions. Can this be achieved without manually recoding both questions or editing the survey definition file?

Output based on comparsion of embedded data values

Dear community members, I would like to ask you for advice regarding the possibility of comparing embedded data values.I have several numeric embedded variables (e.g. NT1, NT2, NT3, NT4). For future use, I need to compare the value of these variables respectively used following logic in the "branch element" or/and in "the display logic". The logic I need to use is "Display question"/"then branch if" the embedded data NT1 > NT2 AND > NT3 AND > NT4. I'm right that the conventional way of writing an operator into branch element or display logic expects the numeric value after "is greater than"? So, the picture below is probably nonsense? Consequently, my question is: Is there any way to put the order I mentioned to branch element/display logic? I'm also thinking about evading this problem, and this is my second question. Is there any possibility of creating an embedded variable with a specific value as a result of comparing the source embedded variable's values? For example, (new embedded

The link attached in question doesn't work

Did anyone insert a link in the question? I follow the guideline to insert a hyperlink in the question and the end of the survey. They do work when i built the questionnaire, but once i preview the questionnaire, they fail to access to the other webpage. I have upgrade my account to a DesignXM account, but it doesn't seem to help. If someone has some good ideas, please let me know. Thank you so much.

Looking to Auto-populate Answers from Multiple Questions into One Single Question

I am looking to auto-populate answers from multiple questions into one single question. For example, if a person responds "x" to Q1 and "y" to Q2, I would like for both "x" and "Y" to populate as the answer choices in Q3.Questions 1 and 2 are both form field questions with 6 different fields to be filled in. I have included Javascript in these questions to have a mixture of both text entry and drop down options.Question 3 would follow the same layout as questions 1 and 2 and include the same 6 fields. However, for question 3 I would just like the answer choices from each field of questions 1 and 2 to be displayed.Would this be possible to achieve? I don't have much experience with Javascript so any help with this question would be greatly appreciated.

Color testing a product

My client would like to color test a product where we have a B&W line drawing of the product and the respondent can pick colors from a given pallet. The ideal solution would be drag and drop, so that the respondent can "play" with colors to develop their ideal color scheme. The final product could be all 1 color or multiple colors depending on their taste.Is this possible with Qualtrics? If not, does anyone know of another solution that could perhaps be integrated into Qualtrics? Thanks in advance!

Respondendts received email trigger that I didn't set up

Hi all, I have received an email reply to what seems to be an email trigger that I have not set up for my survey.The respondent received the email that I used as a probe that I deleted before I published the survey.I have checked the email trigger options, and there are no email triggers set up.It is not in my research plan to send email triggers.What might be the issue?If anyone has had this issue before, I would appreciate it if you share what you did to resolve it.

Adding email address to receive completed survey

When someone completes our survey, several people on my team receive an email copy of the answers to the survey. I'm trying to add a new email address to receive a copy of a completed survey but cannot find where I would do that. I can't find the list of people who currently receive these emails. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Using Randomizer in Survey Flow to Randomize Question Order

I am using the randomizer feature within the survey flow. I have 4 total elements (also randomizers) and have told the survey flow to randomly present 4 elements. Here are my questions--Will every respondent see all 4 elements? Or could some respondents see the same element twice?Do I need to select "evenly present elements" to ensure that no respondent sees the same element twice?Many thanks!

Can I set a time limit for each question? To illustrate, I want to give the participants a space of three seconds only to choose their answers. When the three seconds is over, the next questions will appear automatically.Is there a feature can help for this regards?Thanks

How may I add a selection to a drop-down question I am using on multiple surveys more efficiently?

My organization visits schools that request us to present our 10 modules to their students. We have both pre and a post-survey for our 10 modules that students are required to take. When we receive a new school visit request we have to go into each of the 20 surveys and add the school's name to a drop-down question in each of the 20+ surveys. As you can imagine this is very time-consuming. I do not want to change the question format, but I would like to know if there is a way to edit this question on all of our 20 surveys at once. For example, let's say "Sky-High" requests us to visit their school. For the drop-down question which asks students to select from a list "Your school?", ideally I would like to add "Sky-High" as a selection for all 20 of our surveys at once instead of having to go individually into each one and add "Sky-High". I really hope this is possible and I appreciate any guidance you may have for me to simplify this process!

Random number out of set of 2 & How to use previous random number in next question

For my experiment, i need a random number of either 3 or 5. The random number function in qualtrics only provides a min and max. I found another question on this forum that says that it can be done with randomizing embedded data.I use the following piped text: $e{ 15 - q://QID12/TotalSum + e://Field/Number}. This however, provides me with an error of  {Invalid Expression}. Does anyone know what i have to change?Moreover, i would like to use the random number (question 1) in a follow up question(question 2), is this possible? That would be something like this: $e{ 15 - q://QID12/TotalSum + e://Field/Number (question 1) - q://QID14/TotalSum + e://Field/Number(question 2) }

Hello! Emails from Actions are not sending to me

Hello Everyone, I was fiddling with email actions to send an email to people upon survey completion. I could get the emails to send to any email except my own. I tried setting my own email as a fixed recipient, as piped information from the survey, and also as a survey respondent but no emails ever come to me. I have also checked my junk box.I used some of my other email addresses as tests which work. I've asked colleagues to complete the survey and they got an automatic mail. I've also set my colleagues as test recipients which also worked. It is only with my organization email that I cannot receive any system mail. Can anyone help me with this?

Problem with math operator used as embedded data

Dear community members, I would like to ask you for any advice regarding the problem with the usage of math operator for embedded data. I just want to create a simple index by computation of the value of three responses and saving this value as embedded data for future use. Redirect based on text entry answer

I have a somewhat complicated attention check that I'm not sure how to build and am hoping someone can help me with.My survey has 4 different conditions, with a randomizer branching to present participants with one of four different stimuli at the very beginning (I'm saving their condition as an embedded variable). Then on the next page one of the things I have is a text entry question where the correct answer will depend on which condition they were in. So in essence what I have to do is convert their text entry answer to fully lowercase (because we don't consider the answer case sensitive), then check whether it equals some condition-dependent string, and if it doesn't then redirect them to a termination url (letting them continue in the survey if their answer was correct).Does anyone know how I can do something like this?Thanks in advance!
