Unupdated Quota Count

I recently published a survey without setting any quota.After receiving 5 responses, I added a quota count to be 5 once certain conditions are met. The previous 5 responses had all conditions met for quota increment. However, the quota count was 0 even after re-publishing the survey, and my friend could still access the survey although the condition set was to end the survey once the quota was met. Does qualtrics apply quotas to responses received after making the changes in quota by default? If not, why is this happening and how do I fix it? Thanks!

Updated Quota not working after re-publishing the survey

Hi To test the function of quota, I published another survey with 2 conditions for quota.Please refer to the images below:Initially, I set both quotas to be 1. Completed the survey myself twice and the quota target was met for both groups. However, after increasing the M Quota from 1 to 3 and republishing the survey, I get the message “This survey has reached its quota and responses are no longer being solicited.” How do I fix this (no longer see the above message; i.e. submit another response)?

View-only response pages being decommissioned after February 18, 2023

I was just notified that https://qualtrics.com/CP/Report.php?SID={surveyId}&R={responseId} is being decommissioned after February 18, 2023. How can I view a response without having to fire off an event or email trigger? 😥

Exporting Translation

Good evening, I understand how to export survey translations and open them in Excel, however when I am opening the language code Qualtrics is also exporting the code like this ‘<span style="font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size:16px;"><strong>’. Is there a way to export without this?I have copied the survey and restored it to be just text but the coding is still there. :)

Pre-and post- assessment matching - anonymous

We will be administering curriculum-based assessments via Qualtrics to measure learning gains in high school students pre- instruction vs. post-instruction.  In the past, we have tried a number of strategies to get matching pre- post-data with a minimum of human-hours required to find missing or incorrectly entered matches.  We have not found a satisfactory way to force validated matching options.  We typically have to match anywhere from a few hundred, to about a thousand pre- and post- assessments.  As you can imagine, doing this manually is extremely time intensive.  Here are the things we have tried so far:we have assigned ID numbers to students that they needed to remember for their post test.  Results = not great - many forgotten numbers, numbers entered incorrectly, students entering made up numbers, etc. We have assigned ID numbers based on patterns (first two letters of the teacher’s last name, class period as a two-digit number, and school-based student ID number).  Results =

Quotas

Hello,  Once the survey has been completed 250 times, I would like any subsequent people to be redirected to a URL.  I though I would select, prevent all new survey sessions, but ‘End current survey’ is the only option to redirect.  Is this correct?

Need to copy pre-formatted survey results when copying base survey

We have a base set of surveys that we use with our clients. We copy the master surveys and modify them as needed. With the old results page, we also had preformatted visualizations ready to go for the base questions. Those preformatted visualizations also copy over when you copy the master survey. However, in the new results page, the visualizations reset when you copy the survey. This is an unsustainable model for us as it takes about an hour to recreate visualizations for the shortest of our surveys and we are in a constant process of collecting surveys. Has anyone found a workaround for this problem? I have already submitted requests for this feature in Evolve and apparently they’re never approved because I can never find them again.

Recorded responses and Finished Surveys don't match

I have an anonymous survey in Qualtrics that I sent to 14 people via email distribution.When I download the response history, 9 are labelled “Survey Finished”, 2 are labelled “Survey Partially Finished”, 2 are labelled “Survey Started”, and 1 is labelled “Email Opened”.When I look at the “Data and Responses” tab, I see 10 Recorded Responses and 2 in progress.    Shouldn’t there  be 11 Recorded responses (9 +2)? For more context, the survey is still open.  But I set it to record incomplete responses after one week.

Categorizing Questions

Hi Everyone,Wanted to discuss regarding solution to one of my requirement. I have a thought but it does not seems to be efficient so checking with the community to find out a better option.In my survey, there are around 50 questions and among those 50 questions I want to flag few of the questions as 'Important'.Lets say there are 10 questions which need to be categorized as 'Important' and those questions are being asked in different blocks/sections of the project.Is there any parameter or feature available for each questions where we can add 'Important' keyword for every such question and can refer it during our analysis to identify 'Important' questions.Below is one of the work around which i was able to think about, but it does not seems to be efficient.We can name the questions in some kind of format with which we can identify that this is a question from 'Important' category, for example we can postfix question name with something like "_Imp".Thanks,Salim

SURVEY Request response: change translation for the current automated response

Hello Qualtrics CommunityWe would like to adjust one of the automated responses giving by the system when the survey requests to users give an answer (see images):As far as I know, the automated message showed above appears when the survey requests to be answered but not forced (open question is not mandatory). Display logic to hide some answer options based on users selecting answers from the SAME question

I’ve built a question with about 10 multi-select MCQ options. I want to put in a logic so that if a user selects a specific answer option, all of the other answer options (for that SAME question) disappear I’ve tried editing the display logic for that answer option - it actually lets me create the rule, but when I go to preview it, it doesn’t work.Can I do this?I want to avoid having to create two different questions if possible.

Exporting Combo - Recode Values for Most Fields and Text Labels for a Few

Greetings,I am new to the Qualtrics platform, but have been working with surveys for a while. I have a survey that is mostly likert scale-style questions but also one (or two) questions that are Multiple Choice (pick one/drop downs) that have a text value that I want to see in my export. Basically, it’s organization name (open text), department (drop-down list), q1 (recode), q2 (recode) etc..I want my export to include Department Names field as text and then use the recode values for the all of the remaining question fields. It seems like it should be a relatively straight forward need. I see that when exporting I can pick either numeric values or choice text. Is there no way to export with both? Or should I be setting the survey itself up differently (e.g. using a different question type for the department value),  althoughI do need to use standardized values for Department.I have tried setting Department to Variable Name in the question setup, but that doesn’t seem to make a differen

Restrict users to take survey only once per Reservation ID, Using Authenticator

Hello!I am launching a hotel/resort survey and I would like guests to be able to take the survey multiple times throughout the year. In order to accomplish this, I developed a two part solution. Create a workflow that upon completion of the survey, updates a contact list with the guests confirmation ID ONLY. At the top of the flow, I have a pre-fill authenticator that checks this list to see if the guests current confirmation #, passed in through the URL (variable is named conf), is on the list. If it IS on the list, meaning they have taken the survey already with this confirmation #, I send them directly to the EOS message. Only allow one attempt, so if the confirmation # is not on the list, aka they haven’t taken the survey yet, it skips the branch, and just continues with the survey.The only problem is that… It’s not working. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong, but I can’t get it to work for the life of me. I’ll attach some screen shots of how I have the authenticator set up. If anyo

Hi, I am trying to add a bar chart to a report, but there is a limit to the bar chart - I am seeing a message: “Field QID… has 200 values which exceeds the maximum (150).”  Can you confirm there is a limit to the total bars shown in bar charts in reports?

Preventing Duplicate Survey Submissions

Hi Qualtrics Folks, I was wondering if anyone had advise on preventing duplicate survey submissions for a biannual survey?  Our study is on housing insecurity and our population frequently changes addresses, phone numbers and emails. To make sure we reach as many of our 1300 participants as possible, we send out personal links in the mail, via email distribution, and also text distribution every six months. Some people are completing their mail survey as well as email and text, thinking they are different surveys, we can only compensate them for one of these submissions and it frustrates them (understandably, the surveys are long). All participants have an external data reference ID attached to their answer as well as First Name and email on file. Does anyone have advice on preventing them from answering the survey over multiple communication methods?

Drag, drop & Rank- extra unexplained column in the results data set

Hi everyone, I ran a survey with a drag, drop and rank question containing 16 items. When I saw the results, I noticed that there was an extra column (Column S) containing the rank of my items. But ranks in Column S do not correspond with the rank that the individual items received (columns T through AI). I tested my survey by inputing my own ranks and found that the ranks displayed in the individual columns T through AI is the correct one. My question is - what is the relevance and meaning of Column S here?Has any one else ever encountered this?Thank you very much in advance,Rashi

Survey randomly starting over at different sections

I am fielding a survey with between 20-30 respondents taking a survey all in one location. Out of each group, about 3 or 4 randomly lose their place in the survey and are sent back to the beginning. There’s no rhyme or reason to where this is taking place. It seems very random. Has anyone seen this problem occur? Is there a solution?

Way to Run the N-Back Working Memory Test

Hello!I am a student researcher and I am currently figuring out a way to administer the N-Back Working Memory Test via Qualtrics, that way the scores of the participants can all be transferred and saved into Qualtrics.I attached a link to an example of what the N-Back test is, for it can include anything from pictures to letters to numbers. This one includes pictures. I was wondering if the N-Back Working Memory Test has been administered via Qualtrics before? Or if you know of someone who may know? I do not know if there is a way to include this link while having the scores from the link saved to Qualtrics. Or is it possible that something like this can be created on Qualtrics? Figuring this out is the last step I need to take before I can send out my survey!http://cognitivefun.net/test/4

Dynamic Survey

Hello,I would really appreciate if you could help me achieve the following: I have two slider questions. The first one has a range from 1-1000. What I need is for the second slider question to be bound, at the maximum, by 60% of the input value in the first slider. For example, I choose the number 1000 (the max) in the first slider question. I would then need to see, for the second question, a slider that either: Displays a new range from 1 to 600 (600 being 60% of 1000). Or Doesn’t allow me to input a number over 600 (if the display cannot change for some reason). Do you think you could help me with this? I’ve been trying with JavaScript codes from ChatGPT but nothing works.Thanks, lajos

Embedded data within a block

Is it possible to calculate embedded data inside a block (rather than after it) and use it for display logic for subsequent questions in the same block?I have a block of questions, some of which are used to calculate a score in the format of embedded data. However, the embedded data is only calculated after the block is completed, as seen in ‘Survey Flow’. I would like to use this embedded data within that block to direct participants to different subsequent questions (from the same block) depending on their score.But the ‘Survey flow’ section allows to insert embedded data only between blocks, not inside them.Does this mean I need to split my block into several blocks, with the embedded data calculated in between them?Any advice will be appreciated. Thank you.

How to end a survey if an item from a multiple choice question is NOT selected

Hi,In my survey there’s a multiple choice question (multiple answers allowed) and I would like to end the survey if a certain option is NOT selected i.e.  Option 1Option 2Option 3Option 4 If Options 1, 2, 3 and 4 are selected, the survey proceeds. However, if Option 4 is NOT selected (for example), the survey has to end.I’ve tried adding branching logic but it doesn’t seem to trigger for some reason.What do you think I’m doing wrong? Thanks so much in advance!
