Survey Platform

Hi Qualtrics Community,  I’m new to qualtrics and am working on putting together a social network analysis questionnaire where I am asking my respondents to  “Please list all the formal organizations you’re affiliated with and your role within them”I am adapting this from a paper survey where I am asking them to manually write these down, but I want to have an online option.Currently, I am using the text entry multiple lines option (pressing enter after each affiliation), but I would like to organize this reflect the separate entry format. I am also open to adding a multiple choice option for an individual’s role in an organization. Does anyone have any recommendations about how I would organize a question like this in Qualtrics? Thanks, John

I’m new to Qualtrics and can’t make branch logic work as I’d like to.I have 2 matrix questions (with 5 items in each).  If the mean score of each matrix question is below 2, I’d like to ask a follow-up qualitative question. The survey works as expected when Matrix 1 & Matrix 2 are Low/Low, Low/High & High/High.  When it is High/Low - Matrix 1 mean is above 2 and Matrix 2 is below 2, the survey does not present the 2nd follow up question (Uniqueness Qual). Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have a constant sum matrix with three column.I want to set a validation so that the sum of the 1st column may or may not be 100.But the column 2 and 3 must be equal to 100.

In Question 1 we ask the responded the countries they have worked in (Out of 10). Based on their answer we need to make a loop. In the loop we need to ask a set of 5 questions. Those questions need to be asked for 15 companies. So the sequence of the loop goes --> 5 questions for each company starting from the first country then moving onto the next country. The problem that I’m facing is that the loop moves to the next country after the “Company 1” without exhausting rest of the companies. Is this correct?Side note: I need to pipe in the company and country names from fields into the Questions text as well.

Hello, is it possible to ensure that Qualtrics reports can be generated in a mobile-friendly format, automatically adjusting to different screen sizes?

I am relatively new to Qualtrics and have a limited (at best) experience with coding. I am hoping that someone might be able to help me with the following:I have an array of 47 images and I want to display 1 image (at random) with three follow up questions per page. Each participant will answer the same set of three questions for each of the 47 images. However, I want the image order to be random for each participant and I want for the participant to see each picture once per survey. I have read various forums regarding choice/block randomization and the loop and merge function but I am struggling to apply these to my project. I have uploaded the 47 images into my “library” but I don’t know the best way to get the pictures from the library and into the survey. I saw another forum mention embedding each image URL into a multiple choice question and then implementing the choice randomization. However, I don’t want the participant to “choose” a picture (as they would for a multiple choice

Hello,My group is task to develop a survey to track customer behaviors. We have the customer contact information (i.e. email). Simple enough! Then we were told that we also need to send customer a letter by mail with the URL in case some might not see the email invite. But we need to make sure that each customer only complete the survey once.My initial thought was to use the authenticator, so I followed the steps, but the didn’t seem to work. So I proceeded to creating two survey and link them together, following the instrument found in this Youtube link. That did work as our ability to customize anonymous have been removed. Wondering if anyone has any thoughts what other method can be use for this issue. Much appreciate the input in advance.

Hello, Totay I have a simple question for the community. But maybe the answer is not so simple. How can I add a mouse-over text to explain Conjoint feature and levels? Thanks a lot. Maren

I am doing a study with predetermined dyads (the individual who qualifies for the study and a significant other of theirs they recruit as well), who will each take separate Qualtrics surveys. Each person, i.e. the individual and sig other, will email me to enroll in the study, and once they both people in the dyad email me, I will send them their respective survey link for Qualtrics. How should I go about keeping track of the survey data so I know which survey responses should go together for the dyad? Is there anyway I can make multiple custom links for each survey, so for example, send out a link that identifies they are from Dyad 1 so I know what 2 survey responses to link together?

Hi, I am curious of how I can immediately display feedback when participants select an option in a multiple-choice question?Currently, I've designated correct and incorrect answers (in the scoring options under survey options), but participants can only view this feedback after clicking the 'Next' button after making their choice in the multiple-choice question. I want them to see the feedback immediately without having them to press this button. Participants have to click the next button to see feedbackParticipants have to click the next button to proceed to the next math question

I am seeking guidance on how to best replicate the following type of table, where column 1 is piped text from a previous question, and the respondent must answer mutliple questions about each selection. (And the number of piped items in column 1 can range from 1 - 4 responses).  See photo:

Hello,I'm attempting to provide feedback—either "Incorrect" or "Correct"—for a 500 multiple-choice arithmetic questions. For example, a question might be "3+5=10" with options 1)  True or  2) False (I will NOT be using true/false questionnaire type) I've tried using display logic, but it's quite labor-intensive and time-consuming. Is there a simpler way to achieve this? I'm relatively new to Qualtrics, so any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hi all,Is there a way to get text/graphic questions to appear in my data export? I want to be able to see for each participant, whether a specific text/graphic question appears to them.My survey has a series of questions linked together with complex display logic - depending on the participant’s response, the logic will lead to a text/graphic question being shown.Specifically:I have a series of 15 clinical scenarios For each scenario, the participant clicks through a series of question asking about a prescription depending on what they’ve clicked, my qualtrics survey will show whether that prescription was compliant or non-compliant with guidelines. The compliant/non-compliant questions are text/graphic questions and there is no user interaction Participant then moves onto the next clinical scenario and does this process againThis is my survey flow. Note that the compliance questions are positioned at the end of the “Assessment questions” blockMy problem is that the compliant and non-c

Hi, We plan to send the survey every 3 months to 100 participants. However, we want the survey to be accessible only during specific time frames. For instance, participants may only complete the survey between March 1st and March 31st. The challenge is that all 100 participants will be enrolled at different times, resulting in varying availability periods for each of them. For example, participant A enrolls on January 1st. So, their survey window period would be between March 1-31. Participant B enrolls on February 1st. So, So, their survey window period would be between April 1-30. Participant C enrolls on February 15th. So, their survey window period would be between April 15 to May 15. And so on.  What would be the best way to implement this using the same anonymous link for all 100 participants?  P.S. we do not plan on using unique survey link as some participants may not have reliable email and phone number.  Thank you!

Hello - does anyone know if it is possible to program a dynamic pop up if the respondent chooses a particular answer in a matrix question like the one below? For each row if the second option 2 is chosen (Heard of it, never used it)?

Good day!I’ve noticed that the number of online reviews for my organization has dropped significantly in the last two weeks. We solicit these reviews through a survey we send our clients. What I’ve noticed through some testing is that the solicit reviews widget that allows for a Google Review to be done within the survey is no longer working, as it used to. They are now being asked if they want to post a review first.Could this be failing because of Google’s removal of 3rd party cookies from chrome? I’ve been seeing articles, and wonder if anyone else is experiencing these issues using the platform.

I am building a survey with multiple slider questions on a page. There are instructions at the top of the page which apply to the whole page, and I want to make it clear that the slider questions are nested under the text paragraph at the beginning. To do so, I want to indent each question 45px. I found this javascript code in a previous discussion, but it doesn’t work for me: Qualtrics.SurveyEngine.addOnload(function(){    jQuery("#"+this.questionId).find('.QuestionBody:first').css("margin-left", "45px");});I also am able to indent the text of each question with HTML, but it doesn’t indent the question itself. For an example of what I am looking for, see the outline below:Task description and explanation. This is a paragraph that is a few sentences long. This should be the only text hitting the left side of the page, and everything else indented.      Q1 Question 1 text      slider question 1 2 3 4 5 6 7      Q2 Question 2 text      slider question 1 2 3 4 5 6 7      Q3 Question 3 tex

Other than hardcoding, is there a way to have a custom “survey not available yet” message show WHEN the survey will be active? Ideally I’d have a reusable, dynamic library message that would simply say:“This survey will be available from {OPEN DATE AND TIME} through {CLOSE DATE AND TIME}.

Hi - Our team recently started sending surveys with an inline email question. When reviewing the results, we’re seeing a high number of duplicate responses that we’ll need to remove from our data. Is there any way to prevent respondents from re-entering the survey from the initial email invite? For example, they select “10” the first time and then open the email again and click “9”.

Hi, I wonder if it is possible to include a personalized (or not) link to the survey in a response to the client, the first question would be a question where the scale would be smileysexample:

Hi everyone, I am hoping to please get some help or insight with randomizing blocks in the Survey Flow. I will be doing a survey experiment wherein participants will be randomly assigned to 2 of 20 conditions, but I would like for certain blocks not to be drawn or presented together. In my Survey Flow, the Randomizer is set to randomly present 2 of the 20 blocks, and the blocks will be evenly presented. I would not like for certain blocks to be presented together or paired though. Any suggestions or help would be much appreciated! Thank you!

I created a survey about a month ago and distributed the link to many recipients. After a while with 0 responses, I realised whlist the link works, it does not record the responses. The link works fine and allows you to see the survey and submit your response, it just doesn’t appear in the reports tab and shows 0 responses still. I have tested this multiple times.I have since generated a new link, but I have lost all of the data and previous responses. How can I get this response data back from the original link? It is very important.

I’m wondering if there is a way to randomize questions in a block, but constrain the randomization such that certain questions don’t appear after specific other questions. For example, imagine we have questions [Q1...Q10]. I’d like to randomize them such that Q2 doesn’t appear adjacent to (immediately before or after) Q6, Q3 doesn’t appear adjacent to Q8 etc. I don’t want to skip these questions entirely; just have them appear in different places such that they aren’t next to the other questions. Alternatively, is there any way to import a csv file with a randomization list that might determine the order in which questions appear? If I generated a csv or txt file which had a list of 50 permissible question orders (e.g., lists that looked like [Q3,Q2,Q5,Q1,Q6,Q8,Q9,Q4]), would I then be able to use that csv file to tell qualtrics which order questions within a block should be shown?  I’m open to other ways to do this. Thanks in advance!

In a constant sum.I want to add a validation so that the total of the column is not greater than 100 (can be less than 100).

What are your pros and cons for deleting incomplete survey responses?  For context, this is a customer experience survey, so any response is valuable. Some responses are totally blank. Some have varying completion levels, or skipped questions. My thinking is…Pros:Data is cleaner for analysis More accurate reflection of survey completion Response Quality by ExpertReview is closer to 100%Cons:Could we lose the interaction history of the customer interaction in the XM Directory? If we decide to thank customers for their responses, will their history be lost?
