Hi, I’m asking a survey question that uses piped text to display a date nine months prior using this: ${date://OtherDate/FL/-9 month}It works great but displays as month dd, yyyy format. I’m wondering if there is a way to get it to ‘round’ up to the month, and display only month yyyy.TIA!

I have a survey with questions for students, each question has three options.  Based on the answer to the question I need to assign the top three academic majors associated with the question in the background.  At the end I would like to display the academic majors in order from largest to smallest which were stored based on the answers.  3 answers for per question, time 3 variables for the top 3 majors times 30 questions is a huge amount variables.  And like I said I would also like to report the majors that appeared the most at the end for the student taking the survey this could be in an email hopefully

For a research study I want to let participants fill in as many answers to a question as they can within two minutes, but I also want to add a “random word” button or something alike. I hope I can link  a database of words and Qualtrics picks a random word when the user presses a button for example - to see if they come up with different words based on the random word. Is this doable in Qualtrics? I’ve tried with adding multiple blocks and then using the Randomizer picking one of those words, but the problem then is that the 2 minute timer will be gone.  

Hello,I am hoping to find a way to do a lookup to a table based on the response to a question.For example:The current survey begins with a question that asks whether someone has the required credentials to logon via Shibboleth.If YES, the survey has the person logon via Shibboleth, then moves to the survey questions. If NO, the survey has the person answer a question that requires identifying information, then moves to the survey questions.Instead, if NO I would like to use the identifying information collected by the survey question and do a search in our data file to determine if someone does have credentials for Shibboleth.If the person does not have credentials, then move forward with survey questions. If the person does have the credentials, respond back with the username etc and bring them to the Shibboleth screen to logon.Is this doable? Any assistance would be very appreciated! Thank you  

Hello,  When I go to make a custom inactive survey message it does not appear when I go to an inactive anonymous link. For emailed links the default message still appears. When making the new message, it appears in the library many times.This happens both with setting survey availability to the past and setting a message there, setting an inactive message and pausing results and a combination of both.Anyone come across this before, or know how to fix it?  

Hello! I have a live survey for which anonymous links have been distributed to several of our clients with client info included as embedded data in the URL parameters. We present reports back to clients only when they have full team participation. One client swears that all members have participated (individual members confirm), but 2/4 records are missing. I’ve tested the link, as present in the email to this client(it works), checked for responses that may have resulted from some corruption in the embedded data (there are none), checked partial responses (nothing), and revisited every place I can imagine human error creeping in on my side (everything checks out). So my question is this:If we assume the client is telling the truth, what could possibly explain this? Could there be some sort of firewall or security in place that allows the email in, but catches / disallows the submission? (Thank you!)

It is me only or authentication is not working? I set an authentication branch, attached a contact list, and included Email as an authentication field. But just writing any word is enough to pass to the next page. It’s not active ignore validation and this is happening even in other projects where I already verify this works well. Is this a Qualtrics error platform, anyone knows?  Thank you! 

How do I alternate background colors for rows in my constant sum matrix table, but only alternate colors of the rows that are specific questions to fill out and keep the colors of the statement group headings the same?

Hello! I am working with a constant sum matrix table where respondents input a number that is 0-100 at each column-row intersection and each column totals to 100 at the bottom. Is there a way to further limit them so that they may only input numbers that are increments of 5? E.g., instead of being able to give a 47%, 53% split, they are required to give a 45%, 55% split? 

I am new to Qualtrics and Java, never used either. I have a matrix question with several rows of options and a last row for ‘others’ where participants can add their answers and select an option on the respective Likert scale. The problem is that if you mistakenly click on any of the Likert scale options for ‘others’, it won’t let you uncheck and you are forced to write something in the text box for ‘others’. I would like participants to be able to unselect their options for the last row only.I can see that there are some solutions provided for it by the community but being completely unfamiliar with Java, I am not able to get my head around how to proceed with adding a deselect button, where to put the Java code or how to find the question ID etc. Can someone please be kind enough to explain in a more step-by-step way?

Hi, I have a question if there’s a way to customize the message on an anonymous survey  landing page before it is live. Can the message that reads the “survey is not currently active” be customized for example - it will be live <date>? 

Hi, I have a question on dashboards and understand there’s a few data sources Qualtrics builds dashboards thru, via surveys, survey distribution. I only see the option to select an existing survey. How do you link the survey distribution as a source in a new dashboard project? ​​​Thanks!

I’m trying to change the Gabor Granger template Qualtrics provides. I want the willing to pay question to be 5 options instead of 2 options. I tried to recode the values (option 1 & 2 = 1, option 3, 4, 5 = 2) but that did not work.How can I adjust the JavaScript to accept this change?Thanks!

I am using a Factorial Survey Method for my study. I have 16 vignettes, of which two of the 16 are randomly assigned to a survey participant. In pre-testing feedback, a survey participant thought the two vignettes were the same. The vignettes were similar but not exactly the same.Is there a way to label the two vignettes that are randomly assigned and seen by a survey participant as Scenario One and Scenario Two so the survey participant knows they are different?

Hello,I’m using the MaxDiff project type (NOT the matrix / table question type in a standard survey), and I’m wondering if there’s any way to add custom CSS or any other code to modify / customize the instructions since there is not a rich content editor when you set up the display for MaxDiff. What I’m hoping to do is be able to bold or underline certain words so it’s not just one large wall of text for respondents to read. Any help or insight would be much appreciated!

I need to upload data from a survey to another with different participants. I tried importing the data into a question and also another time into an embedded data, in the second survey. when I try to display the data, none works. is there any way to use imported data in a question survey?

I am trying to write a question asking the customer for the amount of days they waited for something by mail.I have tried setting the form fields to allow a numeric answer, and am not having any luck. I want them to write a number of days between 1 and 30. Please advise. 

I’m completely new at using Qualtrics and so am still looking at which plan is my best option.My survey will have between 2.500 and 3.000 responses and I am the only one working on it. As far as I can see no plan allows me more than 1.000 responses pr. user. If I go for the CoreXM plan with up to 10 users and 1.000 respondents pr. user, can I then just activate 3 users, copy the survey, send out 3 different links tied to the 3 different users (I’m surveying a group I easily can divide into either 3 or 4 groups), and then merge the responses once I have them all?Or is there some really simple way for me to increase the max. number of respondents on one single user without going for the top plan, which I assume is waaaaaay too expensive for my needs? :-D

Hi, I would like my participants to only be able to select one option from both columns. Meaning if they select “really true for me” they should not be able to select any other options, not from the same column and not from the other column. Would that be possible? Thank you! 

Hi, I’m new to Qualtrics. I would Jotform for most of our more intricate forms, which has a pretty straight forward platform,  however, our university has moved to Qualtrics. I need to convert this Jotform into a Qualtrics form. I was able to tackle some of the features needed, but it’s been extremely difficult to navigate through Qualtrics to try to achieve the look of the original form as well as some of the conditional formatting and calculations. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated!

With the help of this community - I have build my survey! I wanted to ask about some must-do’s for analysis and data collection - I don’t want to miss something important.Does anyone have a basic checklist of what absolutely should be programmed into the collection, screen-outs, pacing, speed trap etc elements?Any advise would be great!-Marta

This link https://www.qualtrics.com/support/survey-platform/data-and-analysis-module/text-iq/topics-in-text-iq/ shows that you should be able to edit topics once they have been loaded the first time by clicking in to the query text and then clicking the “Update this topic” button.We do not have either the “Save as new topic” button or the “Update this topic” button for some reason.  We can delete/change items and hit enter and the comments refresh as if they are searching for more comments but if we click away to another topic and then come back, the topic changes don’t save. Is there a reason for this or is it a bug? This is from an uploaded topic list from a JSON file.

Hi everyone! I need some help with this one. I got data from a survey in which participants rated 36 items presented in a random order (each one was created as a block).Now I would like to know if there is a way to download the data so that I only get the responses to the first X number of items that the participants viewed. I know there is an option called "Export viewing order data for randomized surveys", however this has not been useful for me, as I need to calculate a general index that expresses the mean of the first half of the items that each participant responded to.Thanks for reading! I am trying to use Qualtrics to get students to pick a time slot for an event. Next to the survey I have set up a workflow that takes the time they have chosen and creates a calendar invite from it. The problem is that Qualtrics doesn’t recognise the answer as a time and instead just sees the value of ‘1’, ‘2’, etc. I cannot seem to find anywhere how to make Qualtrics recognise the actual choice (e.g., 09:00) as a time. I looked into Flatpickr but because students should only get an overview of a few dates and a few times to choose from (at 3 or 15 min intervals), that seems impossible to do with this tool (although I might be missing something?) Thanks so much for any input you can give! Here’s an image of what I have the workflow looking like.
