Remove survey metadata

Simple question, hopefully it is not too rudimentary. In the data & analysis function, I want to know if there is a way to choose to remove the survey metadata fields prior to exporting a csv or xlsx report. It appears I can uncheck and check these fields but these columns always then are produced in the export, am i missing something obvious? Or should this be done in the Reports function? Thanks for the help.

Manage Surveys

Hello! The company where I where I work manages a great amount of surveys in one admin account. We are currently organizing the surveys trough folders, sub folders and sub - subfolders but we are trying to find the best way to organize and name our projects so that it is intuitive and easy to find at any level. Do you have experienced this and have some recommedations for me? Thank you! :)

Custom Email Confirmation

We are looking to use a survey for event registration, and would like the option to customize the email conformation after the survey/event responses have been received. I see where you can add HTML/CSS to the distribution email, but not sure if this is where we can customize a confirmation email. Can this be done? Thank you!

Using Piped Text to create multiple choices

Hi there, I'm trying to create a multiple choice question which is based on previous questions response(s). I have found the ChoiceGroup/SelectedChoicesTextEntry} option; however, it lumps all the previous responses together. Suppose the following scenario. Q1 . multiple choice question "which colors do you like" with a long list of options. The respondent chooses three options green, yellow, orange, I would like to create the following Q2. Regarding your choice of green, .... Q3, Regarding your choice of yellow,... Q4. Regarding your choice of orange,... Instead, I get, Regarding your choice of green yellow orange, Thanks for any help you can offer.

Can we restrict one link to one person.

I want to send our surveys to a specific list and I want the survey should be accessed by that link specific to the user/sent email. I do not want people to retake the survey for gift cards! Is there a way to send out surveys in such restricted format?

How do i "lock in" the "continue" button ?

Dear ladies and gentlemen, I have a Question concerning my Survey in qualtrics. In our study we want to achieve that participants have to wait for 6 minutes before they will be allowed to continue the Survey. Specifically, we would like the "continue button" not to work for 6 minutes. How is that possible? Many thanks in advance.

Why are my points displaying like this?

Hi, I recently looked at my profile and I noticed that my points aren't displaying properly. When I initially click on my profile, it shows that I have 72 points, but when I go to a sub-menu, like notifications, then it updates to 85. I think I have more than 72 points at this point. Survey starts in middle of page

Hi All, I am previewing a survey on mobile and when I get to the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc page of the survey - it does not automatically take me to the top of the survey page. It seems like it may be starting wherever the previous page was left of on? Any idea how I can fix this?

How to test condition that two embedded variables are equal?

If I have `embedded_var_a` and `embedded_var_b`, is there a way to display a question only if `embedded_var_a` == `embedded_var_b`? Or along the same lines, can I display a question only if the respondent's answers to `question_a` and `question_b` were the same?

Are the following features available in Survey Platform?

Hi there, I need to decide based on the following feature request to see if I will use Qualtrics Survey Platform to collect my data. Can you answer each question as given below? Thanks a lot! 1. I only want participants to work on the webpage rather than mobile phone. Is that possible to disable mobile phone version of the survey? 2. my answer type will be text entry, and more than one text entry is considered as correct answer. For example, the question is when did it happen, the answer is ok both 1990 or late 20 centuries. Does the survey allow multiple correct answers? 3. The subjects will have 14 days to work on the same survey. Because the survey needs over 10 hours to complete, so each subject are given 2 weeks to work on the survey. Is that possible? Whenever the subjects work on it, they can save the answers they have worked on, and continue to work on the unanswered questions the next day. 4. Can I track the progress of the subjects by knowing the absolute time when they

Best question type and settings to collect monetary data

I have an annual survey that collects monetary values that go into the millions. I use mostly Matrix Table - Constant Sum questions, along with some regular Constant Sum questions., to capture these data The problem I'm running into is that, since the fields do not accept or display the comma separators, respondents can easily enter an answer that has an extra (or missing) digit without realizing it. I can't set up valid ranges with custom validation for most of these questions because the ranges vary greatly; some respondents could have answers in the thousands while others are in the millions for the same question. Fellow Research Core users, do you have any suggestions to better validate these responses at the point of entry? Thank you in advance.

Best way of managing users for your company

Hello! The company where I work creates and run a great amount of surveys through a single admin account. There are 5 people working from this same account, creating surveys and dashboards all the time. The 5 of us need to know somehow about all the surveys running through Qualtrics. We are going to change the way we manage Qualtrics at the moment, from 1 admin account to having 1 account each one of us [plus the admin account]. We are analyzing which is the best way to manange Qualtrics for our team taking into account that we still need to know about what everybody else is doing and we need it to be secure and save. We have been thinking about having a "decentralized" way of managing it, where each one of us creates projects and then shares with the admin account, or a "centralized way" where all projects are created from the admin account and then, they are shared to all other users. I want to know if any of you have had this kind of issues and how you have worked them out 😀

Auto-Refresh after survey completion

Hi everyone! My university department uses a Qualtrics survey as a sign-in for visitors. After each person "signs in", someone has to refresh the page so it can be completed by the next person. Is there a way to custom program the survey to auto-refresh, say, 30 seconds after completion? I'm wondering if the same technology which allows certain websites to say "this page will auto-refresh in x seconds" could somehow be incorporated into our survey. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I am a newbie in every sense of the word.

Have different Likert labels for every statement for one survey question? (Matrix Table)

Please help! One question of my survey has about 25 statements, each with a Likert scale of 1-5 (using the Matrix Table). However, each statement will have different labels for the Likert scale. For example, question 1 would be: "I am usually... Bored (1) to Excited (5)" and question 2 would be "Life seems... Routine (1) to Exciting (5)" and so on. I understand I can have different Likert labels if I create another question within the Block, but I want them to all be a part of one question for analysis purposes. I understand there is an option to "Repeat header" but that repeats the exact same labels without the ability to edit the language. I hope this is comprehensive... Please help! I greatly appreciate it.

In Q1 I ask respondents to select items from a list. In Q2 I want to carry only these answers into a drop-down list in a matrix. For example Q1: Pick your top 3 fruits. Answers are apple, banana, and grapes. In Q2 I have a list of questions in a matrix table 1) Which fruit tastes the best 2) Which fruit smells the best 3) Which fruit do you buy the most? In the drop-down for each question, I want to carry the answers from Q1. Question. Dropdown carried from the previous question Which fruit tastes the best? Problem with multiple levels of branching

Hi! I have a problem with branch logic. As shown in the picture, respondents go from a 'Car Choice Block' to a '5 cents tax' block. There they are randomly asked between two Yes/No questions. As can be seen in the second picture, which only shows the first yes/no question, I then want to branch them out depending on their answer to the yes/no question, to a different block (Answered Yes / Answered No). However this is not working - selecting yes or no is sending me to the end of the survey rather than to the 'Answered Yes' or 'Answered No' block. Is there anything I am doing wrong here? ! !

How do I recode a hidden variable based on a previous question?

Hi, I would like to grab the respondent's answer to the 'Which province/territories do you currently reside in?' and recode a hidden 'region' variable based on their response (e.g. British Columbia and Alberta are coded as West and Nova Scotia and PEI are coded as Atlantic and so on) . Using a Retake Response Link for Multiple Survey Respondents within the Same Survey?

I have set up my survey to work like an application system. I have everything down perfectly except for one minor issue that I cannot figure out? Within this survey I can route it in my survey flow through a ?Q_R= retake response link, within email actions, to go from 1. Student 2. Approver One 3. Approver Two. 4. Everybody receives a final copy. I only wanted approvers 1 and 2 to see a summary of the student's responses, so I used embedded data (partially including an API from our banner system) to pull answers in so the approvers didn't have to go through all of the student's previous answers before getting to the approval question they have to answer. This all works great. I do, however, have a unique situation though where a few of the applications only have one approver instead of two, so I did another flow process where it would just go 1. Student 2. Approver 3. Everybody receives a final copy. Again, this works too, with one small exception. In my email action after the stud

Having multiple choice option within multiple choice

I All, I have a bit of complex requirements. We are surveying our org to know what tools the staff is using. I have different choices and like project management tools, Analytical tools, Presentation tools, etc etc. I would like to have a drop-down that shows different categories of tools and when staf memeber selects those categories, a drop-down appears showing tools present within those categories. Staff member can select more than one category and more than one tools. Your help would be appreciated :) .

Hi, At the beginning of our survey, we ask parents to type their babies' names. Is it possible to insert a baby's name automatically into some instructions and answer choices? Automated page break after given answer

Hello community, I would like to design a very basic survey, structured as follows: 1. page: question with option A and B 2. page: further information + additional question I would like to have a page break to navigate away from first question and only show second question. Page break is working. Now, my idea would be to answer the first question and automatically switch to second question (as soon as answered). Without any need to click on the next page button.
