So it is 1 question with a list of several (prepopulated) aspects that I wish respondents to score on an importance scale of 0-5 for them. I also want to provide the facility for them to add in 1 or 2 more aspects that are not already covered if they wish to add in new ones (with scores too). I want to capture their details (Name, Role, Company, email) on an optional basis.

Hi, I have a question about collecting data on survey respondents' movements in a survey. If a respondent returns to a previous page and changes answers, is there a way to record that movement in the resulting, captured data? Is there a way to program the survey such that we record a respondent's movement back and forth across survey pages? Best, Rui

Hi all, I have an issue displaying a chart that is drawn in javascript- it works on the first question block, but not in subsequent blocks & questions in preview mode, and via anonymous link. The charts display fine when the questions/ blocks are previewed in isolation within the editor. I've attached the qsf- does anybody have experience with this issue? Many thanks!

I am implementing a slider question with example ranges from (40000000 to 65000000). I would like it to snap to grid at 21 values (20 intervals). However, the labels are currently overlapping and I would like to format them with dollar sign and commas ($40,000,000 to $65,000,000). My thought was to: show the grid lines for all values but only display alternative numbers so that the overlapping problem is solved. Would anyone know how to do that as well as to implement the formatting code? Any other suggestions will also be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi, Is there any way to set minimum character requirements for the text entry boxes (which show up if you select allow for text entry) in multiple choice questions? the options are quite different from a regular textbox question.

I currently have a survey that has a back button disappear when it reaches the block that I have a math operation in. Based on Qualtrics support, it seems like I would need to add javascipt to add a back button in. Where and what would I put in to add a back button back into my survey for this block? Thank you!

Hi, I have a side-by-side table with 10 text entry boxes (in two columns of 5), and I have set default text for the first two rows. (These two rows serve as "examples".) I'd like to make those text entry boxes read-only, so that it looks like the other text entry boxes but they can't make changes to the text. I've found a few different sets of instructions on how to do this, but none seem to work. Does anyone know if there’s a way to change the basing of a question for how it appears in Vocalize? As an example, we have a ranking question where we asked employees to rank the top 3 reasons for visiting a site. In the past, when we would process the data offline and prepare a PowerPoint, we would base the results to those who answered the question. However, in Vocalize, it’s basing it to those who rank the benefit. So what’s happening is the reasons for visiting are skewed if on Vocalize. It’s showing that “learn about retirement programs” was ranked #1 100% of the time, but when I manually calculated it, it’s less than 1% of time it was ranked #1. Anyone know how to fix that? We are using the minimal blue theme and managed to change the default answer bubbles in the matrix question to bigger square shaped. At this point our client is requesting if we can now add labels on top of the squares (same as the answer column headers - so first column squares would all say "1" second column squares would all say "2" and so on... From what I can tell I may need to add in code on an "ID" level instead of a class level. Any help is appreciated. Hi, I am working on a survey that has two multiple choice questions. The first question is a single choice answer where respondents can select between 4 options (all different priced options). For the second question, it is a multi-choice where respondents can select as many services as they are interested with all prices. I am hoping to create a calculated field at the end of the survey to tell respondents the total price of the choices they selected. I was able to recode the first question and use piped text to show the price on that question. However, when it comes to the second question, it will not work because respondents can select multiple choices. Additionally, for two of the choices in the second question, I will need to multiply the recoded variable by the number of participants the service will serve (which is another question asked in the survey). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, I have four separate categories and I want to add custom drop down options to each of them. Originally I just had four separate questions, each with one drill down menu, however I'd like it to look cleaner. I made a matrix question with drop down options, however when I put in the drop down options, it adds it to the list for all four categories. I found an example survey of exactly what I want here. I'd appreciate any direction on how to do this! Thanks.

Hello! I have a date question with format of mm/dd/yyyy and we would like the slashes '/' to automatically populate. I've been unable to get this to work though. Any suggestions? This is what I've been trying to use to insert placeholder text + trying to apply the mask: jQuery("#"+this.questionId+" .InputText").attr("placeholder", "mm/dd/yyyy"); jQuery(function (jQuery) { jQuery("#"+this.questionId).mask("00/00/0000"); }); The placeholder is working fine but the mask does nothing. I've replaced the $ with jQuery by the way. I might have tunnel vision at this point and am completely missing whatever I'm doing wrong. All of this is going into the addOnReady section by the way.

Hi, I hope this is the right section for asking this. I am using Qualtrics for a research that I have been conducting for my thesis, but I really don't know how to start. I have to create a survey where the participants are randomly directed to one of three conditions (one control, two experimental) and in each condition the participant should receive randomly two statements from two different pools (that to be honest I don't know how to create). I have already divided all the statements I need, 40 for each condition (20-20 control/20-20 experimental/20-20 experimental). How can I be sure that once the participant is assigned to one the conditions he will receive randomly and non consequentially the two statements from the two different pools? I hope it's clear for someone what I am trying to say! 😃 Thank you in advance

In a MC item, I would like to add space between options but only between the second last and last option ("Don't Know" option). (I know, Qualtrics recommends to refrain from a the Don't Know option but in this case I have no choice.) This is to highlight that the number of "real" choices is even on the scale. Hi all, currently attempting to have an alert pop up on screen upon selection of a particular answer for a singlecode question, before the question passes and moves on (still recording the response they selected that caused the pop up to appear - this pop up will basically just be a warning message). Ideally would be based on recode value so can just copy across the JS for future questions and swap out recode. So currently i've got the below, but this simply produces the error alert regardless of what option is selected. As a complete JS rookie, I have been unable to get past this! I created a questionnaire, and I sent it to a few people to test out for me (I sent them a published questionnaire not a preview). Now I want to delete the answers I have currently gathered so when I publish the questionnaire, the new answers are not mixed up with the test people.

I would like to ask respondents to indicate their level of awareness of various items in one question and then have only those items selected as somewhat or very aware carried forward into a following questions about frequency of use.

I have a survey with prize incentives so interested respondents will give us their name and email to enter the draw. Due to privacy policy, I need to collect this personal information in a way that it doesn't link to their survey responses. I'm trying to create a question where if they answer "Yes" to either of two questions ("Do you want a newsletter" and "Do you want to enter the draw") they will be taken to a separate survey I've created to input their personal information. Any ideas how I can do this? I'm trying to avoid having a text question with a link they click, if that's possible.

I would like to use the graphic slider to let participants choose an option from 0-10 on a graphic slider with bars. However, the current options only run up from 1 to 9. Is there any way to customize this? Thanks!

I have a shared directory which I place weekly lists into and create a sample (which appears as 2 files are in directory). Another user deploys the survey using a list from the shared directory. The interface for this shared user makes finding the newest file difficult. Basically, I want to only have the latest files available for selection in the shared directory. I've tried creating a new folder and dragging the files (there isn't a move option in file menu despite me creating them), but the original still appears in shared directory. I don't want to lose my contact list history or surveys in any way. Any ideas? Do I need to change the workflow somehow?

My survey asks respondents to rate their opinion on a Likert scale, 1-11. I would like to give respondents to option of "Don't Know" or "Refuse" within that question, below the Likert scale, rather than adding another 2 scale points for these options. I am required to have an 11 point scale, which can get tough to read on tablets if it's 13 points including the "Don't Know" or "Refuse." Thank you.

Hey Community! I am trying to implement a choice based conjoint survey in qualtrics and I need your help. I have 4 different pictures and I want to pair them and show each combination (6 in total) to all the survey participants. Then the participants need to take preferences, so they have to click on the picture they like more compared to the other picture. Further this setting needs to be complete randomized. Now I ask my self It is even possible to click on a picture to take a choice? And is it possible to ad more then 1 picture to a block at a time? I hope you can help me kind regards yaaayannu
