When you add an owner of a task, will the person / owner receive an e-mail?

Is it possible to assign an embedded data field to a value that is determined by a respondent's responses but is available in an (external) Excel file? For example: The respondent answers a question asking for their zip code (a text entry question). I have an Excel file that links each zip code with the latitude and longitude of the "center" of the zip code. I would like to define two embedded variables, one for the latitude and one for the longitude that corresponds to the zip code given by the respondent. There are solutions that use branching or drill down variables, but so far these would involve too much work (one branch for every zip code in the US for example), or would require the user to select the lat and lon after picking their zip code. Kind of awkward to have the respondent see the lat and lon at all. Would like this process to happen behind the scenes. Thanks.

When respondent's select a school from a long drop down list, or in a drill down (state, city, school), I need to be able to link that school (name) to the school id. I don't want the respondent to see the school id -- they only select the school name. But when I download the data, I would like to have a variable for the school name AND a variable that shows the corresponding school id. The number of schools and ids could be as high as 30,000. Not sure if this is baked in somewhere or not. Can't seem to find anything for this situation. Thanks.

I have many questions and some need to display at different times. I have created blocks of questions and I was hoping to add display logic to the block rather than having to add it to each individual question in the block.

Hi All, I have a contact list with several extra columns named "age", "school", and "occupation". I want to email the contact list and refer to the individual information in these extra columns. However, when I use embedded data in the message body, the email didn't show the referred information in those columns. Is there a way to achieve my goal? Below is what I've tried: Dear Worker, Your age is ${m://age}, your school is ${m://school}, and your occupation is ${m://occupation}. Also, can I send email to the list by filtering based on one or two columns in the contact list? For instance, I want to send a certain message to those with age > 16 years old and who are still students using the "age" and "occupation" columns in the contact list. Is this possible? I have 15 blocks of questions which I have randomized so each respondent gets one block. I only need 3 responses for each block, so I need a way to leave blocks out of my flow when they get three respondents each. I can't find a way to include counts as conditions... any help will be much appreciated!

I am trying to set up a survey where my participants begin and end in Qualtrics, but redirect to Sawtooth in the middle of the survey to complete a max diff exercise. I understand how to pass information such as ResponseID from Qualtrics to Sawtooth and then back to Qualtrics within the link URL, but I am having an issue with getting Qualtrics to recognize my participant as the same participant. Does anyone know what data I would need to send from Sawtooth back to Qualtrics within the URL to get Qualtrics to recognize that the same participant is re-entering the survey to complete the remainder of the task?

Hello, I had to add some questions at the last minute before rushing a survey out, and didn't have time to edit question names or labels. 1. Can I change those two things while the survey is still open without losing data? 2. If not, can I do it once the survey is closed with no repercussions?

Hello! For my masters thesis, I would like to give respondents a feedback signal based on how well they scored on a quiz. I would like to display a different signal for those who scored above a certain threshold but I've been unable to figure how to do this. To clarify a little: Respondents will be asked to answer 10 multiple choice questions. For each question only one of the answers is right and if they select that answer they get a score of 1. After the quiz they are asked to indicate how likely they think it is they scored in the top 25% of quiztakers. After this I want to show them a signal that shows them (with a level of uncertainty) whether or not they actually scored in the top 25%. They are asked to give their belief again and are presented with the same noisy signal again. This will be repeated a few times and afterwards the experiment is over. It is important that there is a difference in signals between those who actually placed in the top 25% and those who didn't. Ther

We use surveys to collect information from required from our survey base. Some times, though rarely, they will not have enough information to answer a question, so no forced answers are used. As an alternative to coding in a 'does not apply' or 'unknown' to every question, it would be nice if Qualtrics computed a % response for each 'complete' survey. It would also be great to be able to disambiguate conditional question-skips from voluntary no answer-given skips (both show up as -99 in the exported data).

I have a matrix with three columns and 30 rows. The report is showing all the responses for the first cell of the first row, then all the responses for the second cell of the first row.... and so on. I want to see the whole first row, then the whole second row, etc. Also, I want to remove anonymity, but that doesn't seem to work unless you have a specific link for everyone individually.

Hi- we sent personal links to survey respondents. It was decided that we should extend our original survey deadline, so there are now people with nearly complete surveys that expire tomorrow and I'd like to not have them expire tomorrow. Is there a way to do this?

Dear all, I am very new to Qualitrics and conducting a survey that investigates some aspects of a website. In total, every respondent needs to visit 5 different websites (out of a pool of 70 websites) and then answer the same matrix question for each one. I'm a bit confused about how to make sure that every respondent receives 5 different links and that all 70 websites are somewhat evenly visited. So far, I have created 5 different matrix question blocks, but I am unable to use the Randomizer properly. I have distributed the 70 websites to the 5 question blocks (so 14 website links each). In theory, I'd like the randomizer to choose 1 out of the 14. But practically I am not able to attribute one randomizer to each of the 5 questions. Dear Qualtrics Community, In our research, we are performing 22 separate assessments and so far we had 72 responses for each of them. We would like to add ID numbers to each assessment but, when we tried to edit, the Qualtrics gives a warning which states "Editing could invalidate the results!". I wonder, how will adding a new question affect our previously collected data? If it will not affect, could we also reassign already recorded data for the new feature "ID"? Hi, We use Salesforce as CRM in which contacts have different Account ID's but use the same email address. Is there a way to make sure that only 1 survey is sent out to this email address even if the 3 account ID's are known in the Contacts section ? And how can we make sure that we capture the feedback on the correct Account ID ?

Hey! I am working on the query using Qualtrics API 2.5, which would add contact to contact list. I struggling with adding custom embedded data to the query. I have added manually this embedded data to list, and now i would like to know what is the query syntax to put the value into it. It is pretty simple for existing embedded data like FIrstName and LastName. My query looks like this ( pls don't focus on the focus on the beginning, it's just a concept.) In the below concept i would like to put specific value (SV_XXXXXX) to embedded data named SV. How it should be written? www.XXXXXXXXX&FirstName=Piotr&LastName=Siudak&SV=SV_XXXXXX

We have some imbedded images in our invitation letter (School logo, director's signature) that are not displaying I believe because of the security associated with the school's email accounts. Is there any kind of work around for this? They display fine in hotmail, gmail, yahoo etc. Thanks so much for your assistance. Kristen

So the bummer of Ticket Reporting is that you don't have the option to recode values like you do in the Dashboard reporting. Has anyone found a workaround to this? For example I had one team absorb into a new team. We want to display the data from the previous team in the new teams counts. How do you mesh the two together for Dashboard purposes?

I want to allow the respondents to download or print the survey before they fill out their responses. This is primarily because they will need to collect data from different sources to fill the survey and having a copy of the full survey will allow them to plan ahead. Is this possible in Qualtrics?

Hi all, I am using qualtrics for my masther thesis. I was wondering if someone could help me with one thing. In my survey I have two conditions (consisted of two manipulated photographs), participants have to write little texts about the photograph and situation. The thing is, participant should see the photograph while writhing the texts, BUT the questions with text entry (wherein they write) can only be programmed once. Otherwise it will appear strange in my dataset. Thus: 1 block of questions, and only the photograph should differ consisted of which condition the participant is (randomly) assigned to. Is this even possible? If yes, how can I do this? Thank you in advance!

I would like to have respondents randomly answer one of several questionblock, for a between-subject research design. I was wondering if its possible to have respondents answer one block, chosen at random, instead of having every respondent answer all blocks. There are some blocks that everyone needs to answer, but others I would like to separate.
