Using Authenticator to set embedded data

Hi there, using an authenticator block at the beginning of a flow, is it possible to set embedded data on a successful authentication? Specifically, the directory contact record would contain address and other data points that I would like to include in subsequent questions. Thanks!

Add and Subtraction

Hello everyone, I want to add two embedded data. One of the embedded data is a fixed number and the other is the addition of the income from the tasks. I can see the mathematical addition result in the console, but not on the qualtrics page. I did not understand why it’s happening. Could someone please help me with that? Thank you in advance. Best.

Import Individual Respondents Details into Survey Report

We have recently distributed a survey, and I’m working on a report, which requires a list of the respondents names, their embedded data (like email, address, etc.), and their responses for certain questions, which can be piped into the report. I don’t want a list of all the respondents, rather, I want to be able to create multiple lists, each with individual contact fields and responses. For example, in the first section of the report, I want to display all the respondents located in one state, along with (individually) their embedded data, and their responses to some specific questions. In the next section, it would be a different state. I can’t find any obvious functionality for this in Qualtrics. I can filter metrics by state, but I need to show all respondents details and their responses (particularly, their text responses to some questions), based on their state (embedded data). Would I need to somehow bucket all the respondents details into a new data field using the ‘Stats iQ’ s

Changing Distribution Email to Show Date When Survey Expires

Hi everyone, We had our surveys built by an outside firm and they had configured our email invitations to include a blurb about when the survey will expire. We have since changed the link expiry from 7 days to 14 days. This may be a silly question, but would all we have to do is change +7 to +14 in the piped text formula “${date://OtherDate/FL/+7%20day?locale=EN}” for the date to populate properly? We are pretty new to this program and just want to ensure we are doing this properly.

Check participant's metadata based conditions before going live

Hi everyone, I’m relatively new to the EX platform. I’ve programmed questions in the survey based on participants' metadata (e.g., Country). For instance, some questions are shown to participants from certain countries, while others are not. The default preview survey link doesn’t provide an option to verify this behavior based on metadata. How can I check if my display logic is working correctly before the survey goes live?

How do you access localStorage values as embedded data? They always return null.

I have a Website/App Insights with a Feedback button Intercept/Creative. Under Embedded Data I have Use Value from Javascript with the following value: window.localStorage.getItem("1") This line works when I run it in the browser console. However, this is reported as null in the Results of the Survey. Is this a scope issue, or is there another way to get Local Storage as Embedded Data?

Carry Forward responses into question and not into choices

I want to format a question like the example below and have only the options that were selected in the previous question to show up. I know I could set it up so each table has one of the choices as piped text and then do display logic, but I don’t want to have gaps in the table where a choice should be that wasn’t selected. I would like to put all the options that were selected in the previous question into the table into their own cells, or at minimum put each choice that was selected into it’s own line below the main question.

Broken images!

Hello, I am working on this custom html question, the images display fine in my preview but like broken images on the survey preview (adding in a screenshot). Does anyone know why this may be the case? Javascript syntax to loop picking up values from previous question

I’m trying to loop through various variables from a previous side by side question to include as values in a matrix question. I’m using the code below. The commented out line works when there is just one value to include, but doesn’t work when I try and add loop using “/ + i + “. Is there syntax that does work/ another way of doing this? n.b. Automating Qualtrics Survey Creation Using R statistical software

In Qualtrics I have a general survey template that I use to make hundreds of surveys. These surveys are almost identical with the only difference between them being certain words on the surveys vary between surveys (e.g., client name, various brand names, etc.). The questions and structure of the survey remain the same. Currently I have to duplicate a survey and the search and replace brand names, and repeat. I am most familiar coding in R and would love if possible to find a way I can automatically create these surveys in R using a package like httr2. My general thought is load in .qsf file of template into r. Make relevant changes to the qsf file for any number of surveys, and then have those surveys automatically created in my Qualtrics account. Has anyone done something like this and can give guidance on the workflow?

Hiding "Powered by Qualtrics"

Is there a way to hide the "Powered by Qualtrics" element at the bottom right of the page? I've tried a bunch of different combinations of custom CSS and nothing seems to be able to override the !important modifier for that element.

I just noticed while using community over phone that ask question button is hidden by the chat button. Are others also seeing same problem? ​@AlonsoC is it a known issue or is only on my Android?

Display question based on number of answer choices

Hello, I want to display a question only if there are a certain number of answer choices displayed in that same question. The answer choices are carried forward from multiple previous matrices. The matrices have five scale points, and only statements selected with the highest scale point are carried forward to that question. I only see display logic for selected count, but not for displayed count. Would anyone be able to help me with this?

Embedded data - view, edit, copy

Hello, I have a survey that has 30+ embedded data rows. I am defining each of these data points in an intercept that has 4 creatives defined as 4 action sets. Each creative is using the same values. (Yes, I found out that I can copy an action set and the copy will carry the embedded data definitions.) When it comes to viewing the embedded data values, it is very difficult because the width f the boxes that the Qualtrics UI offers is too small - I cannot see the complete values. All this manual and visual checking is extremely slow and error-prone. I cannot even make a screenshot and grab the text because the full values are not visible. Editing is as cumnersome as the viewing. I am looking for a more efficient way of viewing, entering and editing the embedded data instead of using the form provided by the graphical UI. Any export to Excel and import back? Maybe a text editor?

Tracking Time Spent on Randomized Blocks and Questions within a Block

Hi everyone, I have a survey design with approximately 20 sets of blocks, and I have two questions regarding randomization and timing: 1. Tracking Time Spent on Randomized Blocks In my survey flow, I’ve grouped certain subsets of blocks under a Randomizer to shuffle their presentation. I’d like to track the time each respondent spends on each randomized block individually, regardless of the order in which they appear. I know that Q_TotalDuration can track the total time spent on a block when it’s shown in a fixed order. However, I’m unsure if it’s possible to accurately track time spent on each block when the blocks are randomized. Is there a way to capture block-level timing data for each randomized block? Ideally, I’m looking for a solution that would give me a separate timing metric for each block, even though the blocks are presented in a random order. 2. Workflow Audit across multiple surveys

Hi - I’m hoping someone can help… I’m new in my role and oversee the entire Qualtrics program at my company. I’ve gone through and done a complete audit of the customer facing survey questions and all of the embedded data across all of our surveys. But what I’m beginning to see is that there’s an inconsistency with workflows that are triggered by survey completion, NPS group, etc. For example, some survey completions trigger a thank you email, others don’t. Some trigger a follow up email when an open field under detractor is completed, other surveys don’t. My question… is there a way to press a magic button, that allows me to extract all of the surveys that have workflows? And then, to see what the messages say and to whom they go? Rank order drag and drop horizontally aligned

Hi! I have seen this question asked multiple times on this forum, but I could not find a definitive answer. I would like to have the rank order question in the drag and drop modality, where the items are displayed horizontally. I know this problem needs some custom code, which I cannot seem to figure out (even with chatGPT). Create a New Response API and Embedded Data

I want to call the Create a New Response API to create survey responses from my application (https://api.qualtrics.com/f1cad92018d2b-create-a-new-response). I don’t see a way to add embedded data to that request. Is there a way to create add embedded data with a survey response creation request, or am I required to send a subsequent Update Response request (https://api.qualtrics.com/daed82306b1ea-update-response)?

How to record the link through which respondents enter survey?

I'm running a survey and I'm looking to record or save the link/URL through which respondents enter using embedded data. I checked here but when I try adding embedded data in the survey flow, I can't find the options (current page URL, time spent on site, total visited page count) that seem to be available for actions.

How to customize survey flow to end the survey for ineligible participants with different end of survey messages

I am editing the survey flow currently to create an embedded data variable for eligible/ineligible participants. At the end of the flow, I have those who meet ineligible criteria (0) show a separate end of survey message (pictured). I, however, want participants to advance to the end of survey message as soon as a criteria of ineligibility is met in the survey flow. Any suggestions?
