Pre-populating answers from previous Quarter Survey

I am working on migrating to Qualtrics from our current Excel based survey to rank our banking partner in different regions. We take this Survey every Quarter with personal link for each user (Approximately 50 users, 14 questions and 5 regions). One of the ask is to have new survey pre-populated with answers from last Quarter for each user so they can go through the survey , can see their answers from last Quarter and only have to update/change their ranking if needed and complete the survey. I need to capture this Quarterly data so I can do some trend analysis including Quarter over Quarter changes etc. What is the best way to do this in Quadratics. I looked at Retake Survey Link (https://www.qualtrics.com/support/survey-platform/data-and-analysis-module/retake-survey-link/) but was not sure if that is the right way to do it or if there is better way to do it. It is important that I capture the data set as new data set for each Quarter. I appreciate any help in this regard.

Multi-layered quotas?

I am building a survey that registers participants to an event. There two questions:Q1. The participant selects a date.Q2. The participant selects one of two roles: role A or role B, each with a limit of 3 participants.Is there a way to pass forward the quota counts for each role, based on the date selected? If for example for April 1, all the role As have been taken, it shouldn’t be shown. And, if all 6 roles for April 1 have been taken, April 1 should not show up as an option in Q1. It’s the display logic in Q2 where I’m having an issue. How can I have quotas for Q2 be contingent on the Q1 selection. I hope this makes sense. Thanks for your assistance.

Extracting the value entered into a form field

Hello!  I am hoping for some help in extracting the value of a form field using Javascript.  I need to know the actual values entered into the fields of a form question, so that I can do some math using them.  I’ve tried the following for the first field in the form:        var apples = jQuery("#"+this.questionId+'.InputText').eq(0).val();            or               jQuery("#"+this.questionId+" input[type=text]").eq(0).val();            or               jQuery("#"+this.questionId+".InputText:first").val();            or              $("QR~"+this.questionId+"~1");  And then to see what I got I use this:       alert(apples); The alert box always shows null with all the variations above.  What am I doing wrong?

Likert scale answer boxes don't appear clickable

We’re using a Qualtrics survey for our program registration form, and for some reason, the boxes for particular programs aren’t “clicking.” So, in other words, folks will click on one, but nothing shows up in the box to indicate as much. An outline around the box does appear (like the first one below), but nothing else: When I look at the response, I can see what they did click, but that just doesn’t show up to the person registering, so it’s obviously creating some confusion. Any idea what might be happening or how to fix it? I’m utterly baffled, so any insight you might have would be much appreciated!

I have collected around 800 responses. Now there is some code is not sequential, I want to recode them. Mostly for multiple choice and matrix. Is it possible to recode without hurting data?

Deleting Contacts & Anonymize Corresponding Responses

We have some requirement which we are currently challenging: A contact should be deleted completelyThe responses of the deleted contact should not be deleted but only anonymizedIf possible we would like to define which contact data should be anonymized on the response and which data should be kept (e.g. keep information about the contact's city, however, delete/anonymize everything else like contact ID or name)At the end we will need to implement this with the corresponding API calls. However, in order to check that requirement, I tried to test this up on the Qualtrics UI. Therefore, I created a new contact and sent a survey to this contact. I myself finished the survey then in order to have some response data for that contact. Next, I deleted the contact from the XM directory:The information said that "survey responses ... will not be deleted but the response will no longer be associated with the contact". However, after deleting this contact, I had a look at the responses again (via

Restrict user to resubmit the survey based on an embedded data value

We are using Salesforce. We are able to get the surveys via email. From email the user launches the Qualtrics survey and on submission it creates a record in Salesforce. We are using same survey for all the Cases. We therefore want to restrict the user not to resubmit the same survey for the same case again. Survey->Security->Prevent Multiple Submission: this option won’t work as it restricts the survey for other cases as well. We have the SF Case ID as an embedded data. Is there a way to check if the particular Case Id already has the survey submitted? So that we can conditionally show the survey.

Updating Database Response using Qualtrics API

Hi!I have two different situation for which I´d need to use API to fix.Situation 1: Update a response database spliting Response Date column into Day, Month and Year. Situation 2: Just update response matadata.To both of them, I was planning to use this API, which is something I´m used to use. However it is depreceated. So I am trying to calculate a percentile and t score for two separate categories within one question. This is the code I have. How to add a JavaScript code to my workflow?

Hello everyone,I am looking for help to make this task code work in my workflow. Essentially, I would like to convert one of the embedded field (ARR) to a number format. As of now, the value that comes from this field in SFDC is getting displayed as a plain number (no decimals or thousands 111,222). This is the code I built, but when adding to the slack notification, I dont get any result. Importing fields from spreadsheet into survey

Hello, I’m hoping someone can give me a definitive answer on whether this is possible:I’m looking for Qualtrics to populate at least 4 columns of data from a spreadsheet, based on text entered from the user. The spreadsheet would be “live” constantly updated with new info but the same 4 columns would be intact. I’m ok too if I need to upload a new spreadsheet each week but would love if it can pull in from somewhere like Box or Google Docs. For example:Qualtrics asks the user, “Enter SKU”End user enters a SKU which matches a field on the spreadsheetQualtrics then populates in a field, “This is a FRUIT belonging to JOHN DOE at STORE 10 in FLORIDA” (items in caps are generated from the spreadsheet)Qualtrics would then continue as usual with survey questions but the data above is captured and included in the survey results. Any help would be incredibly appreciated,Paul

Use URL Parameter to Find Dictionary Value Then Replace HTML Element on Page Load

We are going to be sending out surveys after a facilities project is complete. We want the question to lead the project’s name on the first page of the survey. We want to use a single survey instead of separate ones for ease of use. I planned to use a URL parameter [Key Value pair] with short form project names. Use these short form names as a key in a dictionary to retrieve the full name. Then to replace an HTML element with the corresponding dictionary value and display it.I want to do this all on the first Text/Graphic screen to load and not the 2nd or 3rd question page.I have done something similar using a listener event to change text in an HTML on multi-choice option selection, but this instance isn’t working.In the survey URL there will be a key value pair that is tied to an embedded data field called “p_id”. E.G. qualtrics.com/jfe/form/abcdefg?p_id=foobar1I have a dictionary of values like this:var choiceTextMap = {    'foobar1': 'Value 1',    'foobar2': 'Value 2',    'foobar3'

How to add a drop down list next to a free text entry?

Hello,I would appreciate anyone's help with this. I want to add a drop down list next to a free text entry answer. To give more context, I want the responders to type in a numerical value in either "mmol/l" or "mg/dl" (of their choosing in the drop down list. Responders will use different units depending on their geographical location). Would this be possible on the survey? Thanks in advance.

Custom CSS code to remove language options in Simple Layout

Good morning, I am trying to remove the language dropdown box on one of my surveys.  The CSS code that used to work for this with the classic layout does not work under the simple layout.  Would anyone know how to get this to work under the simple layout?  Thanks in advance!

Restart current loop based on conditional logic

Is there any way (with js or other) to send someone back a page in the current loop of a multi-page loop and merge block based on logic in another page in the block?Loop and merge block setup:Display 20 loops in random order based on question from previous block. Back button is disabled. Page 1: Video player and timing question. JavaScript on video question hides continue button until player status is ‘ended’ but a loophole exists if someone presses play on video and then drags the scrubber to the end. Page 2 - Conditional: Single text/graphic question, page is only displayed if the page 1 timing question page submit is less than 20 seconds (the video duration). Warns them not to fast-forward through videos and that they can’t answer the questions unless they play the whole video. Skips to end of block to push them to page 1 of the next randomized loop. Show Growth on a Dashboard

We are using the survey platform to enter team scores based on a rubric. Teams can score from 1-4 according to the rubric. Scores are entered three times throughout the academic year- BOY, MOY, and EOY. On the dashboard, I would like to show a count of the number of teams who demonstrated growth (an improved score) from BOY to MOY. Basically like a COUNTIF function in excel. COUNTIF MOY-BOY is >= 1. Looking for suggestions on how to translate this to a dashboard widget! Thanks for your suggestions!

How to get what email got bounced via API?

Hi Community,I’m curently using Get Directory Contact History api.qualtrics.com/f30cf65c90b7a-get-directory-contact-history to get Email status of a specific Distribution. However, the API is running supper slow and it’s slowing down the whole process.Is there any other way to get all the Email that Bounce, Block, Error of a Distribution (Not how many failed email but what email failed)?If I still have to use Get Directory Contact History, how can I speed this up?Thank you!

OptOut link for opting out of entire directory?

Greetings all, so we use a Survey to "register" our participants. So the actual "survey results" are never looked at--the answers to the survey questions are injected into our iQ Directory as embedded data fields. We then filter on these embedded data fields to create samples to survey. So, we recently updated our registration survey and I am getting ready to email the people we currently have in our directory a "please update your registration information" type email which will be an invite to the new registration survey (which again will just inject embedded data into iQ Directory). The issue is that my OptOut link in the bottom of this email invite I'm sending has this code: ${l://OptOutLink?d=here}. If a person clicks this they are taken to the Qualtrics page which allows them to click a link to unsubscribe from that panel. There is a second link that allows them to be removed from ALL panels. When I tested this and clicked the first link, it does *not* opt me out in the Directory

Remove or truncate unnecessary parameters in unique survey URLS?

so I'm looking at adding query strings to unique survey URLs, and some of our invites go out via SMS, so character limits are a thing.I have an employee engagement survey set up, and the unique links that are generated include all of these fields:Q_TS_RE_PID Three sixty Evaluator IDQ_TS_ID Three sixty IDQ_TS_PID Three sixty Person IDQ_TS_RS Three sixty RelationshipThis isn't a 360, so the PID & RE_PID are identical, and the relationship = "Self"The reason I ask is I'm trying to use an URL shortener, and it works if I just shorten the survey URL prior to the last "/", and then I can append the rest of the full URL (so I don't have to generate a unique URL for each link). However that isn't very efficient, because it only saves me 21 characters, as I have all this other stuff that appears after that in the URL.It seems like I only need one of those 4 fields specified in the URL, but it doesn't work if I remove any of them.TIA.

Designing a question that allows me to capture video recorded data

I am designing a test that requires students to produce an oral response that I would like to capture. Is there any way of doing this within qualtrics? If not, I know I can add a link to an external program? Any suggestions for good capturing programs?

How do you send 2 or more reminder emails for an automated (SFDC) survey?

Currently the Salesforce trigger and email survey options only let you automatically send 1 reminder email, so I'm having to go into my distributions each week and manually schedule the second reminder email. Is there a better way to handle? Seems to me a pretty essential feature, though some might say I'm sending too many reminder emails. (But I've proven they get me many more responses; without them for certain surveys I would never get to what my stakeholders consider an acceptable RR percentage.)
