XM Directory

A while back I launched a survey with data that was accidentally set to private. This seems to mean that the embedded data does not appear for the Results or Data & Analysis tabs. Does anyone know how to retroactively remove private mode for a data list or to filter with embedded data from a private list? Thank you

Long ago, I remember using contact list triggers to send a survey to only new contacts on a mailing list when they are added.  Now that triggers have been replaced by workflows, I cannot figure out how to get the survey to distribute only to the contacts I’ve just added to the list, rather than the whole list. I’m using the Experience id change to initiate the workflow when a new contact is added to a mailing list and the send survey via email task.  Would the answer be to create segments on the list?  Also I realize that I could just create separate distributions for each of these, but I would rather have a single list. I’ve attached a screenshot.

Hello, I’m curious if anyone has experience with bringing in identifiers to the XM Directory that are not 1:1 with an individual.  I want to bring in “user id” as a field, but in our system it can be possible for an individual to have multiple user ids.  I don’t want to create multiple records for individuals - has anyone encountered or solved for this type of situation. Hello, Thanks in advance for any help.  My problem statement is that the embedded data user identifier from one of my surveys is not the unique id that I use in my XM Directory.  I’m trying to use a Secondary Data Source to map those identifiers, and then have that mapping take place when survey responses are received.I was able to use the Lookup task to map those columns.  My question is: do I need to create a new task to set the proper identifier as a new Embedded Data element? If so, which task should I use? Thanks so much!

Hi All,Just testing out the data privacy request process where it prepares a compressed .gz file that you have to download, then extract (using 7zip) and then you get the json file.The problem is what to do with the JSON file as it's a specific structure / schema that I can't work out. Can anyone help?I've got as far as trying to use Power Query in excel to convert it but I'm stuck at the point of drilling down / expanding the records into tables. The responses are for one person but across multiple surveys and so merging them into one columns won't work.To be honest I'm not that interested in the response but I'm more interested in just seeing at top level what surveys the person was found in but I guess it's all or nothing.Hope someone can help on this. I need to automate my email distribution using an email workflow, based on an embedded data field. While scheduling a specific time-based event, I'm only seeing the option to add a Task - the condition/decision option isn't appearing. Could someone please guide me on how to implement this.

 Hi there, I have created embedded variables, all mapped correctly and I can pull from these using pipped text so I know the embedded variables are working. Embedded data in the workflowFor some reason when I am trying to import embedded data into the XM Directory workflow, only one variable (“postal 2”) is showing up and the rest are only available under “transactional data” (e.g., “emaile”; ps. We are looking to broaden the use of Qualtrics from our small team to the rest of our organization and I am trying to putting together protocols and best practices to share with new users. Since the XM directory has limited permissions right now, I'm concerned the directory will get out of hand quickly (e.g. number of embedded data fields). Does anyone have any protocols/guidance that you have created for your organization that you'd be willing to share? Or tips and lessons learned from having multiple people utilizing the same directory for different work? We have created multiple directories already, but with the nature our work, teams will need to share directories.

Please helpI have several different lists currently, and am needing to find a way to automatically notify and export contacts who have unsubscribed from any list. Our legal team have mandated that we must unsubscribe these people so I need a way to get them out, that doesn't involve me manually jumping in running a filter in each list and exporting.

We are needing to have the ExternalDataReference exported for anyone who unsubscribes from a list or directory, ideally via SFTP export. Current functionality allows this for survey responses but not for unsubscribes. Any possible solutions here?

We are adding embedded data fields in our digital intercept with success.There is a data type called XM Directory Contact Data and every support article I can find must be old because this option is skipped in every one.Can someone tell me what this is and how to use it?

Hello! I have an XM contact directory with several embedded data fields. I am trying to pull them in as embedded into a web intercept survey response.  We have followed all the steps here: https://www.qualtrics.com/support/website-app-feedback/common-use-cases/xm-directory-integration-with-digital-intercepts/ When we look at our pages source, we can see the visitors are being identified properly with our internal customer number.  That number matches the External data reference field in the XM directory. We can’t figure out the next step. The support article says it will happen “automatically” but it isn’t. We can see our customer number as embedded data since we set it in the intercept and as an embedded data field in the survey. Hi All, I am trying to assign unique IDs for participants filling out my survey. I am storing first name, last name, last name, email and phone number to an XM Directory Lite Contact List. I want Qualtrics to search this list before assigning IDs to participants.  Basically, If someone fills out the survey and reports an email that already exists on the XM contact list (i.e., they are trying to fill out the survey again), they will be assigned a value of -55. If someone fills out the survey and reports an email that doesn’t exist on the contact list (i.e, they have NOT filled out the survey already), they will be assigned a new unique ID. I have asked the Qualtrics AI, but nothing seems to be working. Please see the image for what I have tried.Where “emaile” = email that the participant reported in the survey Where “Email” is the embedded email from the XM Directory Contact List.

Hi, Like the title suggests, we use Qualtrics to collect client demographics. Currently we have no way for clients to quickly sign in if they are a member. I’m trying to streamline their arrival by designing a “self sign-in” survey where they are prompted to add their membership code and then their demographics are automatically fill the rest of the survey questions. I’ve gotten as far as creating a contact list and using an authenticator in the survey flow but it is problematic when I try put the pipe text into the answer field. Right now it will only accept it into the question line. When I go through the survey as a test, the answer will be in the question line rather than the answer box. Help! 

Hi Community!Today I discovered that the JSON payload trigger functionality in Qualtrics is going to be deprecated. This means Qualtrics is phasing out this feature, and I will need to transition to alternative methods for triggering surveys and integrating with external systems. Which functionality do you recommend or find similar to the one I was using, where I created XMD contact and distributed surveys after receiving a JSON payload through a single API call?current distribution tree in a stand-alone workflowI need to replace the first step, as the message in that step is unclear and does not provide any guidance on what to do.Your guidance and help is much appreciated.  

There seems to be a huge flaw in the functionality of the respondent funnel as there is no way to correct inaccurate data if there was mistake on the initial distribution data. This is means we have no way to create accurate dashboards that involve distribution data. I’m hoping someone can help as we use the response funnel data to create response rates which are very important to many our of survey clients. We accidentally left out an embedded data field in one of our contact upload and so it was missing from the distribution data when we did the send. Now we have no way of correcting is because Qualtrics says all distribution data is point in time and can’t be changed. But if the data exist in the back end of the platform in the respondent funnel data table then there has to be way to edit it. Has anyone had this issue and found any way to correct this?

Hi, I am curious if most companies are sending all their customer profiles to XM Directory on a daily basis? Our business users want to be able to self serve and select different customers with different products for their surveys. We have a VERY large customer base sending it daily may not be feasible. Wanted to understand what other large companies are doing with their XM Directory.

Hi, I have an intercept from our desktop webapp that is working perfectly in the sense that it is pop-over correctly or show the survey with the right language correctly. Meaning, it is working well for identifying the audience and pop the required creative. However, it doesn’t create the contacts in the directory it is attached to. Hello, We are approaching our seat limit with our contract, and want to remove some employees who are no longer with the company to free up some of our seats. I am hesitant to move forward with this because it says ALL data connected with user will be lost. Does that include previous survey responses? I am under the impression that it is any surveys that they may have owned but am looking more specifically about data loss. Any clarity would be appreciated!
