How can we implement quotas in Qualtrics to ensure that a specific loop and merge item, such as "Red," is fully utilized in the survey 100 times?For example:We ask participants to choose their favorite colors in the rainbow (multi-choice). A follow-up looping question is presented based on the selected colors, such as:"What is your favorite shape for [COLOR]?"Options: Circle, Triangle, Rectangle, Hexagon, Heptagon.If we set a quota for "Red" at 100:100 participants select Red, but 63 of them also select another color. Due to the randomization of the loop, only 30 of those 63 are asked about "Red" in the looping question. In total, only 67 participants are asked about "Red," leaving a gap of 33 from the quota, even though the quota for Red is marked as "full."How can we structure the survey or quotas to ensure that Red gets fully processed 100 times through the loop and merge, rather than just being selected as part of the multi-choice question?

Hi, I have a survey that users are intended to access over a course of several months before submitting it. I want to track within the survey the date/time certain pages in the survey were viewed. I tried this Java script on an item, and also added a “DateMod1” embedded variable to the top of the survey: Qualtrics.SurveyEngine.addOnLoad(function(){/*Place your JavaScript here to run when the page is fully displayed*/    var curDate = "${date://CurrentDate/m%2Fd%2FY}";    Qualtrics.SurveyEngine.setEmbeddedData('DateMod1', curDate);}); The embedded variable stays blank though even after passing that item/page. How do I fix this?

I have a Results page with a number of (nearly identical) widgets. The only difference between them is the filter, where I filter each one so that it only shows respondents results from a certain demographic.I also have a filter for these entire page, so that it only shows results from the past week. This means that sometimes, some of the widgets have no results to display, because that specific demographic has not obtained results in the past week.Is there a way, then, to not even display the widgets without results? Is this possible within the Results part of a Survey? Do I need to migrate the page to a Report Page? Any help is much appreciated.

Hey!I am conducting a Van Westendorp Pricing Study on the platform, and when someone answers the four questions regarding what they consider "cheap," "ideal," "expensive," and "too expensive" without logic (for example, the "too expensive" value being lower than the "cheap" value), a message appears asking them to use the Back Button and re-enter the information. However, the Back Button option does not appear (please see the screenshot attached), only the Next button. Could you please help with this? Thanksss  

I‘ve been able to create a custom slider image using the javascript below, but it only renders in the same size as the original qualtrics slider image. Hi community,I’m wondering whether anyone might be able to help with something I’ve been trying to figure out in Qualtrics for a little while. I'm running a study where I need to direct participants based on their support or opposition to a policy. Basically, I want to recruit a larger number of participants (e.g., 100 at a time) and always send 2 people who support a policy and 2 people who oppose a policy to a specific page (where they enter an external chat). The next set of 2+2 people would then be sent to another page and so on.I've tried setting quota but apparently responses aren't counted towards the quota until they are submitted. The only option I can see is having a shorter survey first that assesses whether participants support or oppose the policy, setting quota and then branching depending on the quota to a range of follow-up surveys (with the specific page). I'd rather avoid having to create about 25 surveys and having to merge the datasets etc. Just wondering if anyone

Hi,I’m doing some custom styling on a multiple choice question in my survey and I think life would be easier if I could add a custom css class to each of the response options. I’m sure you can do this through javascript but I’m not sure how/what syntax to use? I don’t want to add the class to a parent element because my css would specifically be targeting when the response also has the “q-checked” class applied, so that a selected answer (for this question only, no other questions) has specific styling applied.Thankyou! 

Question ID Is there an easy way to look up a question ID? Now I go to the question and right click on inspect and then at elements I look for the correct question and then the ID code. 

Hi everyone, I’m working on my first project in Qualtrics and need some help programming a setup where: I have 24 unique jokes that need to be displayed randomly. Im not sure how these need to be attached or stored in the project. The jokes are to be told by 8 different cartoon avatars (graphics) and each will be rated via a sliding scale (1-100) Each avatar will “tell” a set of 3 jokes, displayed in a two cell table : the avatar graphic in the left cell and the joke text in the right cell. All 24 jokes must be used, at random and none can repeat. I’m not sure if I should use a randomizer or a piping function to achieve this setup, or if there’s a better way to handle it. I’d love advice on the best approach and any specific steps or code I might need to implement this. I've been given "Brand Administrator" authorization to our live instance of Qualtrics. However, I can only see a survey after it's either collaborated with me or distributed. As an admin, I'd like to see all surveys (in draft, active, inactive, etc.) in the instance. What authorization would I require?Please assist. Thanks in advance!

I have a survey where I’ve customised the multiple choice function and text entry features to create an accordian type survey. The issue was when a user expands an accordian item, enters some text and then collapses it again it means the answer can’t be submitted, as you get an “You have added text into an unselected answer choice” error. To get around this, I used a bit of jQuery to recognise when a textarea has content and then assign a class active to the Label Wrapper. jQuery('.LabelWrapper textarea').keyup(function(){    if(jQuery(this).val()){    jQuery(this).parent().find('label').addClass("active");  }else{    jQuery(this).parent().find('label').removeClass("active");  }}); Then I can change the icon to a tick and make the answer uncollapsible using CSS.  At this point I thought I’d cracked it, but I’m using blocks in this survey and a Table of Contents (it’s what the client has specified). I have a multi-select box “Names” where respondents can select multiple names of people in their organization with whom they have a social connection.I’d like to follow that up with a matrix-type question where each row is one of the names from the multi-select, and respondents can indicate the level of social connection with the previously selected person.Is this possible?Thanks!Bryan

Hi--I was hoping that someone could help me with creating Javascript to split a single slider question into a grid - where statements are divided into different columns, each with their own sliders.Some background:I have a multiple-choice question in which I use the “column” alignment to split up answer choices (in my case, photographs) into a 3x2 grid (randomized choice order). I then use carry-forward to bring Displayed Choices to a subsequent slider question, where they answer a slider question for each photograph. Hi there,I have 30 photos of people and 30 sentences describing actions. I need to create randomized pairs where a photo is displayed with a sentence below it, and participants will evaluate the person depicted using a Likert scale. Participants must see all 30 pairs.Participants should not see any repeated photos or sentences. I want the pairs to be randomized so that any photo can be paired with any sentence from the set. Additionally, I need to record which photo and sentence were shown for each evaluation in the dataset.(I expect to have a certain amount of mid-dropout participants because the task is lengthy).What approach can I use to achieve this? So far, I created a block with a multiple-choice item using images and another item with sentences. Is there a way to add our own Topic Starter pack or have a set list of Topics be default for our users? We are trying to maintain consistency in the topics and feel that relying on our users to find a saved file and import the topics opens us up to alot of human error. Any suggestions would be appreciated as well. Sandra

I set up an email distribution for a survey by uploading participant information into the contact list and using it to send emails. The initial email included the survey link, which was set to expire after 3 months. Additionally, I scheduled three reminder emails to be sent to non-responding participants at intervals of 7, 14, and 21 days. These reminder emails also used the same 3-month expiration date for the survey link.Now that all the emails have been sent and the original expiration date has passed, I’m wondering:If I add another reminder to the same distribution, will the survey links become available for another 3 months? Alternatively, do I need to set up a new distribution for that panel following the same process again?

Pulling in Termination Date as a Metadata field for Exit Survey. Haven’t worked with Field Editor too much, but not seeing an option to add a field in Qualtrics to pull out the Year of the Termination Date into it’s own column to use as a filter in my dashboard (“Everyone that has a Termination Date in 2024”).Does the Field Editor have this type of automation capability?

Hi everyone, I'm trying to implement a feature where users can unselect a radio button in a single select question by clicking on it again. Hello, I have a survey in Qualtrics where I have set a header javascript and am pulling from information set in that header for a series of questions.For one particular question, I am pulling from a series of URLs that are in the header javascript and the question flashes a randomly selected image from one of those URLs (these URLs are from the Qualtrics library where I have uploaded a series of images).The URL is then saved in embedded data called pra_alien1_url (this exact image/url will change depending on the respondent because it is randomized each time). Is it possible for me to reference this exact image again in a later question from the embedded data? Essentially I want the exact image that is selected from the earlier question, the URL of which is then stored in pra_alien1_url, to appear in another question. How would I go about doing this in the javascript of that specific later question and how would I have it appear in the question itself? Any help would be appreciated!

Hi,when trying to include a screen grab or copy pasting a simple image into an XM Community (private) message I get the below error rendering the message unsendable 🤔 Is this a shortcoming of the Gainsight platform or is there another reason why no images can be included? Oddly it is possible when writing this message … Looking forward to better understanding how to relay messages, communciate & collaborate in this community.thanks in advance,Steve
