Copy Actions When Copying a Survey or at least importing them into new survey?

I tend to find that there are quite a few pros and cons of email triggers vs email actions. I have a fair amount of email actions in my surveys and I have to make copies of those surveys (6) changing the values of embedded data fields from one to another and a few other specific changes within my survey. I could make it one big survey, but it would basically be insanely big with a fair amount of variables within the survey. That being said, I prefer to use actions versus emails primarily because I can copy Actions within a survey and cannot copy triggers within a survey (unless somebody knows a way?) and I can also name them something that makes sense visually. The nice thing is that triggers remain when copying a survey. It would be really nice for me, however, with the large amount of actions there will be in each survey, if those would copy when I copy each survey to edit a bit, then it would save me some time (some will be 40 or so triggers in each survey) Any suggestions?

Can I get Qualtrics to record the score for each question?

Hi!I have created two versions of a quiz: a pre-test and a post-test. Our students will take the pre-test, then attend a training, and take the post-test afterwards.The quiz is multiple choice and I’ve assigned a value of one point for each correct answer.What I need to do now is create a report that will show each students’ response to each question accompanied by a chart that shows if they are progressing or not, based on their answers.Is Qualtrics the right tool to achieve this?What I’ve tried is to export the Data & Analysis to Excel, intending to use the charting function to create the charts. However, Qualtrics is only giving me a cumulative score for each quiz.Can I get Qualtrics to record the score for each question?Please let me know what you think. Thanks!

Customize End of Survey Message with Embedded data

Hi Community, I want to customize my end of survey email template to include a summary of the scores, but I want to do this in a way the scores are categorized. For instance, Scores ranged 1-2 are labeled as Poor, and I can embedded this into my end of survey message depending on the score. Theoretically it would look something like: Your total score was a 10, Congratulations you are ranked in the Great Category. All information I looked into dealt with survey flow and logic, however, it is the end of survey message I am trying to change.

How do you consolidate / deduplicate the Contact List of an ongoing survey?

I have an ongoing survey and have received a few responses. I'm using the ExternalDataReference field to create a unique access code for authentication and to identify each individual contact. While adding a few additional contacts to the list, I accidentally re-uploaded my entire contact list for the survey, doubling the number of contacts and creating duplicates for each. As a result, none of my Authenticators work. I cannot automatically deduplicate my contact list as I do not have access to XM Directory (as suggested here ). Manual consolidation/deduplication will take a very long time. Merging Duplicate Contacts in XM DirectoryI am tempted to delete the current contact list and import the contact list again to ensure that the Authenticators still work. The support information posted (in the link below) isn't very clear on how to do this and avoid deleting existing responses / merging existing responses. Tickets - 2 way emailing - Creation confirmation email with Reply-To ticket

I am working on creating a Ticketing process based on responses to a survey. When a survey response is recorded, a ticket is created. I have set up the email to go to the follow-up team. However, I would like to also send an email to the survey respondent confirming submission of the survey, but the Reply-To address be the email address that will add a message to the Activity log of the Ticket. This way, if they have any follow up comments, everything is kept within the ticket record. How can I set up this email on Ticket Creation to go to the survey respondent and Reply to the ticket?

Is there a way to set an embedded data field that will assign a sequential ID number?

Hello community members,This seems like such a basic operation that I'm surprised I could not find a solution in the Support pages or the Community.I'm building a project request intake form. The client would like to have a unique Project ID number assigned for each submitted project, and would prefer it to be sequential. It could be as simple as assigning 1 to the first submitted project, 2 for the next, 3 for the third, etc. However, recognizing that there will be incomplete responses that are started but never submitted, the client might accept gaps in the project ID numbering scheme, as long as they are still in a relative order (that is, the highest number always represents the most recently submitted project, and each successive lower number is the one previously submitted).I know that you can set a random number as Embedded Data in the Survey Flow, but I can't find any way to set consecutive, increasing numbers for each response. I'm probably overlooking something obvious. Is th

Prevent users from editing messages in shared library

I created an organization library which includes email and end of survey message templates. Is there a way to prevent users from editing the templates? I would like my users to copy the templates and make their edits to the copied version.

Use import file for Email Distribution

HI, I'm new to the community and Qualtrics. We are using Qualtrics for Employee surveys once they leave the company. These Employees are coming from our HR software. I just finished building the Automation process using Qualtrics File Service. Now that I'm importing the Employee file how do I use it for a Email Distribution? I've look all through the application but no luck .Thank You!!

Asking the same questions about different referents across blocks - possible to merge responses?

Dear community,We are running a survey that randomly assigns respondents to receive a vignette about one of five technologies, and then answer questions related to that technology. The questions are the same across technologies, it is just the referent that is different (e.g. I can rely on Technology A/B/C/D/E). Obviously, these are housed within five different blocks, and those blocks are presented randomly.When I download test data into SPSS, each referent variable has a column (e.g. Trust_A, Trust_B, Trust_C, Trust_D, Trust_E), and there are gaps depending on which condition a respondent answered - so if they answered questions relating to A, all of the other variables related to B-E are empty. What I want to do is have all responses under a merged "Trust" variable, and use a separate condition variable to test for differences (apologies for not explaining this very well!). Is there a way to set this up in Qualtrics so everything is pretty much arranged as I want when it comes to do

Carrying forward selections to a follow up question

I am building a survey where people first identify the relevance of a construct and then in the next question they rate how relevant the items are, but I can't get the follow up question to only produce constructs previously identified as relevant. It just produces the full list. How do I get this to work?

Randomised display of specific subsets of items within a question set

Dear community,This may be a very simple question, but I haven't been able to find an answer to it.I have a question with 15 items within a block containing other questions. I see the items that make up this question as comprising up 5 subsets (1-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13-15), and would like to randomly present participants with 1 item per set so they receive 5 items in total (e.g 1,5,8,10,13 - 2,4,9,11,15, etc). Ideally, I would like to do this in a way that is completely random. I know I could set up specific sets in different blocks and use the randomizer, but that wouldn't allow for complete randomisation. Could anyone advise whether this is possible, or what the best workaround would be?Many thanks in advanceKind regardsSteve

Input from optional text entry not being recorded

I have a multiple choice checkbox list and one of the options is "other - please specify" with an optional text entry.How do I record the responses from this text input? There is a column for it in the data table but nothing is being recorded there. Feel sure I'm missing something obvious but I can't tell what!Could it be because I'm carrying forward this response to another question and it only gets recorded if that question is answered? The follow-up question is optional and not displayed by default - so if this is the case how would I record the input regardless?

Incomplete Responses record with embedded data

Hi! I have designed a survey with invitation distributed by CRM with embedded data stored in the link via &. I need to see empty responses of those who opened survey (clicked and Qualtrics loaded the survey) and closed it without making any progress. In tutorial is said that such empty responses with embedded data should be stored. May be Im doing something wrong but I don't see such data which I need for response rate analysis. "Attention: If there’s embedded data saved on a response or a text/graphic question at the beginning of your survey, the response will not be registered as empty. Because of this, the response will be saved after the timeframe chosen runs out, even if no questions have been answered."

Array or Spreadsheet for ZIP Codes in Qualtrics

In one of our surveys, we're asking for respondents' ZIP codes. We'd then like to ask them a question about how they would allocate money between the national government and the state government, and then between the state government and the city government. The first question's simple since we're only surveying respondents in the United States and ask them explicitly for the state they live in earlier in the survey. But for the second question (something like "how would you split $X between the government of Alaska, and the government of Juneau", for example), we don't necessarily want to explicitly ask people for the city they live in as well (it's a last-resort option). So given that, I've been able to find some spreadsheets that map ZIP codes into the corresponding "town" or "city", but of course there's 40,000 + ZIP codes, easily hundreds if not thousands of which may come up in our survey. So is there some method by which I can take the user's input (their ZIP code), and find t

I want the variable name as self_reported_weight_units_2. However, Qualtrics cannot give me this. Every time I edit, nothing changes after for a while.

Survey Email Triggers/Notification

HelloWhen a user submits a survey I have it where it sends me a email notification. It does not seem there is any way to really customize/modify the content/format of the email. Want I need the email to have is all the question in the survey even if they are not answered or if any text was entered. Is this possible?

I am trying to create a sub-question under the NPS question in one Block to ask the customer to "Please Explain their Score". I don't see any options to add a sub-question or I don't see any options to merge two blocks.

In qualtrics, I know how to recode if the values are numbers. But currently I have a question: what state are you live in the U.S.? So there are 50 states. And what I want recode is AL, AK, AZ,... These are letters not numbers. I don't know how to do.

Recording contact language through survey take

Hi!I have a directory full of contacts, but I don't have the language registered for them. Is it possible to save the language value when they are taking a survey (without directly asking the language from the respondents)? I guess I should be using embedded data but somehow I cannot manage to do it. Additional info, I am sending out the survey via email from Qualtrics but I also use the anonymize response function.Thanks for your help!

A streak of numbers displayed separately

Hello! I want to create a procedure in which there is a cognitive workload condition. The way in which I wanted to implement it is to have a streak of, let's say, 7 numbers, which would pop up one by one for certain amount of time on the screen of the participant. Is that actually possible to do? Does qualtrics allow for this type of thing? I think that one of the ways of implementing that is just creating separate pages with nothing but a single number on them with a certain amount of time after which they switch, but maybe there is a way to to something like that in a more coherent and fluid way, along the lines of a mini-slideshow.

Create a survey approval flow for two approvers?

I think this has been asked before but I'm very new to Qualtrics and so I'm very much a novice when it comes to creating workflows on this platform. I've created a survey that will require two parties to review and approve the initial responses before the final decisions are emailed back to the responder. Can someone help me with the tasks (and possibly blocks) that are required for this type of flow? And if someone has a sample of this kind of logic they wouldn't mind sharing, I'd appreciate it!

Can I use the piped text from a different question block?

Hello!I have a web service & loop that I use in block 1 and block 2. A participant is randomly assigned to receive either block 1 or block 2. Then, the block contains a piped text, which shows the participant a random article (from a list of 300).Afterward, in blocks 7 and 8, I would like to reshow the participant the same piped text. Block 7 piped text will be shown if the user was assigned to block 1 initially, and block 8 piped text will be shown if the user was assigned to block 2 initially.So, my question is, how can we reuse/refer to the same piped text that was used in an earlier block? This way, I will be able to show the article that was shown in block 1 once again in block 7 (and the same thing goes for blocks 2 and 8).Thanks a lot in advance.
