Hi, I plan to collect device information from the anonymous survey link. Meta Info cannot work when using the anonymous link. Therefore, I tried to load the ua-parser java library (Here is the package link: https://github.com/faisalman/ua-parser-js/tree/gh-pages) into Qualtrics JavaScript. However, the function doesn’t work. How to set up the external JS library work? I am a beginner in JavaScript. Below is my code. Hi, I'm fairly new to Qualtrics (and have zero (0) knowledge about JavaScript) so here I am because I couldn't find an answer :,)Context:For my survey, respondents have to read 30+ vignettes. After each vignette, respondents have to answer 3 questions (which are the same for all vignettes). So each vignette + 3 standard qns have to be in a block.The presentation of the vignette-blocks will be randomised, but respondents must read & respond to all of them.Problem:Every vignette contains a fictional person's name. I have a list of fictional names to be presented to respondents, and would like the name displayed in each vignette to be randomised. (e.g., Respondent 1 would see 'Tom' for Vig.1 & 'Harry' for Vig.2; respondent 2 would see 'Harry' for Vig.1 & 'Tom' for Vig.2) Each name can only appear once per respondent.From my understanding, use of embedded data and piped text are the most efficient ways to achieve this. How to remind the respondents at the "end of survey" the number of question he did not answer and take him back to that question or block.

Hello, we need to put some disclaimer text to either the start of end of a survey, however given the volume of text and the fact that most people will be taking our survey via mobile, the ‘next’ or ‘submit’ buttons won’t be immediately visible on screen so I’m worried about dropouts.  Is there a way to move the position of the ‘next’ or ‘submit’ button so it’s either at the top of the question, or at least above the disclaimer text?

Hi, Is there a way of extracting a list of non respondants to an email distribution, and automating this extraction so that it can be sent to someone to follow up via phone calls.   Has anyone been able to do this via a workflow that takes a list of non respondants from a contact list and generates a file that can be emailed to someone. thanks

Hello,I’m trying to get piped answers from previous single select questions to show up as follows:“PipedAnswer1, PipedAnswer2, PipedAnswer3,...”Currently how it is set up, this is how it looks like:“PipedAnswer1 PipedAnswer2, PipedAnswer3...” I need to be able to have the commas show up consistently, but only if a piped answer was selected. I currently have it set up as an array in JS like this below:And in the HTML of the question text, I have this entered: <div id=”pipe”>QIDs</div> If I was to select PipedAnswer1, PipedAnswer3, and PipedAnswer5, it would look like this:PipedAnswer, , PipedAnswer3, , PipedAnswer5, , ,  How do I get rid of the unneeded commas if the answers aren’t selected above? Do I need some kind of loop? Thanks in advance!

If I want respondents to only be able to answer a text entry question by typing exactly 9 digits AND these 9 characters can only be numbers, how can I do that? Right now, I have it set to validate with a character range of min of 9 and max of 9. The problem is that this still allows people to type in letters or other symbols, rather than only numbers. 

I am trying to design a report that will show a thumbnail of the image that the respondent uploaded. If it helps the report will be for our Registrar and will list student names and a (hopefully) image of their insurance card INSTEAD of the name.

I have a survey that has been running for months, and for part of it, it is constantly appending data to an embedded variable, which gets quite long sometimes (~100k characters). This has not been a problem until midday on March 11, when suddenly Qualtrics started truncating the embedded variable on subsequent responses (at least a dozen now). To reproduce this, create a survey with two embedded variables (say, test1 and test2), and set their values to long strings programmatically:Qualtrics.SurveyEngine.setEmbeddedVar("test1","t".repeat(50000));Qualtrics.SurveyEngine.setEmbeddedVar("test2","t".repeat(100000));For me, the var "test2" is recorded as 70,000 "t" plus an ellipsis "...".Is this an intended change? Or is this something to do with my account hitting a hidden data storage size limit or something?

Hi, Not sure if this is possible, but looking to set up randomisation in a block, but with a custom display %. We currently have a block at the front of a survey that contains 2 questions, and 2 pieces of static information (research T&Cs and Privacy notice). The 2 questions are currently being randomised using the native block randomiser to display evenly to each respondent. In reality, we need Q1 to be shown to 80% of respondents, Q2 to 20%. Aware you can set custom values within the native randomiser, but these are based on counts and not %. Ideally looking for an unmonitored solution as this would be utilised across around 20 surveys.  Not sure if the above is even possible with blocks, but thought I’d ask!  Thanks

Hello,I am sending out a survey to about 300 customers hoping they complete it via the email survey. After about 2 weeks, I am going to have someone reach out to these customers and try and speak to them via phone call, essentially asking the same questions, just more in conversation format.I'd love to just pull the distribution and send the URLs from those that didn't complete the survey and have the internal employee click the link and fill it out after the call. I want to identify that this was completed via a phone call. I've added an embedded data field phone_call and appended this to the end of the URL phone_call=Y at the end of the URL, which works as long as the customer hasn't started the survey. I should note that I'd like to include an extra comment box if this is a phone call, hence the embedded data field to allow the display of the 'hidden' question. Has anyone done anything like this? We distribute surveys following business transactions using ‘transaction date’ in ISO-8601 format as required by XMD 'Transactions' specifications. This date is accurately picked up during distribution, however, it appears blank in data & analysis tab as well as on dashboard. We need to do reporting based on transaction date. Can anyone please help?

Hi, I’ve combed thru the forum for any info on incorporating a typing tool into my survey. I’m using this code in JavaScript but it is returning only the constants and not using the recoded variables. It’s essentially storing the variable values as 0. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong/what’s missing. I’ve added the variables as embedded data in the beginning of the survey in the embedded data element. I need some way for the variables to pull in their actual recoded values. Hello,I have a multi country (about 100 countries) survey where 80% of the questionnaire is global and same across all countries and 20% of the questionnaire is localized and differs for each country. The global questions are about 20 to 30 and local questions add up to 500 (though, only a maximum of 5 will be shown to one country). I plan to have 1 block for each country with their local questions and the blocks are shown based on the country embedded variable.Even though there are more than 500 questions, only ~30 questions will be shown at a time (global questions + only 1 block with a maximum of 5 questions). I’m wondering if this will affect the survey performance. If the country in question is defined in the 100th block, does Qualtrics take a lot of time to execute the display logic and go from the 1st block to 100th block?

Hello!I am trying to translate a brief survey that is linked to my more substantial original survey. When I click the ‘translations’ tab the option to ‘add language’ is greyed out and not selectable. Any advice on what the problem is and how to resolve it?Many thanks in advance! 

There used to be a column titled “Links” in the distribution tab under personal links, and this column showed how many personalized links were generated from each contact list. This column disappeared in the past few weeks, so I’m having trouble seeing the exact number of links generated from each contact list now. Does anyone have any workarounds or suggestions to determine the number of personal links created per list?

I have added java script, to have a withdraw button at the end of each page. The purpose is that if participants want to withdraw from the study, they can click the button. When participants click the buttons, a question with three options should come up.
