Display Piped Text in Survey Questions from Embedded Data generated from a Contact List

I thought I had this figured out but the information I'm trying to pipe into my Survey questions are not displaying.I created a contact list with private school names and contact information. I used that contact list as the source for an Embedded Data element at the start of my survey. My goal is for respondents to select their school name in the first question. The next question should show them the Director name, email, phone number, and school address using piped text and they will say yes or no to verify the information is correct.I'm attaching screenshots of my .csv file headers, the embedded data info, and my question with the piped text fields. I'm obviously missing something. I've read and reread the embedded data support page and even found a video webinar that someone did on the topic and I still get blank spaces when I preview the survey. I would really love to have this work properly. This is something we do over and over again with various surveys and currently, respondent

Overridding inline CSS

I’m not optimistic about finding a solution, but thought I’d ask here as a last ditch effort.So I have a side by side question and I wanted to style the columns specific sizes because by default in Simple layout the columns have some inline styling doesn’t work well for the data I have in those columns. And I am attempting to override those inline styles, but what already I’ve tried hasn’t worked.My attempt is the div.sticky-container.sbs-table CSS. And if I uncheck the first grid-template-columns under element.style, then mine seems to work. But even when I try to apply important! to mine it still doesn’t override the inline CSS.I’m not sure what else I could try. When I attempted adding the important! it gave me a little error and since it wasn’t accomplishing anything, I removed it.

Javascript for side by side question with date formatting

Hello,I have a question about inserting Javascript in order to give the statements in a side-by-side question a date format.  There is one column with two possible answers and three statements.  I want each box to have a mm/dd/yyyy formatting.  I inserted javascript to do so, and it works, but only in the first box.  I’m not sure how to make it apply to each of the possible boxes.Thank you for any help.  I am not familiar with Javascript at all 😕

Can we jump to a survey block via an external link?

We embed our Qualtrics surveys into our customer websites. Is there’s a way to guide a user to jump to points within a survey. For example we have one large survey with 10 blocks and a Table of Contents embedded into a website. Let’s then say a user is on the website page that has content relevant to a survey block. Could we then place a button on the website that allows the user to jump to that relevant section of the survey?

Authentication

I am using a QR Code along with Authentication for students to log attendance using their numeric student ID. I would like to use a number pad for numeric entry. Where do I put the Javascript? I am not a programmer so please be gentle and explain it like you are speaking to a 3-year-old.  Thank you.

Setting embedded data to a maximum

New to JS/not very experienced in qualtrics and struggling to figure this out. Respondents answer a question regarding a likelihood (i.e., enter a number from 0 to 100) and I want to ask them how confident they are that the right answer is between their answer +/- 5%. I can compute these values with embedded data, e.g.,Up_10yr_plus5=$e{ ${q://QID4/ChoiceTextEntryValue} + 5}.My problem is if someone answers, for example, 97, I would like the variable up_10yr_plus5 to be 100 rather than 102 (97+5).From what I’ve read, it seems I need to use javascript (as math functions in embedded data are limited) to write something like:Qualtrics.SurveyEngine.addOnload(function(){    var max = Math.max("${e://Field/Up_10yr_plus5}",100);Qualtrics.SurveyEngine.setEmbeddedData("max", max);}); I thought that this would create a new embedded variable called max that I could then insert in my question. Change font size of Chart's question titles

I am setting up a new report and running into a basic style issue.I insert a question into the report, I am unable to adjust the size of text for the question’s title. I have looked under the individual question’s style menu as well as the gear for all of the report, and do not see an option that affects this area. New to Qualtrics so I appreciate the help

move checkbox element to specific location on form field question?

Hello, I am a student that's fairly new to using Javascript to format questions in Qualtrics. I have a form field question where I needed to also add a checkbox if the question was not applicable to the respondent, which I have done. However, the checkbox is situated too close to the next question when publishing the survey. Change format of embedded data date

HiI need the help of the community :)When we send a post-transaction survey, we bring to the embedded data a few dates data. For example here:  Is there any way I can do manipulation on these dates (in the survey flow or otherwise) to only show month, year, date without time etc?If yes, where and now?The usecase is that I need to calcualate things based on this - which I also need please an idea how - the number of days passed between X and Y, the days passed from survey completion to X or YAlso, I want to manage a data set (imported data) of dates so I know which date was a working day, which was not including bank holidays etc. Thanks a lot !  As usual asking also the experts :)@TomG @vgayraud@omkarkewat

Grouping Form Fields

Hi All, I have created a survey that asks the user to list their top 5 weekly tasks (form field), these form fields are carried forward and the user is then asked how much time they spend on each task, and how important each task is. There are 2 things I want to do: Group the topics I create in Text iQ (there are 5 open ended questions to be analysed, one for each task). As it stands, I can only quantify the tasks for each form field entry (e.g. Coding is a Task 1 for 20% of users). What I’s like to also do is state what percent of users listed coding as a task in ANY of the 5 form fields? I have created follow up questions (using the ‘Carry Forward’ Logic). AT the moment, I can only view those answers by the Form Field names (e.g. Task 1, Task 2), not by the topics generated in Text iQ. Does anyone have a workaround for this? Last question, I’m doing a retrospective on this survey to see what I could have done differently. Struggling with disabling copy/paste in my survey

Hi there. I have tried just about every method under the sun to disable copying/pasting in my survey, but nothing has worked. Qualtrics support explained that I’d need a custom code made. Flatpickr date not storing data with survey

As a follow up to my last post:I got it to display beautifully, but the question doesn’t seem to be storing the date value after completing the survey. I’m not sure if somehow it has to do with using the Simple Layout option for a Theme or what…  I even commented out some stuff in case that was the reason, but it doesn’t seem to make a difference in whether it gets stored or not.I even tried to store it as embedded data prior to submitting the survey and that didn’t make a difference either.I don’t know how else to troubleshoot the data value not getting saved/stored with the survey response…. Please send help.

Show Date Picker Only if Default Choice is Empty

Hi,Currently I am editing a survey. I have a question block where one of the fields is a question where users needs to enter the date. The question type is a Form field.Sometimes, we create pre-filled links, so in that question, we used something like:${e://Field/SomethingDate}as the default choice. List of Eligible Users as Dropdown Options

Hi! I am creating an always-on “suggestion box” of sorts where employees can give suggestions to other employees. For this, I envisioned a question like “Please select the employee from the dropdown menu whom you’d like to give a suggestion to.” The issue: The dropdown options need to be a list of all active users in our Qualtrics instance. How do I get this to work?

Error in Multiple Choice Question answer options

Hello community Help me to correct this error that the user made and that is shown wrong in the dashboard...As you can see this question is a Multiple Choice question, surely you have created several answer options but then left only 3, so now qualtrics left the numbers 1, 12 and 13 ... and we need to be 1, 2 and 3 ...  Do you know how to correct this ... because I don't know how QC assigns the IDs to the options....Thanks!

Display logic based on the selected count of a subset of choices

Hi all I am trying to use display logic to only show a question  to respondents that selected more than 1 choice from a subset of choices in the previous question.  My survey looks as follows:Q1 (multiple choice)Choice A Choice B Choice C Choice D Q2:Choice B (only displayed if Choice B was selected in Q1) Choice C (only displayed if Choice C was selected in Q1) Choice D (only displayed if Choice D was selected in Q1) Q2 should only be shown to respondents that did choose 2 or more choices from the subset BCD. I.e. a respondent should not see Q2, if he or she exclusively choose B, C or D (whether he or she did choose A, does not matter).How would one go about this? Is there a native way of implementing a display logic based on the selected count of a subset of choices? Thanks in advance.

Comparing Two Surveys in One Dashboard

I have two surveys that are the same but were conducted three years apart, and I would like to compare the results in a dashboard. I have added the two data sources in the Dashboard Data section, and lined up the matching questions (see below).If I go create a chart and set the Data Set Source field as the data series (or create a table and set the Data Set Source as the columns), I only get the data from the 2018 survey. Could anyone help me figure out what I'm doing wrong?

Custom Validation for Side by Side Question

How can I require 0-30 number validation for text-entry boxes in one column without forcing a response? I tried a previous post’s suggestion for custom validation, letting each field be </=30 or empty. However, in testing, it won’t accept empty fields and requires a response for each. What am I doing wrong here?Custom Validation AttemptsError message when try to leave fields empty in preview I previously tried entering some posted javascript to set the 0-30 values. However, it applied it to the text entry box for “Other,” too, despite manually having this set to require non-numerical text. If javascript is the answer, how can I tweak the code to only apply to the text boxes in one column?

Help with flatpickr - formatting dates

Hello!I’m currently trying to manipulate the inputted date and time from a survey participants using flatpickr. For instance, if the user chose the following date and time (08/08/2024 9:00 PM) on flatpickr, I would like to subtract an hour from it and store it in an embedded value as (08/08/2024 8 PM). So far, I’ve created the necessary embedded data for the variables in the survey flow, and wrote the following Javascript: Using the written code, I’m able to display a calendar and time for the participants to choose: However, the manipulated date is not showing up in the next subsequent question; nothing shows up for ${e://Field/cigevent1} and ${e://Field/cigevent2} displayed in the next subsequent question. What I’m guessing is that something wrong happened in formatting the dates in the Javascript code, so its not correctly displaying as a piped text in the subsequent questions.I would very much appreciate it if someone could guide me on how to correctly store the date and time, and

Display survey element conditionally based on weekly time delay

Hi! Thanks in advance for any help. I have a survey that users will return to each week over a 16 week period. I created a multiple choice menu with 16 options - one for each week - and branching for each “lesson” according to which option they select. Ideally, I want a user to only see “lesson 1” as a menu option during their first 7 days in the program. On the 8th day, I want them to see “lesson 1” and “lesson 2”, and so on through the end of the intervention, such that on day 106, they see all lessons, including “lesson 16”. I tried to accomplish this by using embedded variables based on adding X number of days to their STARTDATE variable, assigned at screening, ie: WEEKTWO = ${date://STARTDATE/c/+7%20day}With help from chatgpt, I then tried to use javascript to accomplish this time-delayed branching, but nothing has worked. Any ideas on how to accomplish my goal? Thank you so much!
