Changing multiple question labels

Hi everyone,Is there a method that anyone knows on how to change multiple question labels without going into each individual question? Is it possible to fix them in the export data and then import the ones I want?Thank you!!

Customizing the URL information

Hi, group. I am building a customer satisfaction survey that will be distributed in a variety of ways. One in particular is on a postcard that will be given to our customer after service has been completed. I would like to have a simple, meaningful, memorable URL address.Has anyone had experience in creating a customized URL?

Is ResponseID unique per account or per survey?

Hi everyone!I am running multiple surveys which I then gather into a single database of ours. I'm currently using the ResponseID as the unique ID of each survey in the database. However, I was wondering whether this variable is unique across surveys (per account) or whether it's only going to be unique on a survey basis.I.e. will there be a (very tiny, yet realistic) chance of ResponseIDs from survey A and survey B to be identical?The easy fix would be to prefix each ResponseID with a fixed ID of the survey (e.g. "A_R_123456789" vs "B_R_123456789"), but I'm only going to update my database accordingly if it's necessary 😀 This does assume that the ResponseID is always a guaranteed unique ID (for which I found conflicting information online: is it random or is it random & unique?).Thanks!Michael

How can I allow questions to be skipped in survey?

I am setting up a survey with 3 stages at which a participant can opt to leave and not complete the full survey. I am very new to qualtrics. Please can you tell me how to set this up. I already have the full template completed with 3 boxes (overview, detailed participant info and consent) and then a 4 box with demographic survey) For example, I have set 2 options on question 1, I am interested in finding out more (which I would like if ticked to take person to next box, detailed participant information) and I am not interested in this study (which If ticked I would like to take participant to end of survey and message saying thank you for your time)thanks for your help

Scoring and Reporting multiple choice survey questions - calculating meaningful mean

Hello, complete newbie here. Was looking via search but unable to find answers so trying here.What I have is a simple customer satisfaction survey with around 17 questions divided into 4 question blocks. Multi-choice "agree-disagree" with scoring 1 - 5 and categories set for overall score and separate scoring categories for each question block.Now when the scoring is done, the results and reports calculate a total score for the category and then give me an average based on the sum of total scores divided by a number of responses.SC0 - Overall Score:min = 62.00max = 73.00mean = 67.50Is there any easy way to get the actual average per question on that group? Say I would have 17 questions on that group, the result would be:mean = 3.97Or is this something better calculated with excel?Appreciate if anyone would point me in the right direction 🙏

How do I only require a response for one column of a side by side question?

Howdy! Thank you so much for reading this. I am stumped about how to make ONLY the scaled response (likert) in column 1 required:I'm using display logic here because Q2 asks "Did you do X?" (Yes/No) question for a series of statements. Then in Q3, users will be asked "Will you continue to do X?" and MUST answer Yes, Maybe, No in column 1 and can provide any OPTIONAL additional info in column 2.I tried using custom validation, but it only works if a user selects Yes in Q2 for all statements. Many, many thanks in advance for your time.

Randomly allocating each respondent to one out of 2 branch options

Create Distribution through API: Subject from Library?

Hi all,I'm creating Distributions through the API https://{{host}}/API/v3/distributionsIn the "message" part, I can indicate the libraryId + messageId of the email that I want to send. How to ignore a block in a randomization if the previous question does not meet the condition?

Hi, I need some help to build my questionnaire on qualtrics :) I carry out a survey in which I first ask the participants to indicate their level of knowledge of a series of 9 brands (in a matrix, 7 point likert scale from Excellent knowledge to no knowledge).Then the participants are asked to evaluate the brands they know (4/7 likert scale) randomly. That is to say that each brand = a block and that I used randomization so that the brands are distributed randomly. I added to each brand block a display logic which makes that if they don't know the brand well enough the block is not displayed (the randomization should not take it into account). However this technique does not work.Do you know how to do it? How to ignore a block in a randomization if the previous question does not meet the condition?Thanks a lot for your help!

Settings in survey not reflected in iQ-Score (mobile usability)

Dear Community,I am currently working on a survey for my master thesis and saw some hints from the iQ-Score feature. However, it recommends me to check some questions on mobile friendliness. It also provides me with a side with tips. If I go to that side, I find tips that are already part of my survey, for example to use matrix questions only with "mobile-friendly" enabled. Automatically create an XM Directory mailing list

I want to automatically create an XM Directory list based on a task triggered by an action (survey response). The task should create a new list, name it and populate default fields and additional embedded fields based on responses captured in the survey.This does not appear possible based on the XM Directory Tasks. Is there another way?

Randomly present randomly selected subsets of elements from different groups

Hi! My question's title seems more complex than my problem really is. To simply describe my project, I have 8 groups of 15 elements each and want to present 5 elements within in groups in a random order (across groups). I've tried nesting randomizers under a main randomizer, but even though only 5 elements per group are presented and groups are presented in a random order, the 5 elements from a group are presented one after the one (rather than completely randomized across groups). The basic skeleton of my survey flow looks like this: Randomizer: "randomly present 8 of 8" Randomizer for Group 1: "randomly present 5 of 15" Element 1 Element 2 ... Element 15 Randomizer for Group 2: "randomly present 5 of 15" ... Randomizer for Group 8: "randomly present 5 of 15"Please note that my "elements" include whole blocks of questions and branching logic, so using the question randomization within the block option doesn't apply. How to randomize the order of the items when using "Pick, Group, and Rank"

I'm designing a survey that utilize the question template "Pick, Group, and Rank". Each question contains 54 items need to be sorted into nine catogories. To mitigate the effect of the order of the items, it is better to ranomize the item order. Does anyone know how to implement this kind of randomization? Thanks a lot in advance!!!

How do I randomize a participant to the same condition for two separate question blocks in a survey?

I am creating a survey where participants are going to be randomized twice to one of three conditions to view a set of images based on their answer to a demographic question at the beginning of the survey. They view the set of Instagram posts once at the start of the survey, then are asked to do an activity and answer some questions. Then they need to view the same set of images again, but this time with questions after each post. How do I make sure that a participant is viewing the same set of posts for both question blocks?

Loop and merge pairing identical images

Hello, I am currently constructing a survey that has a loop & merge block. In field one, I have images of people I have manipulated to be overweight. In field two, I have images of people I have manipulated to be slimmer. The point of this survey is to randomise these faces so the respondent sees a chubby and a skinny person, views their CV (in field 3) and makes a choice about who they would hire for a job role.However, the loop and merge for fields 1 and 2 sometimes show the same person e.g. respondent sees the exact same face both chubby and skinny rather than 2 different people. The loop is set to randomise, but on a run through I just had 7 separate questions with the same person in each image, defeating the whole point of the survey.Can anyone offer me any help in fixing this issue?

Retake Response: Some questions Read-Only? JavaScript?

I am trying to have a retake link where some of the questions and selected answers can be viewed but not edited.I know how to skip questions completely in the retake, and I can show or hide questions based on the retake link. But I cannot figure out how to in the retake link show some of the questions and selected answers, but read-only. I think it's possible with javascript but I have all sorts of question types - multiple choice, text entry, dropdown, file upload.For example, imagine that a student takes a test in Qualtrics, and the professor is reviewing that test and putting comments in a new text entry question at the bottom for students. I don't want the professor to accidentally change any of the students' answers. - (Please note that this is just an example scenario to get the idea across).Thanks!

Upgrading as an Existing User with access code

Hello,I have an existing free account associated with my university email address. Recently my university has purchased licences for all students and now I am trying to upgrade my account using the code I received from my university. I followed the instruction for upgrading as an exiting user, but the menu I see is different - no "upgrade account" option under the account setting (see screenshot attached) . Can one survey record be completed be several respondents?

I am hoping that someone might have a solution to a tricky situation we currently have.The scenario is that we are collecting feedback about student placements where several individuals need to answer questions and be able to see the data added by those earlier in the 'chain'. Ideally all data completed by the three individuals would be in the same record, but that might be a bit of a long shot.In more detailFirst section of the survey - there are a number of questions the student themselves needs to complete.They then enter the email address of their placement supervisor and Qualtrics picks up that email and sends onto that person the partially completed survey with the students responses for the supervisor to complete their questions.  When the supervisor has completed their section then it goes to a Admin person who needs to see the responses of both of the student and supervisor and add some further data of their own before submitting the final record.Is there any way that this can

Return to Table of Contents after each block in the Table?

I have a TOC that has several blocks. Once users start with any block, it just seems to keep going through all the blocks. Is there any way to make users return to the TOC after they finish each block? Thanks

Single Page Application Pages -- Survey On Abandon

I run GTM and used the "A Note About JavaScript API Order of Events" JS found on this page.Single Page ApplicationMy digital analytics auditor also didn't see an issue with this survey which triggers on abandon (Qualtrics support told me this happens when someone clicks in the url bar or away). However, it still does not trigger correctly and I don't understand why. I used the JS in the "JS API Order of Events" section. Has anyone else gotten a survey to work on abandon?Thanks

Is it possible yet to import embedded data to an existing survey after the survey has closed?

My survey has closed. I have persona segmentation data on some of my respondents (an existing embedded data field pulled over from XM directory), but not all of them in my survey. I have an embedded data field called "Segmentation" and on the 190 responses that I did NOT previously have their segmentation label, I now have it. Does Qualtrics allow me to import this data and populate the field yet by email or Response ID? I am guessing not but wanted to check.Option 2: I have XM Directly and could upload the new segment data field over there, but historically this could not be pulled in posthumously once a survey is closed. Correct?Option 3: I go into edit mode in Data & Analysis and manually enter 190 segment updates. Not ideal and kind of a time suck. I suppose I could have had 15 done by the time it took me to type this up :-) Ideas anyone?

How can I make the final page of the survey display survey results from just that participant?

I am looking for a way to generate reports of individual survey responses and display the results for the participant at the end of the survey as well as have PDF versions sent to an administrator's email. Anyone know if Qualtrics has these capabilities or if anyone has created add-ons for this?
